*CONFLICT RESOLUTION* *PHYSICAL ASSAULT OF A NURSE BY PATIENT'S RELATIVE* - At a teaching hospital, Nurse Mary, a staff nurse in the emergency unit, was physically assaulted by the relative of a patient who had been waiting for medical attention. The incident began when the relative became frustrated over the delay in receiving treatment for his family member. - Despite Nurse Mary explaining that the medical team was attending to critically ill patients, the relative became aggressive and accused the nursing staff of negligence. *The situation escalated as follows* - The relative shouted insults at Nurse Mary in front of other patients and staff. - He ignored repeated attempts by the nurse to explain the situation calmly. - The relative grabbed Nurse Mary's uniform and slapped her when she asked him to stop disturbing other patients. - Other patients and visitors became frightened, while some staff members rushed to intervene. Nurse Mary became distressed and temporarily unable to continue her duties effectively. - Following the incident, the Nurse Manager was informed, and the relative was still within the hospital premises. Some staff members demanded that the relative be arrested immediately, while others insisted that management should first investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. As the Nurse Manager of the unit, you are expected to restore order, protect staff and patients, address the assault appropriately, and prevent similar incidents in the future. USING THE TELEGRAM LINK BELOW, KINDLY HIGHLIGHT: How would you manage this situation while prioritising the nurse's safety, addressing the patient's relative's violent behaviour, following appropriate reporting procedures, and promoting a safe working environment for all healthcare workers? https://t.me/nmcncbtpreparatoryplatform

*READ THIS SCENARIO AND ANSWER THE QUESTION ATTACHED. DROP YOUR ANSWER ON TELEGRAM USING THE LINK BELOW.* Nurse Amina is in charge of the emergency paediatric unit during a busy afternoon shift. One of the junior nurses, Chisom, forgets to document the administration of a prescribed antibiotic after giving it to a patient. Later, another nurse on duty, unaware the dose was already given, almost administers it again but stops when the patient’s mother mentions it had been given earlier. When confronted, chisom admits she forgot to record the medication because of the workload and insists it was a “minor mistake.” Amina, as the shift leader, feels embarrassed and worried about how close the incident came to causing harm. As the Nurse manager, what is the MOST appropriate action to take in this situation? A. Write chisom i up for gross negligence and take her day off shift immediately. B. Praise the mother for her vigilance and encourage the Nurse since no harm occurred. C. Hold a non punitive debrief meeting to review the incident, emphasize the importance of accurate documentation, and implement a safety checklist for all medication rounds. D. Transfer chisom to another ward where documentation is less demanding e.g outpatient department clinics E. Report chisom directly to the district nannm chairman for disciplinary action. *PLEASE KEEP MY NAME ANONYMOUS* I have a deep concern that I really want to share and get your honest opinion on. I am 31 years old, and I have been in a relationship with my girlfriend for about seven years. We started dating when I was struggling with my life and education. About two years into the relationship, she encouraged me to go back to school. She supported me by paying for my JAMB registration, PostUTME, and other expenses, which eventually helped me gain admission to study Nursing. At that time, the total cost of my Nursing registration was almost ₦1.2 million, while I had barely ₦200,000. - With her support, she helped raise about ₦1.5 million for me to get started. - Throughout my years in school, she remained consistent and continued supporting me financially and emotionally. Because of everything she was doing for me, and because I genuinely didn't want to disappoint her, I felt I needed to show her that I loved and appreciated her. - While I was in 300 level, I visited her parents, and I also involved my family so that we could make our relationship formal, with the intention of getting married after I completed my five years of Nursing training MARRIED BEFORE internship. - I have now completed my Nursing journey. I wrote my RN exam last year NOVEMBER, I completed my Public Health exam in May and THIS September, I completed my RM. *However, this is where my major concern begins.* - I don't think I love her anymore. - There is another girl I have developed feelings for. She cares about me, checks up on me regularly, calls me, and makes me feel emotionally connected to her. This has made me question my current relationship even more. - I feel completely stuck between my past and what I currently feel. - On one hand, I cannot forget everything my girlfriend has done for me, NO assault, no abuse, she's very caring and loving soul. She stood by me when I had almost nothing. She supported my education and helped me become who I am today. I genuinely appreciate and respect her sacrifices. On the other hand, I don't want to continue a relationship simply because I feel indebted to her. I don't want to marry someone when, deep down, I know that my feelings are no longer the same. - I feel guilty because of everything she has done for me, but at the same time, I don't think I can continue pretending that I still have the same feelings. - I am seriously considering ending the relationship, but I am confused about whether I am being selfish or ungrateful. *What would you honestly advise me to do in this situation?* - Should I stay because of everything she has sacrificed for me, or should I be honest about how I feel and end the relationship before marriage and continue with the new girl i have feelings on?
