Unofficial Translation Press Release The Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, wishes to inform the public as well as members of national and international media as follows: On Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 01:45 p.m., the Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG) of the Kingdom of Cambodia coordinated a visit for the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT), led by the Head of Mission of the ASEAN Observer Team (HOM AOT) from the Philippines, to observe, verify, and visit displaced civilian at Pong Ro commune, Chong Kal district, Oddar Meanchey province, with a total of 490 families, equivalent to 1,980 people. The displaced civilian have not yet been able to return to their homes due to the illegal occupation of Cambodian territory by Thai military forces in certain areas, which includes the deployment of barbed wire, shipping containers, and the destruction of their houses. The ASEAN Observer Team's (AOT) observation, verification, and visit to displaced civilian who remain unable to return home underscore the absolute necessity for the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) to launch border demarcation work as soon as possible. This alignment adheres to existing agreements, specifically point three of the Joint Statement from the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) on December 27, 2025, which aims to ensure that our citizens can safely, peacefully, and with dignity return to their homes without any obstruction. Cambodia maintains a firm stance on protecting the Cambodia–Thailand international border as established by the Indochina–Siam Boundary Commission, by respecting the principles of international law, including the principle of the intangibility of inherited borders (Uti Possidetis Juris), and by respecting the Franco–Siamese conventions and treaties, maps, and the procès-verbaux of the Commission of the Abornement of the Boundary between Indo-China and Siam, as well as relevant agreements and documents that both parties have previously agreed upon. Cambodia absolutely does not recognize any border alterations resulting from the use of force. Unofficial Translation Press Release The Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, wishes to inform the public as well as members of national and international media as follows: On Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 9:35 a.m., the Coordination Group (CLG) of the Kingdom of Cambodia facilitated the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT), led by the Head of Mission (HOM AOT) of the Philippines, to observe, verify, and report on the border situation at Prasat Ta Mone Sen Chey Pagoda, Ta Mone Sen Chey Village, Kok Mon Commune, Banteay Ampil District, Oddar Meanchey Province. The mission aimed to review compliance with and implementation of all measures outlined in the Joint Statement after the ceasefire took effect. It should also be noted that the locations indiscriminately attacked by the Thai military were entirely civilian infrastructure including school, hospital, Pagoda, and homes of innocent Cambodia civilians causing extensive damage and rendering them completely unusable. The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia reaffirm our firm, sincere, and unwavering commitment to fully and faithfully respect and implement the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thai General Border Committee (GBC) of 27 December 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand of 26 October 2025, and all other relevant agreements. This area was subjected to attacks, the installation of barbed wire, and the unlawful deployment of container structures by the Thai military. As a result, many Cambodian families have not yet been able to return to their homes. The visit also included monitoring compliance with and implementation of all measures stipulated in the Joint Statement following the entry into force of the ceasefire. Unofficial Translation Press Release The Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, wishes to inform the public as well as members of national and international media as follows: On Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 9:05 a.m., the Coordination Group (CLG) of the Kingdom of Cambodia coordinated with the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT), led by the Head of Mission (HOM AOT) of the Philippines, to observe, verify, and report on the border situation at the Choam International Border Checkpoint and other affected areas in Trapaing Prey commune, Anlong Veng district, Oddar Meanchey province. These areas had been attacked, enclosed with barbed wire, and illegally occupied by the Thai military. The mission also aimed to review compliance with and implementation of all measures outlined in the Joint Statement following the entry into force of the ceasefire. Cambodia categorically rejects any change to the border line resulting from the use of force. This underscores the absolute necessity for the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) to commence demarcation work as soon as possible, in accordance with the existing agreement as stated in point three of the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) on December 27, 2025, which aims to ensure that our citizens can safely, peacefully, and with dignity return to their homes without any obstruction.
