Press Release of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia: The ASEAN Observer Team in Cambodia (AOT-KH), led by the Head of Mission (AOT-KH HOM) from the Republic of the Philippines, was on a field visit to observe, verify, and report on the situation along the Cambodia–Thailand border. Unofficial Translation Press Release The Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia wishes to inform the general public, as well as members of the national and international media outlets, as follows: On Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., the Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG) coordinated a field visit for the ASEAN Observer Team in Cambodia (AOT-KH), led by the Head of Mission (AOT-KH HOM) from the Republic of the Philippines, to observe, verify, and report on the situation along the Cambodia–Thailand border. The team also inspected the deployment of shipping containers, installation of barbed wire, excavation of trenches, construction of bunkers and roads on Cambodian territory, as well as the illegal occupation by the Thai military at the O’Smach International Point of Entry, particularly in the area of the construction workers’ camp located in O’Smach Village, O’Smach district, Samraong Municipality, Oddar Meanchey Province. These actions have prevented many Cambodian families from returning home. It should also be emphasized that the abovementioned location is an area inhabited entirely by innocent civilians. In December 2025, Thai military forces attacked the area with F-16 airstrikes and numerous artillery shells of various types, causing extensive destruction and severe damage to civilian homes, property, and infrastructure. The ASEAN Observer Team’s (AOT) observation, verification, and reporting at the abovementioned location underscore the absolute necessity for the Cambodia–Thailand Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) to commence border survey and demarcation work as soon as possible. This is in accordance with the existing agreements, particularly Point Four of the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC), dated December 27, 2025, to ensure that innocent Cambodian civilians can safely, peacefully, and with dignity return to their homes without any obstruction. Unofficial Translation Press Release The Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia wishes to inform the public as well as members of national and international media as follows: On Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., the Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG) coordinated a field visit for the ASEAN Observer Team in Cambodia (AOT-KH), led by the Head of Mission (AOT KH HOM) from the Philippines to observe, verify, and report on the situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border, and to inspect the illegal deployment of shipping containers, installation of barbed wire, construction of trenches, embankments, and roads, and occupation of Cambodian territory by Thai military forces at the O’ Smach International Point of Entry, in the O’ Kla Khmom area of O’ Kla Khmom Village, O’ Smach District, Samrong Municipality, Oddar Meanchey Province, which has prevented 366 Cambodian civilians—equivalent to 98 families (including 190 women and 101 children)—from returning to their homes. The ASEAN Observer Team's (AOT) observation, verification, and report at the abovementioned locations underscore the absolute necessity for the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) to launch border demarcation work as soon as possible. This alignment adheres to existing agreements, specifically point four of the Joint Statement from the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) on December 27, 2025, which aims to ensure that our citizens can safely, peacefully, and with dignity return to their homes without any obstruction. Cambodia maintains a firm stance on protecting the Cambodia–Thailand international border as inherited from the Commission of Delimitation of the Boundary between Indo-China and Siam, in full and strict respect of international law principles, the principle of the inviolability of frontier (Uti Possidetis Juris), the Franco-Siamese Conventions and Treaties, the Protocol concerning the delimitation of the boundary, Maps which are the result of the demarcation works of the  Commissions of Delimitation of the boundary between Indo-China and Siam, the Procès-Verbaux of the meeting and Procès-Verbaux of Abornement of the Commissions between Indo-China and Siam, the MOU 2000, the TOR 2003, as well as relevant agreements and documents previously agreed upon by both parties. In this sense, Cambodia absolutely does not recognize any border alterations resulting from the use of force and illegal territorial occupation through the creation of a fait accompli on the ground, and will continue to formally protest to the Thai side against any unilateral or abusive actions by the Thai side against Cambodia's legitimate territorial integrity. Unofficial Translation Press Release The Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, wishes to inform the public as well as members of national and international media as follows: On Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 08:25a.m, the Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG) coordinated a field visit for the ASEAN Observer Team in Cambodia (AOT-KH), led by the Head of Mission (AOT KH HOM) from the Philippines to observe, verify, and report on the situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border, as well as inspected the illegal deployment of shipping containers by the Thai military across 14 locations, totaling 44 containers, in  in the area of the Boeung Trakoun Border Checkpoint area, Kouk Romiet Commune, Tmor Pouk District, Banteay Meanchey Province, which has prevented 7,873 Cambodian civilians—equivalent to 1,869 families (including 1,847 children)—from returning to their homes. The ASEAN Observer Team's (AOT) observation, verification, and report at the abovementioned locations underscore the absolute necessity for the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) to launch border demarcation work as soon as possible. This alignment adheres to existing agreements, specifically point four of the Joint Statement from the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) on December 27, 2025, which aims to ensure that our citizens can safely, peacefully, and with dignity return to their homes without any obstruction. Cambodia maintains a firm stance on protecting the Cambodia–Thailand international border as established by the Indochina–Siam Boundary Commission, by respecting the principles of international law, including the principle of the intangibility of inherited borders (Uti Possidetis Juris), and by respecting the Franco–Siamese conventions and treaties, maps, and the procès-verbaux of the Commission of the Abornement of the Boundary between Indo-China and Siam, the MOU 2000, the TOR 2003, as well as relevant agreements and documents that both parties have previously agreed upon. In this sense, Cambodia absolutely does not recognize any border alterations resulting from the use of force and illegal territorial occupation through the creation of a fait accompli on the ground, and will continue to formally protest to the Thai side against any unilateral or abusive actions by the Thai side against Cambodia's legitimate territorial integrity. សេចក្តីប្រកាសព័ត៌មាន អ្នកនាំពាក្យក្រសួងការពារជាតិ នៃព្រះរាជាណាចក្រកម្ពុជា សូមជម្រាបជូនសាធារណជន អ្នកសារព័ត៌មានជាតិ និងអន្តរជាតិមេត្តាជ្រាបថា៖ នៅថ្ងៃសៅរ៍ ទី២២ ខែសីហា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ វេលាម៉ោង ០៨:៣២នាទីព្រឹក ក្រុមអ្នកសម្របសម្រួល (CLG) នៃព្រះរាជាណាចក្រកម្ពុជា បានសម្របសម្រួលជូនក្រុមអ្នកសង្កេតការណ៍អាស៊ានប្រចាំព្រះរាជាណាចក្រកម្ពុជា (ASEAN Observer Team–Cambodia: AOT-KH) ដឹកនាំដោយ ប្រធានបេសកកម្មក្រុមអ្នកសង្កេតការណ៍អាស៊ាន (AOT KH HOM) ពីសាធារណរដ្ឋហ្វីលីពីន ចុះសង្កេតការណ៍ផ្ទៀងផ្ទាត់ រាយការណ៍អំពីស្ថានភាពតាមបណ្តោយព្រំដែនកម្ពុជា-ថៃ និងត្រួតពិនិត្យការដាក់ពង្រាយទូកុងតឺន័រកាន់កាប់ដោយខុសច្បាប់របស់យោធាថៃនូវទីតាំងចំនួន ០៥ ដែលមានទូរកុងតឺន័រសរុបចំនួន ៦២ ស្ថិតនៅចំណុចតំបន់ភូមិជោគជ័យ ឃុំអូរបីជាន់ ស្រុកអូរជ្រៅ ខេត្តបន្ទាយមានជ័យ ដែលបណ្តាលឱ្យប្រជាពលរដ្ឋស៊ីវិលកម្ពុជាចំនួន ៣៩៥១នាក់ ស្មើនឹង ១០៤៥គ្រួសារ (ក្នុងនោះមានកុមារចំនួន ១១៥៥នាក់) មិនទាន់អាចវិលត្រឡប់ទៅកាន់លំនៅដ្ឋានវិញបាននៅឡើយ។ ការចុះសង្កេតការណ៍របស់ក្រុមអ្នកសង្កេតការណ៍អាស៊ាន នៅទីតាំងដែលជាដែនអធិបតេយ្យរបស់កម្ពុជា ហើយត្រូវបានយោធាថៃកាន់កាប់ដោយខុសច្បាប់ខាងលើនេះបានគូសបញ្ជាក់ និងសង្កត់ធ្ងន់ពីភាពចាំបាច់ជាដាច់ខាតក្នុងការចាប់ផ្តើមកិច្ចការវាស់វែងខណ្ឌសីមាដោយគណៈកម្មការចម្រុះខណ្ឌសីមាព្រំដែនគោក (JBC) កម្ពុជា-ថៃ ឱ្យបានឆាប់បំផុត ស្របតាមកិច្ចព្រមព្រៀងដែលមានស្រាប់ដូចមានចែងនៅក្នុងចំនុចទីបួននៃសេចក្តីប្រកាសរួមនៃកិច្ចប្រជុំពិសេសលើកទី៣ នៃគណៈកម្មាធិការព្រំដែនទូទៅកម្ពុជា-ថៃ (GBC) ថ្ងៃទី២៧ ខែធ្នូ ឆ្នាំ២០២៥ ដើម្បីអនុញ្ញាតឱ្យប្រជាពលរដ្ឋយើងអាចវិលត្រលប់ទៅលំនៅដ្ឋានវិញដោយមិនមានការរារាំង ព្រមទាំងដោយសុវត្ថិភាព និងកិត្តិយស។ កម្ពុជាប្រកាន់ជំហរយ៉ាងម៉ឺងម៉ាត់ក្នុងការការពារខ្សែព្រំដែនអន្តរជាតិកម្ពុជា-ថៃ ដែលបន្សល់ទុកដោយគណៈកម្មការព្រំដែនឥណ្ឌូចិន-សៀម ដោយគោរពគោលការណ៍ច្បាប់អន្តរជាតិ គោលការណ៍ខ្សែព្រំដែនមិនកែប្រែ (Uti Possidetis Juris) គោរពអនុសញ្ញា សន្ធិសញ្ញាបារាំង-សៀម ផែនទី និងកំណត់ហេតុបោះបង្គោលព្រំដែនរបស់គណៈកម្មការបោះបង្គោលព្រំដែនឥណ្ឌូចិន-សៀម ព្រមទាំងកិច្ចព្រមព្រៀង និងឯកសារពាក់ព័ន្ធនានាដែលភាគីទាំងពីរបានឯកភាពគ្នានាពេលកន្លងមក។ កម្ពុជាមិនទទួលស្គាល់ជាដាច់ខាតនូវការកែប្រែខ្សែព្រំដែនណាមួយដែលកើតចេញពីការប្រើប្រាស់កម្លាំងនោះឡើយ។ អាស្រ័យដូចបានជម្រាបជូនខាងលើ សូមសាធារណជន អ្នកសារព័ត៌មានជាតិ និងអន្តរជាតិជ្រាបជាព័ត៌មាន៕ ថ្ងៃសៅរ៍ ៩កើត ខែស្រាពណ៍ ឆ្នាំមមី អដ្ឋស័ក ព.ស.២៥៧០ ត្រូវនឹងថ្ងៃទី២២ ខែសីហា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ ____ 🌐 គេហទំព័រ ក្រសួងការពារជាតិ 🌐 ក្រសួងការពារជាតិ 🌐 TEA Seiha/ទៀ សីហា 🌐 X(Twitter): ក្រសួងការពារជាតិ 🌐 YouTube: ក្រសួងការពារជាតិ 🌐 Tiktok: ក្រសួងការពារជាតិ
