General Mazloum Abdi: ISIS still poses a threat. ISIS remains organized and is increasingly re-establishing its presence inside cities. Although it is weaker than before it cannot be considered defeated or finished and still retains an organized structure capable of posing a threat.

▪️ The Kurdish Areas: These Kurdish areas belong to us, and we will fight for them. I told the Americans and the Syrian state that the Kurdish areas are not Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, and that we will fight for them until the very last moment. ▪️ Criticism of the Leadership: I give the Kurdish people the right to criticize me and tell me where I made mistakes. ▪️ Preventing Another War: I promised my people that I would do everything in my power to prevent dragging the Kurdish people into a second war in the Kurdish areas and to ensure stability there. ▪️ Continuing the Struggle: Once I see stability in the Kurdish areas, we will continue our struggle for Kurdistan. ▪️ Transition from Military to Political: When I came to Rojava, I was engaged in political struggle. But after the war broke out across Syria in 2013, we were forced to wear military uniforms. Now it is time for me to take it off. ▪️ Military and Political Role: When circumstances require me to be a soldier, I will be a soldier for my people. And if circumstances require me to be a politician, I will be a politician for the sake of my Kurdish people. ▪️ Kobani: When I was studying in secondary school, I brought paint and changed all the names of the schools in Kobani to the names of Kurdish martyrs. At the time, however, Syrian intelligence arrested many of us. ▪️ Thanks to the Kurdish People: I would like to thank all the Kurdish people throughout Kurdistan for their support for me in Rojava. I tell them that we suffered greatly over the deaths and capture of many of our comrades, but we held ourselves accountable. ▪️ The New Phase: We are moving into a new phase with the Syrian government, one that is very important for Rojava, and we will oversee it. We need a new struggle, and we want our people to remain hopeful and participate with us so that we can guarantee the rights of the Kurdish people in Rojava. ▪️ Afrin Brigade and Local Service: A brigade will be formed from young men from Afrin who were previously part of the SDF. It will be affiliated with the Syrian Ministry of Defense in Afrin or nearby, so that they can organize themselves and protect their areas.

▪️ Parts of Kurdistan: Rojava helped all parts of Kurdistan, and people from all parts of Kurdistan came to defend Rojava. We will never forget the blood of the martyrs. ▪️ The Syrian State: We have entered a new phase and decided to become part of the new Syrian state, and the new Syrian leadership has agreed to this. ▪️ Rojava’s New Phase: We are moving into a new and important phase with the Syrian government. It is a very important phase for Rojava, and we will work to follow and oversee it through a new struggle and shared responsibility. We emphasize that our people must remain hopeful and be partners and active participants in this phase, in a way that guarantees the rights of the Kurdish people in Rojava and preserves their gains. ▪️ Decentralization: Centralized rule, like the rule of Assad, must not be repeated in Syria. Syria must be decentralized. This system has been tried and failed, and we must not repeat what failed before. ▪️ Idlib: I do not believe that the al-Sharaa government developed Idlib. During the days of the previous regime, our situation was all similar. ▪️ War with Turkey: Before the fall of the Assad government, we were still at war with Turkey, which was bombing all the infrastructure in Rojava, including electricity and everything else related to infrastructure. ▪️ Coordination with Turkey: Coordination with Turkey takes place regarding all parts of Kurdistan. ▪️ Turkey’s Position: Turkey had already taken all possible measures against us in all parts of Kurdistan. ▪️ Formula for Integration: We do not want to use the word “dissolution”; rather, we want to say “the SDF’s joining the Syrian army.” ▪️ Kurds Within the State: We want the Kurds to be part of this state and not outside its framework as they were previously. ▪️ Kurdish Politicians: The Kurdish politicians who will be present in Damascus are now ready and waiting for the integration process to be completed. ▪️ Sheikh Maqsoud: We were defeated in Sheikh Maqsoud, and we should have protected it. This requires criticism, and we take responsibility. ▪️ Other Areas: Regarding the other areas, we were not defeated there; rather, we withdrew from them according to the agreements. ▪️ Deir Hafer: During our withdrawal from Deir Hafer and the areas beyond it, many mistakes and clashes occurred. We are conducting self-criticism before our people and criticizing ourselves. However, there is no doubt that we should have made the withdrawal faster in order to redeploy in the Kurdish areas, because Rojava was under threat at the time and the Kurdish areas had to be protected. ▪️ Deployment in Kurdish Areas: We withdrew, but we redeployed in our areas, such as Hasakah and Kobani. I personally went out and said that we would defend our areas and would not retreat. ▪️ Oil Facilities: The oil sites that were under our control, such as Rmeilan, Suwaydiyah, and others, were officially handed over to the Syrian state. ▪️ American Companies: American companies are now coming and operating here. They have contracts with the Syrian state, and they have taken over and manage this file. ▪️ Ceasefire: Later, we reached an agreement to stop the war in order to avoid human losses on both sides. This agreement was necessary. ▪️ Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor: We left Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor because the war expanded, and we had to return to the Kurdish areas and fight there. ▪️ Recent Events: Regarding the latest events that took place, we held each other accountable, and everything that happened will be revealed to our people. ▪️ The Objective: Our decision and objective were solely to protect the Kurdish areas. ▪️ France: France is our biggest supporter. ▪️ Macron: I would like to thank French President Macron for expressing his position regarding the integration. He spoke with me by phone several times before the war broke out and established coordination between us to prevent clashes during the process of deterring the aggression. ▪️ America: America did not betray us, and it did not make us any promises.

▪️ Rojava’s Struggle: Rojava’s struggle has not gone to waste, nor has it been without results as some claim. That is absolutely not the case. ▪️ Language Rights: We rejected guarantees for language rights; our struggle is based on our language, and the Kurdish language will be taught in universities as an official language. ▪️ The Future of the SDF: There is no such thing as the “dissolution of the Syrian Democratic Forces.” The SDF will remain with its strength and military structure within the Syrian army and will operate under a different system. ▪️ Identity and Leadership: The SDF will join the Syrian army while preserving its identity, strength, Kurdish commanders, and its own names derived from its regions, such as the Qamishlo Brigade and the Kobani Brigade. ▪️ Afrin Brigade: Work is currently underway to establish a Kurdish brigade specifically for the city of Afrin. ▪️ Military Service: The Kurdish people can perform their military duty only in their own region, not elsewhere. ▪️ Political Work and Filling the Vacuum: When the SDF fully joins the Syrian army, this will create a political vacuum. Over 15 years, the SDF has demonstrated its political presence. I have said before, and I repeat, that I will work and sacrifice for my people, be part of them, and strive to serve them. The vacuum created by the SDF’s integration must be filled. Therefore, I will continue the SDF’s political approach, whether inside or outside Syria, and the SDF’s policy will remain in place. ▪️ Political Parties: I have not thought about establishing political parties, but as I said, we must work on the military vacuum that will be created after the SDF’s integration. ▪️ Residence in Damascus: Many officials of the interim government repeatedly offered and insisted that I remain in Damascus, but we did not reach an agreement on this matter. I prefer to live and remain among my people. ▪️ January 29 Agreement: It protected the Kurds from massacres. It may not meet our aspirations, but it gives the Kurds a place within the Syrian state, and we hope to enshrine the rights stipulated in it within the Syrian constitution. ▪️ Legislative Decree: The decree that granted rights to the Kurds is still insufficient, and we believe these rights need to be constitutionally guaranteed. ▪️ The Specificity of Kurdish Areas: The January 29 Agreement referred to the Kurdish areas and their particularity, and we hope to enshrine these rights, which the president signed, in the constitution. ▪️ Kurdish Language: The Kurdish language must be taught because we have been learning it through a special curriculum for 14 years. We have been informed that both Arabic and Kurdish should be taught together, and there are committees following up on this issue. ▪️ SDF Integration: I will not announce the dissolution of the SDF, but rather the completion of the process of integrating our forces into the Syrian army. ▪️ Integration Timeline: We intend to complete the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces into the Syrian army this month, and we have developed a strategic plan to fully complete the integration process by the end of this month. ▪️ Military Formations: The SDF will retain its structure under new designations, such as the Qamishlo Brigade, Dêrik Brigade, and Kobani Brigade, and we are working to establish an Afrin Brigade. ▪️ Afrin Brigade: In principle, this is already agreed upon. There was an understanding with the Syrian Ministry of Defense that young men from Afrin who were previously part of the SDF would operate as brigades affiliated with the ministry in Afrin or nearby, organize themselves, and carry out the task of protecting their areas. ▪️ Kurdish Particularity: Kurdish particularity has been accepted both militarily and administratively. ▪️ Turkey and Öcalan: I am ready to visit Turkey if the circumstances are appropriate. Öcalan played a role in reaching an agreement, and he will continue to have a role.

General Mazloum Abdi delivers a speech during the centenary of the city of Qamishlo: ▪️ Despite the mistakes and shortcomings that accompanied the SDF’s journey, it protected the region and its people under the most difficult circumstances. ▪️ Today, with the beginning of the integration phase with the government, we announce that we are entering a new phase and a new process. ▪️ We fought an existential battle, and thousands of martyrs gave their lives in defense of their land and people. ▪️ We were not alone; our brothers and sisters from the other three parts of Kurdistan came to support us and stand by our side. ▪️ To everyone who supported and stood by us, and to everyone who sacrificed a martyr, a friend, and a piece of their heart, we say: Thank you, and we will never forget your sacrifices. ▪️ Despite the shortcomings and mistakes, you remained with us and stood by our side, and this loyalty will never be forgotten. ▪️ Today, we announce the beginning of a new process in our areas, whose title is continuing to work for the rights of our people. ▪️ The next battle will be political, and we will continue our struggle more strongly to establish the rights of the Kurdish people in the constitution. ▪️ We must work together and make the rights of the Kurdish people and their constitutional existence a permanent part of Syria’s future. ▪️ The martyrs did not sacrifice themselves for a temporary phase, but for a better future for their people. Our duty today is to preserve what has been achieved and to continue the path politically with full strength and unity.

A new Turkish military convoy has entered the Afrin countryside. Sources in the region reported that approximately 20 Turkish vehicles, loaded with armored vehicles and logistical supplies, entered the area this morning from Turkish territory via the Hamam village crossing point in the Jandaris countryside. According to the sources, the convoy then headed towards the Jandaris district center; this occurred amidst noticeable military activity and the continued flow of military vehicles and supplies in the region. These movements take place during a period of continuous military activity in the Afrin region and its countryside, raising questions about the nature of the tasks assigned to these reinforcements and the final destination of the vehicles and supplies entering the area.

A civilian was killed and his brother wounded this evening after being targeted by unknown gunmen in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside. The motives for the attack and the identity of the perpetrators remain unclear. The two brothers are from the city of Al-Busayrah, which, along with its surrounding areas, experiences frequent shootings and attacks by unknown gunmen amidst ongoing security lapses and the proliferation of unregulated weapons. These incidents raise concerns among residents about the deteriorating security situation and the absence of deterrent measures, amidst escalating murders and violence in several Syrian regions. According to statistics from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the number of recorded felonies and murders in Syrian governorates since the beginning of 2026 has risen to 326, resulting in the deaths of 354 people, including 279 men, 26 children, and 49 women.
