🖊️ COMMENTARY
Life is not a competition; stop competing. It is not a wrestling match; stop scheming to undo yourselves. No one excels only by struggling, but when one receives favour from God and man, his years of struggle are terminated.
From our text today, we observed that Rachel, Jacob's preferred wife, was barren, but her older sister, Leah, who incidentally shared the same husband as her, was fruitful; she gave birth to many sons. This provoked the envy of Rachel, who accused her husband of causing her predicament. In the spirit of rivalry and competition, she gave her maid Bilhah to her husband to raise children for her. Bilhah gave birth to a second son and Rachel named him Nephtali, which means wrestle, fight or struggle. In Hebrew culture, names often reflect a situation, prayer or divine encounters. The boy's name became a reminder of her own struggle with her sister. Gen.30:8 (NET).
As proof that something was wrong with the name, the father, Jacob, in his dying bed, began the reversal of the name, declaring Nephtali an epitome of freedom and graceful words (Gen.49:21).
Many years later, Moses followed it up with a prophecy that Nephtali should overflow with favour and not with struggles.
Instead of developing unhealthy rivalry and competition, desire
favour, pray and await its manifestation. It is the edge we need
over our rivals.

🖊️ COMMENTARY
God does not fail. No matter how long a condition has lasted, or how impossible the solution seems, He remains able to heal, restore, and deliver.
The writer shares a personal testimony of battling hernia for over ten years. Doctors recommended surgery, but he believed God for healing without the knife. After years of prayer and unwavering faith, God stepped in and healing came supernaturally. That is the power of the Able God!
Similarly, Hannah in the Bible was mocked for her barrenness. Her rival, Peninnah, provoked her continually. But Hannah remained faithful in prayer and kept pouring out her heart before God. At the appointed time, God answered and Samuel was born.
Delay is not denial. The enemy may try to use time and shame to silence your hope, but God never forgets. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Whatever long-standing affliction or stagnation you're facing, lift it up to the Able God today. He will show up in power.

🖊️ COMMENTARY
God is able no matter how difficult, how dead, or how hopeless the situation seems. He can turn things around in ways that defy logic and rewrite the story when all seems lost.
Lazarus had been dead for four days. The stone was sealed, and hope was buried. But when Jesus arrived, He commanded, "Roll away the stone." Even though Martha doubted because of the smell, Jesus reminded her, "If you believe, you will see the glory of God."
Jesus lifted His voice, called Lazarus forth, and the man who was dead came back to life. That same power is available to you today.
Maybe your dreams, marriage, health, or finances seem buried—Jesus can bring them back to life. He doesn't need permission from your environment, background, or circumstances. He only needs your faith.
Never forget: The grave doesn't intimidate the One who conquered it.

Commitment is the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc. Therefore, "Total commitment to God" means that Jesus is our sole authority, our guiding light, and our unerring compass. Being committed to Christ means making Christ our first priority, being faithful and fruitful; it means being a servant. A committed Believer's
slogan is simple and direct: "For me to live is Christ" (Phil. 1:21).
Total commitment is required from us because God is committed to His people. No room for partial commitment, because partial commitment is no commitment. The Laodicean's Church had a partial commitment—they were "...neither cold nor hot" (Rev. 3:15, 16). There are ways we show commitment to God:
✓ Daily Prayer. Learn to make prayer a priority
✓ Reading the Bible daily. God's Word strengthens our relationship with God.
✓ Giving our tithes and offerings regularly–it opens
doors for more blessings.
✓ Personal Evangelism –it leads to joy
✓ Regular attendance in Church activities etc--- it builds our faith.
Are you committed? Both Jesus and the Apostles were committed to God's assignment on earth.

The victorious Christian life can be described as the life that is lived, by faith, in a moment-by-moment surrender to God. The word "Victorious" connotes winning or triumph. Therefore, a victorious Christian life is a way of life, a life of consistent victory over sin as well as thriving in the face of difficulties and challenging situations in life.
The following are some keys to a victorious Christian living:
• *Faith:* A victorious Christian life is rooted in faith. Hebrews 11 tells the stories of people who were victorious through faith
• *Love:* According to our Saviour, Jesus, love should be the ruling principle of a Christian's life. He said, through love for one another, His followers will be identified (John 13:35)
• *Prayer:* A life of prayer is a key to a godly life. Form a prayer habit.
• *Obedience:* Obedience has been defined as “Compliance with an order." Obedience to God is a key to a godly life
• *Forgiveness:* Forgiving others is a key to a godly life (Matt. 6: 14, 15; Eph. 4:32)
Beloved, never allow sin to rule over your life. Instead, walk according to the leading of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:1).

🖊️ COMMENTARY
It has been observed that Christian giving is important because it expresses gratitude to God, shows faith in God, and helps people break free from the love of money. Jesus commends giving (Mark 12:41-44), He taught about money about 15% of the time in His teachings. Money was a frequent topic in His parables. God's work on earth needs financial support, and others need our financial assistance too (Luke 10:30-37).
✓ *Our giving is first giving to God:* We do not give to show up or make people rich. Our offerings are not meant for the personal benefit of ministers of God. Giving is first for the glory of God and as an act of worship.
✓ *Our giving comes from the heart:* Giving is a voluntary venture. In Exodus 25:2b, God instructed Moses to receive the Tabernacle "Offering for me from each man whose heart prompts him to give."
✓ *We are to give our very best:* Abel gave his best to God (Gen. 4:4). Do not give remnants. In Exodus 25:3-7, God listed items He wanted for the construction of the tabernacle in the wilderness.
✓ *Our giving is giving to God's work:* In Exodus 25:8, God instructed His people to make Him “A sanctuary that I may dwell among them."
Men are God's method. Angels are messengers of God. We are alive to carry on God's work on earth. Exodus chapters 25-31 describe in detail how Israel's giving was used to make the Tabernacle a reality.

🖊️ COMMENTARY
God's work done God's way will never lack funds. Whenever God carries out a project, He has a plan for such project, whether it is building the Tabernacle or the Temple (1 Chron. 28:11-12,18-19) or a local Church (Phil. 2:12- 13). God instructed Moses to tell Israel to "bring Me an offering. From everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you shall take My offering" (Exo. 25:2).
Believers can give to God only that which He has first given to them. According to David, "Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us! (1 Chron. 29:14, NLT). Exodus 25:4-8 specified the types of offering required for the construction of the Tabernacle. God worked marvelously in the hearts of the people so that they were willing to give generously (cf. II Corinthians 8:1-5,12).
The people brought so much that Moses had to tell them to stop bringing (Exodus 36:6-7). A wonderful testimony! Notice the following from Exodus 35:
• “A willing heart" (v. 5)
• "Every one, whose heart stirred him up"(v. 21)
• "Every one, whose spirit made him willing" (v. 21)
• "As many as were willing hearted" (v. 21)
• "All the women whose heart stirred them up in wisdom" (v. 26)
Everyone gave willingly. O God, we need such willing hearts in our Churches today

🖊️ COMMENTARY
Peace is a valuable way of life that can be beneficial for individuals, communities, and societies as well as the Body of Christ, the Church. Peace is not just the absence of war. Peace can be described as a way of life based on understanding, tolerance and unity. It is a spirit that promotes and heals division. The Bible speaks of peace in four ways:
• "Peace with God" (Rom 5:1l). This is the work of Christ into which the individual enters by faith in Christ (Eph. 2:14-17)
• "Peace" as fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22). When the fruit of
peace is produced within a believer by the Holy Spirit,
he/she can live life to the fullest in harmony and tranquility
in spite ofany circumstances in life.
The peace of God'' (Phil. 4:7). This is an inward peace or
the state of soul that believers enter through faith in Christ.
It is maintained by constant commitment of our lives and
anxieties to God through prayer... (Luke 7:50; Phil. 4:6)
Peace on earth (Luke 2:14; Ps 72:7; Ps 85:10; Isa 9:6,7;
Isa 11:1-12). Jesus' birth brought peace to the earth. This
was the message from the angelic host of Heaven to the
Shepherdat the birth of Jesus (Luke 2:14)
Jesus is called the "Prince of peace" (Isaiah9:6). Therefore, true
peace comes from knowing the Saviour of the world. He saves
from sin (Matt. 1:21). Believers are called “Peacemakers" (Matt.
5:9). Let us try our best to promote peace daily.

🖊️ COMMENTARY
Worry means feeling or cause to feel anxious or troubled about actual or potential problems. A Swedish proverb says, "Worry often gives a small thing a big shadow." Worry can slip into our hearts under the guise of "what if." Often we worry about the necessities of life (v. 25). Because of this, we chase after money and what money can buy over spiritual matters.
Worry is sin, because it suggests that God is not able to deliver us from whatever is causing us to worry. Research reveals that most of us worry about:
1. Money and the future. Fear about our financial security in the future
2. Job Security
3. Relationships
4. Health
Jesus says life is more than food, clothing, and wealth (v. 25). God is able to care for us (v. 26). Jesus added, worry cannot solve any problems (v. 27). Therefore, worry is useless. It is a waste of time to spend our lives in anxious pursuit of food, drinks, and clothing for the future (vv. 31-32). Worry is a kind of insult to the Lord. It reflects a lack of confidence in God and His promises. Worry lacks staying power and perseverance in commitment to God. Learn to live one day at a time. Do not worry because Jesus cares for our present and controls our future (v. 34; I Pet. 5:7). Knowing Peace in God's presence helps us overcome worries (John 14:27).

🖊️ COMMENTARY
Anger has been defined as an emotional reaction to perceived hurt, or provocation. Whileit is natural, anger can easily trigger irrational responses that make us lose control of our ability to think logically. Horace describes "Anger as a "momentary madness." In our main text, Moses fails to understand that anger never helps any person to solve a problem. Instead, it destroys our peace of mind and blinds our ability to reason clearly. Anger distorts our view of reality.
Because of provocation by the people he was leading to the Promised Land" (vv. 2-5),
Moses struck the rock instead of speaking to it. However, the water came (v. 8). God saw Moses action as disobedience he failed to follow God's instruction. God said, he did not trust me to demonstrate my holiness in the sight of the Israelites" (v. 12). The Bible says ... To obey is better than sacrifice..." (1 Sam. 15:22). Both Aaron and Moses were banned from entering the "Promised Land" (v. 12). What a shock! Moses was able to endure difficulties, insults and rebellion from the Israelites, but anger blocked his sense of reasoning from carrying out God's instructions perfectly.
This story is a warning to every believer and spiritual leader- they are written for our admonition (I Cor. 10:11). Moses' action/mistake seems minor in our human assessment. Our sinful actions have consequences (Gal. 6:7). God will notlower His standard because of our human weaknesses. Be
warned!

🖊️ COMMENTARY
Commitment to faithful service in God's Kingdom is the act of serving God with loyalty, trust, and obedience, even when it seems difficult. It involves using the gifts and talents God has given us to serve others and build the Church. Jesus was committed to faithful service while on earth (see John 9:4), In John 5:17, He said: "My Father has been working until now, and I have been working."
Three things are required to serve like Jesus:
✓ *We need to be available* (Prov. 3:28). John Wesley said: “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, by all the ways you can, in all the places you can, and at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as you can."
✓ *Be Grateful* (Psalm 100:2). Gratefulness is the spirit of gratitude, and
✓ *Be Faithful* (John 17:4; 1 Cor. 4:2). Learn to be faithful in your service for God.
Beloved, be committed to faithful service for the work of the LORD. Jesus said, "I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to everyone according to his work" (Rev. 22:12).

🖊️ COMMENTARY
Faithfulness always attracts the favor of God. Daniel and his friends, though captives in Babylon, chose to remain loyal to God rather than conform to the king's lavish lifestyle. Offered the royal food and wine, they respectfully requested a simple diet of vegetables and water trusting that obedience to God mattered more than earthly privilege. This decision, though seemingly small, was a bold step of faith.
At the end of ten days, their obedience was vindicated. They appeared healthier and stronger than all the others who ate from the king's table. Beyond physical well-being, God poured out on them exceptional wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Daniel, in particular, received the special gift of interpreting visions and dreams-a gift that would shape the destiny of nations. When examined by King Nebuchadnezzar, they were found ten times better than all the wise men in his kingdom.
This account offers us timeless lessons:
1. Faithfulness begins with little things. What seems insignificant can becomea test of loyalty to God.
2. God honors obedience. When we put Him first, He grants us strength, wisdom, and favor.
3. Faithfulness leads to influence. Daniel and his friends stood out not by compromise but by conviction, and God elevated them.
In today's world, the pressure to compromise is real. Yet God calls us to choose faithfulness over conformity. True success comes not from blending in but from standing firm in obedience.

🖊️ COMMENTARY
Great rewards await all who faithfully serve to promote God's work on earth. God will never forget our services rendered for His Kingdom. Such people will receive a commendation: Well done, good and faithful servant; .., I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord" (Matt. 25:23).
Almost at the end of Paul's journey on earth he declares, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" (I Tim.4:7). He goes further to say,
there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day..." (v. 8). According to Philippians 2:19-30, Paul recommended two servants of God who served faithfully: Timothy and Epaphroditus.
a.) Timothy was a "like-minded man who cares for God's people (v. 20),
b) Epaphroditus is described as a faithful brother, fellow worker, and fellow soldier" (v. 25). Make yourself
available for Kingdom service in your local Church and beyond. Blessings await all who have loved His appearing" (II Tim. 4:8).

🖊️ COMMENTARY
Loyalty to God is a central theme in the Bible, embodying unwavering faithfulness, obedience, and devotion. It means committing to live according to His will and prioritizing Him above all else.
Loyalty to God has profound rewards. For example, Joseph exemplified loyalty through integrity, remaining steadfast despite false accusations (Genesis 39:9) and eventually rising to power in Egypt (Genesis 41:41). Daniel demonstrated loyalty in prayer, continuing to worship God despite a decree against it (Daniel 6:10), leading to his miraculous deliverance from lions (Daniel 6:22, 28).
Ruth's loyalty to Naomi and her acceptance of her God (Ruth 1:16) made her part of Christ's lineage (Ruth 4:13; Matthew 1:5). Esther's loyalty to her people (Esther 4:16) earned her favor with the king, leading to their salvation (Esther 8:17).Jesus Christ exemplified ultimate loyalty by submitting to the Father's will, even unto death (Luke 22:42), resulting in His exaltation (Philippians 2:9-11).
Loyalty to God brings divine rewards -protection, promotion, purpose, and eternal glory. Each individual in the above example stood firm with God, and their faithfulness was honoured. Today brings before you another privilege to show Him that you are loyal to Him.

🖊️ COMMENTARY
We might think this verse was written specifically for this time because some people in the church are becoming ideal and busy bodies, depending on the church to meet their personal needs. The apostle Paul admonished some members of the Thessalonian church to return to their jobs, because some people were idle and became disruptive in the church.
From our text today, Paul referred to those who were able but refused to work, directing their attention into other people's business as busybodies. Busybodies can look busy, but in reality they are busy with things that don't concern them. As a result, they neglect the work they should be doing. A busy body can also be an idle person who ends up filling his or her time with less-than- helpful activities like gossiping, rumour-mongering and tale- bearing.
Every believer in Christ must work, do something, don't be idle. It was William Shakespeare in one of his writings (King Lear) that said, 'Nothing will come of nothing." Going to work, striving for success without hard work is like trying to harvest where you haven't planted. John Mason once said "None of the secrets of success will work unless you do". So why stay idle waiting for a big job or heavy financial downpour? Before you get the big job you are expecting, start with that small one that is available. It is better than being idle.

🖊️ COMMENTARY
From our text today, the elders of Israel were understood to have wept. But why were the elders weeping? The problem was that they remembered the glory of Solomon's temple looking at this replacement which could never be compared to the one destroyed. They were so discouraged, they stopped working. In fact, they were so busy, grieving over what was lost.
However, God promised them that the glory of the latter house would be greater than the former. Sometimes, when God is doing something, He does not reveal the total package and what He is doing may not match our expectations. The truth is that He knows what He wants, and He knows better. The older generation of the Israelites saw physical structure, but to God it was about the glory, something much more than physical structure (container). The glory of the latter house shall be
greater than the former."
Do not grieve over the past. Remember that it is God's work that
you are doing. And when it is God's work, that means God will
be at work. He is doing something. Cooperate with Him, He will strengthen you. He does not have unfinished projects. You can rest assured that He will continue that work, developing and perfectingit and will bring it to full completion.

🖊️ COMMENTARY
The love of a father for his children is very enduring. Even when children commit acts that no human being should tolerate, fathers overlook them and continue to love their children. Diverse situations may also arise where many will think, "It's a pity; his father will give up on him." But to their shock, he springs up with yet a stronger show of his unfailing love for his child.
Our team once visited a pastor's church and met a woman crying.
On inquiry, it was discovered that the woman's son was in the hospital, sick from fuel explosion. She said that among their children, the boy was the most stubborn. The boy was hospitalized, wrapped with a bandage. Only his eyes, nostrils, mouth and ears were left unwrapped. His body was rotten and smelling so much that maggots were coming out of his body. To the amazement of everyone, his father rarely left his bedside. He was always there with reassuring words of love and encouragement. At such a point, many would have abandoned the boy in the hands of nurses and other hospital attendants, but the father was there. What a picture of God's tender love and care.
Patiently and untiringly, God is loving and caring.
What an undeserving privilege! AIl that is required of us is to live in righteousness 'even as He is righteous; so that when He appears, we shall be like Him. The love of God is ever available unto us; we should live, work, walk and also believe in His faithfulness.
