🍲 EVANGEL DAILY MEAL– A.G DAILY DEVOTIONAL ----------------------------------- FRIDAY 17TH JULY, 2026 TOPIC: TRUSTING GOD IN TIMES OF TROUBLE 📖 FURTHER READING PSALM 3:1–10 🔑 KEY VERSE: "But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head.'" -(Psalm 3:3, NKJV) 📜 ONE YEAR STUDY PLAN ISAIAH 18–22 🖊️ COMMENTARY Psalm 3 is a heartfelt prayer from David during one of the darkest seasons of his life when he fled from his own son, Absalom, who had rebelled against him. Surrounded by enemies and betrayed by family, David was not only outnumbered but also ridiculed. Yet, in the midst of despair, David chose to put his trust fully in the Lord. This psalm reminds us that no one is exempt from trials. Even those who walk faithfully with God will face seasons of difficulty. But the believer's response must mirror David's: acknowledge the reality of trouble, yet refuse to let fear or discouraging voices shake your confidence in God. David shifted his gaze from his enemies to the Lord, he declared that God is his Shield - our protector against the attacks of the enemy. His Glory – the source of our honor, confidence, and strength. The Lifter of His Head- the One who restores hope and dignity when life tries to weigh us down. Our text today, teaches us that: • Troubles will come, but they are not the end. • God is always near–our defender, our shield, and our sustainer. • Peace is possible, even in the midst of storms, when we place our trust in the Lord. Surrender your battles to Him today. (Rom. 1:12, NIV) 📜 ONE YEAR STUDY PLAN ISAIAH 13–17 🖊️ COMMENTARY Christian faith and practices are based on mutual encouragement. Paul, an apostle of our Lord Jesus Christ, appreciated the steadfastness and faith of the Roman Church. He commended their faithfulness. He knew they had the need of prayers to sustain their faith; not only prayers, but also the gift of the Spirit. Paul had some spiritual gifts that would help these believers to continue steadfastly, and so he expressed willingness to visit this Church to encourage them. Meanwhile, Paul was already encouraged by the report of their faithfulness. He also desired to be encouraged by those Christians in Rome. Today, in our various worship centres, we need cooperation, we need mutual encouragement, we need unity and love, and we also need peace. We can achieve these things when we understand that we are one another's keeper. We should bear the burdens of fellow believers and share things in common. We are to pray and admonish one another through the Word of Life and songs of praise. Through corporate worship we can strengthen our relationship with God. Let us, like Paul, desire the welfare of other believers. Let us support ourselves through visitation, counselling, sharing and praying for one another. If you pray for me and I pray for you, the Church will be encouraged. This new position could come by promotion, selection or election. Stepping into a higher office is not easy. You have not been there before and somehow you are not sure that you can handle it. In times like this, you need to be strong and courageous. You do not have to be afraid or discouraged. One sure way to be strong and courageous is to know that God is with you as you depend on Him always. As a believer, you have an advantage of divine assistance. Are you occupying an important position in the Church, in the market place, in a tertiary institution; are you a top government officer, a Chief Executive Officer of a bank or a labour leader? Whatever new assignment you are being entrusted with; you can be sure that God will always be there to help you. Wherever you are, whatever you are called to do, the key to your success is to be strong and courageous, to be guided by the word of God, and to cultivate the attitude of seeking the presence of God. 🍲 EVANGEL DAILY MEAL– A.G DAILY DEVOTIONAL ----------------------------------- TUESDAY 14TH JULY, 2026 TOPIC: FAITH AND TENACITY 📖 FURTHER READING MARK 7:24–30 🔑 KEY VERSE: "Lord, she replied, "even the dogs under the table cat the children's crumbs." (Mark 7:29, NIV). 📜 ONE YEAR STUDY PLAN MICAH 1–7 🖊️ COMMENTARY Tenacity, or being tenacious, is defined as "being persistent in maintaining, or adhering to, or seeking something valued or desired." This definition aptly fits the attitude of the woman in our text today. That she did not give up even after being "derogatorily" referred to as "dog" shows that she would not mind any insults provided she got a miracle for her daughter. Jesus was just being "theological" and "dispensational" about the situation, teaching that it was the time of the Jews, and not yet the time of the Gentiles, to receive such blessings from God, until after His death and resurrection, but the woman insisted and persisted, with rare tenacity that the protocol was broken and embargo lifted before the time comes. There is another corresponding lesson from the widow who would not give up until the King attended to her matter (Luke 18:1-8). Therefore, do not give up. God will surely reward your tenacity with healing, fruit of the womb, employment, marriage, promotion, etc. This is the time of the Gentiles. You are entitled to the bread of the children and not the crumbs that fall under the table. You are no longer a dog, but a child of God, and joint heir with Christ. (Mark 11:24). 📜 *ONE YEAR STUDY PLAN* AMOS 6–9 🖊️ *COMMENTARY* Faith is the foundation upon which the Christian life is built. It is through faith that we experience the miraculous, laying hold of God's unseen promises and stepping beyond the boundaries of our comfort zones to trust His perfect plan, (Hebrews 11:1). Kenneth Hagin, often stressed that prayer is the clearest expression of our faith. In one of his well-known illustrations, he told of a woman who prayed earnestly for her husband's salvation. Though years passed without visible change, she held firmly to God's promise with unwavering trust. At God's perfect timing, her husband had a life-transforming encounter with Christ. Hagin used this testimony to highlight a timeless principle: faith-filled prayer is never passive. It is a persistent, dynamic engagement with God that aligns our hearts with His will. Prayer, when rooted in genuine faith, is no longer a ritual but an empowering act of trust. It enables us to let go of doubt and embrace the confidence that God is able to do exceedingly above what we can ask or imagine. Every prayer offered in faith not only brings us nearer to the heart of God but also strengthens our resolve to live in alignment with His will. True faith rests in the One who holds every answer in His hands. It recognizes the unchanging truth of God's Word and the certainty of His promises. (A CHALLENGE TO PARENTS AND GUARDIANS)* 📖 *FURTHER READING* JOHN 10:11–16 🔑 *KEY VERSE:* "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me'" (John 10:14). 📜 *ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN* 2 KINGS 14 2 CHRONICLES 25 🖊️ *COMMENTARY* Generation Z, or Gen Z in short, is those born roughly from the late 1990s to early 2010s. They are coming of age in a world unlike any we grew up in. They've never known a world without the internet. They've faced global crises before adulthood. They carry a burden of anxiety, identity confusion, and cultural pressure that many of us never had to navigate at their age. Yet, they are also bold, curious, creative and spiritually hungry, though perhaps not in the ways we expect. Often, parents assume they know their children simply because they raised them. Not how much we've taught them. But how well do we know them? Christ, our model, didn't shepherd from a distance. He listens as much as He leads. If I may ask, parents, are we shepherding our Gen Z children from a distance? Or are we willing to draw close enough to listen without judgment, to learn without assuming, to love without conditions? Do we know their fears? Do we know the voices they're listening to? The doubts they're carrying? The dreams they' ve stopped talking about because they're unsure we'd understand? (Galatians 6:2) 📜 ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN 2 KINGS 12–13 2 CHRONICLES 24 🖊️ COMMENTARY If you read our text carefully, you will see that we were not told that Moses called for help. Of course, Moses may have realized he was getting tired. Maybe he didn't know what to do to keep his hands up. But Aaron had a word with Hur and both decided that this big man" needed help. They didn't say, "Let God help him." Or Let God tell him to tell us to assist him." They saw the weakness of their brother and leader and took practical steps to cover it up and shore him up. We all get weary from time to time. Sometimes we come close to fainting as we journey along this path. Our body yarns for help, but our lips remain sealed. Sometimes, we may not even realize that we need help, that we are slowing down or even falling. But others see us struggling. Those who see the weakness should not turn it to gossip. They should not hasten the fall so that they can shine in the place of the weak brother. God wants us to reach out and help our brothers in their areas of weakness. This help should start with prayers. A word of encouragement or warning could be in order. A loving and protective action could become necessary. Remember that if one falls, there will be a gap in the chain. 🍲 EVANGEL DAILY MEAL– A.G DAILY DEVOTIONAL ----------------------------------- SATURDAY 4TH JULY, 2026 TOPIC: FERVENTLY PRAYING FOR ONE ANOTHER 📖 FURTHER READING EPHESIANS 3:14-21 🔑 KEY VERSE: "I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, (Eph 3:16, NIV), 📜 ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN 2 KINGS 9–11 🖊️ COMMENTARY Paul the Apostle of Christ devoted himself to prayers not only for himself, but also for the believers, both Jews and Gentiles. He went to God confidently and reverentially because he knew that God would answer his petitions. In one of such prayers, Paul prayed for the Ephesian believers. Today, as we reflect on Paul's prayer for the Ephesian believers, it is necessary that we take to heart the content of his petitions. Prominent in Paul's petition to God for the Ephesians is that God will, out of His glorious riches, strengthen them in their inner being, that Christ may dwell in their hearts through faith. Also, that they may be rooted and established in love and have the power of God. All believers should grasp and understand the greatness of Christ's love and this love that surpasses all knowledge It is important we pray for one another. Just as Paul asked for essential knowledge that would help us in our Christian life and heavenly race, so shall we daily ask for one another. The love of Christ in our innermost being will propel us to remain in the Lord and be united in faith. When we are one in Christ, we are spiritually strengthened. Let us carry one another with fervent prayers as Christ and beloved Paul have taught us. (James 5:16) 📜 ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN 2 KINGS 5–8 🖊️ COMMENTARY Prayer is the heartbeat of the believer's relationship with God. It is far more than a religious duty; it is a lifeline that connects us to His presence, power, and purpose. Jesus underscored the importance of persistence in prayer through the parable of the persistent widow (Luke 18:1-8). In this story, He reminds us that prayer must be consistent, bold, and. anchored in faith. *1. Prayer as a Lifestyle.* Jesus declared, "Men ought always to pray, and not to faint" (Luke 18:1). Prayer is not meant to be our last resort but our first response in every circumstance. Daniel exemplified this discipline: despite the threat of the lion's den, he continued to pray three times a day (Daniel 6:10). Likewise, believers are called to cultivate prayer as a daily habit, regardless of trials or pressures. *2. The Power of Persistence.* In the parable, the widow's persistence moved an unjust judge to grant her request. If persistence could sway an unrighteous man, how much more will our loving and faithful Father respond to His children? *3. Faith and Expectation.* In Prayer, Persistence must be joined with unwavering faith. James 1:6 instructs, But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering." To pray effectively is to approach God with full assurance that He hears and responds. Jesus confirms this in Mark 11:24. 🍲 *EVANGEL DAILY MEAL– A.G DAILY DEVOTIONAL ----------------------------------- THURSDAY 2ND JULY, 2026 TOPIC: WHY YOUR DECREES ARE NOT ESTABLISHED 📖 FURTHER READING JOB 22:21–30 🔑 KEY VERSE: "If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened" (Ps 66:18). 📜 ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN 2 KINGS 1–4 🖊️ COMMENTARY One of the popular Scriptures that is often quoted is John 22:28: "You shall decree a thing, and it shall be granted you." Many Christians quote this verse, especially when waging spiritual warfare. A divorced woman once said that she had decreed many things against her ex-husband., but it baffled her that the man seemed not to have been hit by her prayer bullets. Every promise of God has conditions attached to it. It is by fulfilling these conditions that the promise is realized. If Job 22:28 is examined within its context as read from verses 21-29, you will see that one expecting one's decree to be established should: • Submit to God and be at peace with Him, • Accept instructions from His mouth, • Lay-up God's word in one's heart • Remove iniquity far from one's heart • Make God a top priority. When these conditions are not fulfilled., one's decree cannot be established. Elijah said to Ahab. As long as the Lord lives before whom I stand...." What is your standing before God? When a man stands boldly before God (in righteousness), men and circumstances will bow before him. Talking about Samuel, Scripture says: "...the Lord was with him and never allowed any word from his mouth fall to the ground" (1 Sam. 3:19). Are your prayers not answered; are your decrees not established? SING TO HIM A NEW SONG! 📖 FURTHER READING EXODUS 15:1-11 🔑 KEY VERSE: "Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? Who is ike thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?" (Exodus 15:11) 📜 ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN OBADIAH 1, PSALMS 82-83 🖊️ COMMENTARY The Bible asks us to spread the testimonies of God's great acts among the saints (Psalm 22:22). He is good and His mercies endure forever. The Four Living Beings, the Twenty-Four Elders and the angels in heaven are revealed in (Revelation 4:8-11) as always, day and night, praising God because of Who He is. Immediately the people of Israel crossed the Red Sea, and although every one of them experienced the miracle, they composed a song of testimony, and it is still with us. They told and retold the testimony of the mighty deliverance until thousands of years down the line. We are still being inspired by it. Testimonies glorify God, draws praise to God from men and inspires trust and faith in Him. Even the testifier is blessed again as he retells the wonders of God to him. Their eyes of understanding were opened and they understood in the Spirit how the enemies thought, planned and boasted. They were lifted to see how God countered. They saw God as a mighty giant whose nostril could blow oceans apart and create a highway in between. They saw God as a Man of War leading His armies to victories, flinging their enemies into the sea and burying the horses and their riders. Give God praise. Testify of His goodness and greatness. Battles are both strategized and engaged in all spheres of life. Strong and complicated battles are going on in the realm of the spirit which often affects the physical. Battles, especially, sudden battles bring so much displacement of life an property, view and priority and power and competency. But, the sure desire of God is that His people will come out of any kind of battle unhurt. Joshua assured the people of Israel of God's constant backing in the face of all battles: "One man of you shall chase a thousand, for the Lord your God, He it is that fights for you." Rest assured that heart throbbing, invisible and unpredicted battles in your life shall soon see shame. The reason is because God is interested in you. A sudden battle came to Jehoshaphat and Israel, not from their enemies proposed relations (Mount Sires, Ammonites and Moabites). They had the same brotherly blood flowing in their veins. In the same vein, your battles may come from your relations and friends, don't worry. God knows what to do for you in such a case. Moses, in Exodus 14:14 assured Israel that the Lord their God would fight for them while they would hold their peace. By "Holding their peace" Moses meant they would "only witness" God's intervention. Fear, in any battle, hastens failure, weakens the strong man and even puts the fight against giant-slayers. It was this distraction (fear) in the face of battles that King Jehoshaphat addressed when he said to the army of Israel "Be not afraid or dismayed by the reason of these great multitude, for the battle belongs to God, who will fight for you." When your set time comes, no force, physical or spiritual, can stop what God has ordained for your life. Abraham and Sarah were old, and by human logic, childbearing was impossible. Yet, God declared a set time and when it came, Isaac was born. In Egypt, the Israelites suffered for years, but when their time came, they multiplied and were delivered with wealth and honour. Favour cancels delay and overrides opposition. It is not about qualifications but divine positioning. Esther was an orphan, but at the set time, she was crowned queen. Joseph was a prisoner, but one day, he became prime minister. That is favour at work. Your time of favour is not decided by people, not at all, it is appointed by God. And when it comes, every barrier breaks, and every closed door opens. Man weighs situations in balance and filters negativities from all human endeavours and concludes that some situations are better allowed to stay or managed. But, God's approach to several matters of life is different and so is His conclusion. Problems of life can make a person think that certain situations are beyond God. Even Abraham laughed at the following promise of God to his family: "And I will bless her, and give you a son also of her.. and she shall be a mother of nations; and kings of the people shall be of her (Genesis 17:16). Humanly speaking, he rightly questioned "... Shall a child be born unto him that is a hundred years old? And, Sarah that is ninety-year-old bear?" The answer to Abraham's question is YES! Listen, friends, God has a plan and purpose for your life on earth. Despite the ugly situations you are passing through at the moment, a great future lies ahead of you in God. God shall surely bring it to pass. Cancel all negative thoughts and conclusions you made in your life and cling onto God. All things are possible with Him. (Exodus 15:24) 📜 ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN 1 KINGS 17-19 🖊️ COMMENTARY The escaping children of Israel left the Red Sea with a celebration of victory. But getting to Shur, they ran out of water for them and their animals. Remember that the pillars of cloud and of fire were still there. One thing was needed, and it was essential for survival water. About two million people are without water. In that thirsty state, they continued to Mara, where they saw water. Pouncing on it like thirsty people, they found it bitter! Forgetting everything they had experienced, including the divine presence, they began to murmur against Moses. Moses had done everything and sacrificed everything for them, but they murmured against him instead of encouraging him. Lacks test faith. Severe lack could make us forget previous or other current provisions. We could look for whom to blame if we are afraid of blaming God. It may be the pastor or the entire church leadership. Moses took the complaint to God in a cry for intervention. Shown what to do, Moses threw a tree into the bitter pool and what was poisonous became instantly healthy. They drank and their next stop was even better. When we meet the unexpected, when our pocket is empty and there is nothing in the house, when our bank account is in red, let us not lose our confidence (Heb. 10:35-36). (Philippians. 4:12) 📜 ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN 1 KINGS 16, 2 CHRONICLES 17 🖊️ COMMENTARY The people of God had moved on from Elim and after about 75 days of leaving Egypt, they found themselves in the bowels of the wilderness. God decided to send them a special diet - designed and prepared in heaven (Psalms 78:25). It was not to be a one-off treat but a regular meal exclusively available to them and to no other nation. But they were to be careful to take only the portion needed for each day. That was the test. No wonder Jesus asked us to pray for each day's bread. They failed the test of abundance as they later failed the test of lack. Some took more than they needed and hoarded the extra. In the end, those who took more found they couldn't use it because it spoiled and were maggot-ridden by the morning! Some people think they will have faith when they have enough material things or when everything goes well for them. Those who trust God do so even though there is no bread but only stones (Luke 4:3-4). Paul fell into that group. Riches can make one backslide just like hardship could/ can also make one backslide.
