I am happy to share that Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Prof. Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) Institute of Physical Sciences for Study and Research, Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, 222003 is organizing a one week National workshop on Remote Sensing and GIS Applications with special emphasis on Geomorphology & Natural Hazards management during 15th March to 21th March, 2024 at university campus in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The workshop is fully funded by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), New Delhi.
Who can participate: The workshop will insure the participations of master’s students (4th Sem.), Ph.D. scholars and researchers from earth sciences backgrounds and other allied disciplines.

TA, fooding and lodging: The participants will get traveling allowance from their place to host institute (as per GoI norms). The fooding and lodging will be provided by organizers free of cost.
Objectives:
The workshop will contain high end training programme on Remote Sensing and GIS applications (theories & practical) in geomorphological studies & natural hazards managements. The key objectives of the workshop are following:
1. To learn about the Basics of remote sensing and GIS and its applications.
2. To develop skill of interpretation of the visual and digital satellite data.
3. To learn to prepare various thematic maps useful in geomorphology, flood mapping, land use land cover mapping, mineral exploration and earth resource management etc.
All faculty members are requested to share it with Master and Ph. D. students of related disciplines.

Vaishvik Bharatiya Vaigyanik (VAIBHAV) Fellowship envisages a collaborative research work between scientists of Indian STEMM Diaspora and Indian Educational Institutions, Universities and Research Institutions. The Scientists on Fellowship would identify an Indian Institution for research work and may spend up to one to three months in a year as visiting. adjunct faculty. 75 fellowships would be awarded each year. This would include International and Domestic travel, Fellowship grants @ USD 5,000 per month, accommodation and contingencies.
