As we celebrate Fidel Castro’s centenary, the Cuban Revolution continues to inspire revolutionaries across the globe. Ranjeet Brar delivers a message from Che’s mausoleum in the heart of Cuba. https://thecommunists.org/2026/08/31/tv/celebrate-che/

We highly recommend taking the time to read this historical document, which is an essential chapter in the history of the Cuban Revolution and an invaluable insight into the young mind of its leading revolutionary leader. https://thecommunists.org/2026/08/30/news/history/fidel-castro-history-will-absolve-me/

Our paper is essentially reading for all workers in this country. A true opposition to the imperialist nature of the mainstream media. If you aren't signed up then do it now. They cost barely as much as a coffee and are far more stimulating. https://shop.thecommunists.org/product-category/papers/

https://thecommunists.org/2026/08/26/news/wake-up-and-smell-class-war/ The recent removal of an England flag from a Portsmouth housing block was exactly the kind of minor incident that Britain’s right-wing media and political groups like to seize upon and inflate into a national outrage. In this case, a dispute about communal property or fire regulations was presented as proof that “you are no longer allowed to be English”. The facts became secondary. What mattered was the emotional message: Your country is being taken from you, your identity is under attack and immigrants are somehow to blame.

One of our comrades reading Harpal Brar’s classic work Trotskyism or Leninism? for the first time, noted this interesting footnote regarding the success of the planned economy, as admitted to even in mainstream bourgeois sources in the immediate postwar period in Britain. You can buy your own copy of this seminal work here: https://shop.thecommunists.org/product/harpal-brar-trotskyism-leninism-1993/

Ernesto Ché Guevara was a hero of the Cuban Revolution. He died as he lived, as a true Marxist-Leninist and dedicated servant of the people, building a movement to liberate the working class and toiling humanity. Specifically, Ché died while trying to spread the revolutionary movement from Cuba to the mainland continent of South America, via Bolivia, to his homeland in Argentina and beyond. Ché’s story, image and example continue to inspire generations of youth across the world, who everywhere seeing injustice want to join the struggle to build a better and brighter future for themselves and mankind. Ché’s message and teaching are more relevant than ever at this moment: when the US imperialists are ratcheting up their Monroe doctrine and attacks upon the Cuban, Venezuelan, Nicaraguan, Puerto Rican, Panamanian, Mexican, Bolivian and other peoples. Indeed, imperialism in its death throes is driving to war and actually waging genocidal wars over the entire planet – from Palestine to Ukraine and Russia, Mali and Burkina Faso, Yemen and the Horn of Africa to Syria, Iraq and Iran. Truly, we are living under the heel of the US and British empire’s regime of global terror. Ranjeet Brar, general secretary of the CPGB-ML, is in Cuba for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Birth of Fidel Castro, and sends this message celebrating Ché’s life, broadcasting live from his mausoleum in Santa Clara, Cuba, where Ché’s remains were repatriated and interred by Fidel and his comrades, and are honoured and guarded by the Cuban revolutionary government. Ché’s message is a clarion call today, which cuts across the weak and insipid, hopeless social-democratic dirge of all those in Britain who promote the idea that ‘voting for Labour’ imperialism will suffice – and that if enough ‘left pressure’ can be brought to bear on Andy Burnham, the world and its problems will somehow magically fall into good order and all will be well. The working class is the ruling class in waiting! We must ease the capitalists from their ‘burden’ of controlling humanity’s affairs, and consign this moribund system that is destroying our planet and humanity to the dustbin of history. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVNaqVM4lH8

Time after time, the British state has persuaded workers to attack other workers in order to preserve and strengthen the capitalist ruling class’s position of dominance over us all. https://thecommunists.org/2026/08/20/news/church-and-king/

Substantive peace talks based on the agreed MoU remained a remote and essentially unattainable goal, for the simple reason that the imperialists are not in a position to accept their defeat and walk away. And, while Iran’s leaders are no doubt able to agree to one or two face-saving gestures and some diplomatic phraseology, the essence of any deal will be that it is laying out the terms of imperialist surrender. As with Nato’s proxy war against Russia in Ukraine, the imperialist bloc is doing everything possible to keep the war front burning, albeit at a reduced pace that their depleted arsenals can maintain, in the hopes that multi-front, hybrid warfare will eventually succeed in wearing down and destroying the targeted nations, whom direct military confrontation has so far failed to beat. True to their “agreement-incapable” form, having signed the MoU on 17 June, the imperialists began breaching its terms almost immediately – and the Iranians for their part have shown themselves vigilant and capable of returning blow for blow, clearly bedding themselves in for a long war of attrition. There is every reason to expect that the resistance forces, who have been preparing for decades, knowing well that this confrontation would ultimately be forced on them, will in the end prevail. Ensuring that the British working class finally begins to move and to throw its weight onto the scales against our common imperialist enemy is the most urgent and essential task of anti-imperialists and socialists in Britain. https://thecommunists.org/2026/08/09/news/iran-war-without-end-as-the-imperialists-refuse-to-accept-defeat/

Andy Burnham has made it crystal clear that his ‘new’ regime will be more of the same deepened austerity and accelerated war drive. So why do Britain’s self-identifying CPB ‘communists’ continue to insist that a ‘change’ is taking place that can and will benefit the working class? https://thecommunists.org/2026/08/07/news/cpb-still-struggling-against-reality-andy-burnham-war-drive/

On the centenary of his birth, we are recirculating the article we wrote at the time of Comrade Fidel Castro’s death ten years ago. His is a legacy that continues to live on in the hearts and minds of revolutionaries all over the world.
Fidel Castro gave his life to the service of his people; his was indeed a life well lived. Nobody expected tiny Cuba to survive after the collapse of the USSR, and it is to the undying credit of Comrade Fidel, the Communist Party of Cuba and the Cuban masses that they held firm through all the difficulties of those days. Despite the setbacks our movement has suffered in recent decades, Cuba and its socialist example continue to light a beacon for Latin America and the oppressed world, assuring us of the correctness of our cause and the bright future that awaits humanity when imperialism has been finally defeated.

A contribution from an Italian nurse to the international workers’ event hosted by the World Anti-imperialist Platform in July 2026. In it, he describes how he and colleagues founded an anti-genocide organisation in their hospital, and how its work grew from small beginnings. "We decided we could not remain silent about the destruction of healthcare and the genocide taking place, which explicitly targets the medical sector. Not only was genocide taking place, but the right to healthcare was being explicitly denied. "The first thing we started to do was to support various movements that were emerging in Italy. As workers at Cardarelli, we decided to bring these national initiatives directly into our own hospital. These initiatives began with fasts. "Let’s say our goal was to start raising awareness among workers about what was happening internationally. We initially started with fasts, even simply going out to hand out flyers. I started after another colleague had begun, and then another colleague followed. "Initially there were just a few of us. We started handing out flyers and attaching them near the time clock of the initiatives that were being held, and we saw that people were starting to respond; there was a strong response." https://thecommunists.org/2026/08/12/tv/napoli-health-workers-standing-against-genocide/

Our general secretary Comrade Ranjeet Brar speaks at our recent celebration of anti-imperialist solidarity. In his eloquent and insightful message, he touches upon the true history of the great historical events of 26 and 27 July 1953: the attack on the Moncada Barracks in Cuba and the DPRK’s victory in the Fatherland Liberation War. He recounts their true history and how that is distorted today. And he draws out the relevance to today’s global situation – of capitalist crisis, escalating war, resurgent fascism, genocidal zionism and the wars of the Anglo-American imperialists to further conquer and suppress the world by force. As well as the heroic resistance of the socialist nations of the DPR Korea and tiny but defiant Socialist Cuba, Ranjeet pays tribute to the Palestinian people, the Axis of Resistance in the middle east, and in particular the Iranian and Russian people, who are engaged in an existential fight for survival against the aggressive wars launched by our Labour government on behalf of the British capitalist ruling class and their US imperialist partners in crime. The British workers must stand in solidarity with all peoples in struggle. As our capitalist ruling class is driven toward global war to keep its moribund and crisis-ridden system alive, the only answer to the troubles of the working people is to break all ties with the imperialist Labour party and finish it entirely. Only then will a really mass party of the working class, taking an independent political line in the interests of the working masses in Britain and of the wider world, be possible. We must learn to turn – as Fidel so ably did, in his trial after Moncada – the repressive apparatus of the state into a trial of the repressive, unjust and monstrously inhuman capitalist system itself. We must strip our ruling class of all legitimacy in the eyes of the British workers and demonstrate to them that their true interests do not lie among the path of continuing colonial war, genocide, ultranationalism, racism, deepening poverty and destruction. But that another future: a bright, cooperative, equal, hopeful and just socialist future, is possible and within our grasp. Our demands most moderate are: we only want the earth! https://thecommunists.org/2026/08/09/tv/ranjeet-brar-revolution-not-a-tea-party/
