| 4 | 🇷🇺5 Neutral and Polite Ways to say goodbye
Use these with teachers, colleagues, older relatives or anyone you don't know well.
1. До свидания (DasvidAniya) — The literal translation is "until (the next) meeting." It is the most universal, 100% safe, and slightly formal way to say goodbye.
2. Всего хорошего (vsivO kharOshiva) — Means "All the best." A very warm and polite phrase, perfect for ending a conversation on a positive note.
3. Всего доброго (vsivO dObrava) — A close synonym to "Всего хорошего," meaning "All the kindness." Sounds a bit softer and is often used on the phone.
4. До встречи (Da vstrYEchi) — "Until our next meeting." It implies that you are definitely planning to see each other again soon, but the timing isn't specific.
5. Хорошего дня (KharOshiva dnya) — "Have a good day." Borrowed from English, it has become very common in modern Russian, especially in customer service. | 85 |

| 16 | ‼️In everyday Russian, «выпить» is very often used specifically to mean “to have an alcoholic drink” even without naming the drink. The context makes it clear.
Давай немного выпьем. Let’s have a little drink (usually implies alcohol).
Он вчера много выпил. He drank a lot yesterday (clearly about alcohol).
But it’s not only about alcohol: you can also say выпить сок, выпить таблетку (to take a pill), etc. Still, if someone just says хочу выпить, most native speakers will assume it’s about an alcoholic drink. | 236 |
| 17 | Russian verbs: «пить» vs «выпить» what’s the difference?
«Пить» (to drink) is about the process. It’s imperfective, so we use it for actions that are ongoing or repeated.
🫖Я пью чай. I’m drinking tea (or I drink tea regularly).
💧Он пьёт воду каждый день. He drinks water every day.
«Выпить» (to drink up / to have a drink) is about completing the action. It’s perfective, so it shows that someone finished drinking something (or had a portion).
🧃Я выпил стакан сока. I drank a glass of juice (and it’s gone).
☕️Она хочет выпить кофе. She wants to have (drink) a coffee. | 234 |

| 20 | This song by Mia Boyka is extremely popular among kids: simple music and lyrics. Adults understand that it’s a joke. Russian women are mainly educated and working a lot.
For learning Russian it’s good because here you can see the correct endings for adjectives: masculine is -ый (умный), feminine is -ая (красивая) | 301 |
