| 6 | ‼️In everyday Russian, «выпить» is very often used specifically to mean “to have an alcoholic drink” even without naming the drink. The context makes it clear.
Давай немного выпьем. Let’s have a little drink (usually implies alcohol).
Он вчера много выпил. He drank a lot yesterday (clearly about alcohol).
But it’s not only about alcohol: you can also say выпить сок, выпить таблетку (to take a pill), etc. Still, if someone just says хочу выпить, most native speakers will assume it’s about an alcoholic drink. | 158 |

«Пить» (to drink) is about the process. It’s imperfective, so we use it for actions that are ongoing or repeated.
🫖Я пью чай. I’m drinking tea (or I drink tea regularly).
💧Он пьёт воду каждый день. He drinks water every day.
«Выпить» (to drink up / to have a drink) is about completing the action. It’s perfective, so it shows that someone finished drinking something (or had a portion).
🧃Я выпил стакан сока. I drank a glass of juice (and it’s gone).

| 13 | Here are the results of the first challenge:
1. No one needs just letters — everyone wants a more serious challenge, both beginners and advanced students. This challenge was more for me: I was searching for memes and captions to keep participants engaged.
2. People have beautiful handwriting: it doesn't matter what native language, profession, or age the participant has — the results were amazing. I want to print out your works and put them in frames. This is a form of art ❤️
3. When there are deadlines, students work harder. On the very last day of the challenge, EVERYONE decided to rest. I wrote to everyone: "It's Sunday, you can rest. Send it in when you're ready."
