Due to Middle East tensions, traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and Bab-el-Mandeb is declining. Shipping companies are rerouting vessels from the Red Sea around the Cape of Good Hope, increasing time, distance, and costs. Pakistan aims to connect Gwadar Port with Russia's North-South Transport Corridor, complementing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and Belt and Road Initiative. This could link Pakistan not only with western Russia via continental routes but also with the Russian Far East and Arctic cargo routes, Panezai emphasized.

It could expand trade in energy, minerals, agriculture, and industrial goods while giving Pakistan access to an emerging Eurasian corridor," Amir Jahangir, co-founder & CEO of Mishal Pakistan, agreed.
