Repost from Kixes’s Delivery Service
It's been 100 days since M Ravi left us. On Saturday, 2pm at the Blue Room at Filmhouse, there'll be a memorial to remember and celebrate everything he did for civil society and human rights in Singapore. Come join us if you can.
You can also add messages, photos, memories at this page: https://mravi.muchloved.com/
Do Singaporeans really support the mandatory death penalty?
The Government claims that 77% of Singaporeans support the use of the mandatory death penalty. But, how nuanced is this survey? What were the questions asked?
When it comes to lives being taken, we need to be reading these articles from a more critical lens.
Once again, we wish we had better news.

Repost from hey, comrades!
On 28th February 2026, the USA launched a series of surprise airstrikes on Iran, marking a new and dangerous phase of their wars of aggression in West Asia. Recent events show that the USA’s appetite for domination is unlimited: starving the Cuban people, kidnapping the president and first lady of Venezuela, openly threatening to take Greenland and the Panama Canal—the list goes on.
It is now more urgent than ever to stop this reign of terror. At the same time, it is easy to feel powerless in the face of such a vast war machine. To effectively oppose it, we must understand the depths of its history, and the breadth of its methods: this is not simply a question of a single maniac, but a system by which the USA and its allies have strangled the world for generations.
Join us on Saturday, 11 April 2026 at Hong Lim Park, to learn more about the history of imperialism, and what you can do about it!

Suicide is the leading cause of death amongst youths aged 10 to 29 in Singapore. A fellow young person at my alma mater attempted suicide recently. The state's response? Taking him into police custody, potentially exposing him to even more stress.
I hope that he will come to receive the support he needs. And that all of us will come to develop systems of support for one another, not punishment.
Time is running out for many of us, clearly. We need to band together now, if not sooner.
Please join fellow students and recent graduates at the Tak Tahu Townhall on 28 Mar, 3-6PM at Scape, and Labour Day Rally on 1 May, 3-7PM at Hong Lim Park. More details on Instagram.com/labourdaysg.
(If anyone is in touch with this 23-year-old, please help to convey my regards and offer for support in any capacity. Ie Feel free to link us up if there is any way I / we can help.)

🤔 Saying goodbye to door-knocking...?
Since 2022, TJC has been doing door to door, speaking to residents, and collecting petition signatures calling for a moratorium on the death penalty.
Last year, however, both TJC and SATU faced police interventions during their door-knocking efforts.

🧧 新年快乐, and a blessed Ramadan to all!
In the spirit of community and forgiveness, we beg the question: How do we protect one another?
Our ministers insist that Singapore's death penalty, and other drug laws, are an effective deterrent. But, is this truly the case? What does CNB's own statistics have to say?
The numbers are increasing. This is detailed in CNB's Annual Statistics 2025, released just a few weeks ago.
It's high time for us to look inwards, and to get to the root of the issue. Why are more people, more youths, starting to use? How can we address these needs, in a way that is helpful and sustainable?
Maybe we should start exploring more alternatives — one that doesn't have to end in death. Let's build a gentler future together.
Once again, we wish we had better news.

The violence that Lingkes has been experiencing deserves due attention and thorough investigation. Justice for lingkes means literally not killing him + looking into his claims in good faith. EVERYONE, please please please use your voice as a citizen to write to your president.
Is this the kind of behaviour that represents your values? Even if you aren't against the death penalty, surely you wouldn't be against due process.

A 13-year old has been fined $500 by HSA. Please take the time to read Shreya's (not her real name) story, and share + contribute to the fundraiser.
When the state imposes these punitive measures, leaving no room to take circumstances or nuances into consideration, who are we protecting, really? Is it truly for the betterment of our youths?

We filed an appeal. Here's why.
On 16 December of last year, the AG delivered the written judgement to dismiss the case made against the constitutionality of the mandatory death penalty. This constitutional challenge was filed by three sisters of late death row prisoners, as well as four TJC members.
Today, we filed an appeal — exercising our right of appeal.

Happy belated New Year, everyone. As we step into 2026, one thing has captured Singapore’s attention:
The Hwa Chong bento meals.
After the photos went viral, questions were raised, and suddenly, action followed. Recipes revised. Statements released. All driven by public pressure.
But that’s not the real story. Why does feedback only matter once it becomes public? Why are voices heard only when the noise is impossible to ignore?
Now think about issues that don’t go viral — drug policies, harm reduction, and lives affected by the death penalty.
Change shouldn’t need a viral moment.
That’s why we’re supporting a constitutional challenge to Singapore’s mandatory death penalty. You can support us and help amplify voices too often silenced: tinyurl.com/MDPfundraise

On 28 October last year, three sisters of executed death row prisoners, as well as four founding members of the Transformative Justice Collective, filed a constitutional challenge against the mandatory death penalty for drug offences. You may read more details in our pinned posts.
$10,000 has been paid to the AGC, as per the High Court Cost order. Currently, we are still $23,732 away needed from reaching our target goal by 10th Feb, 2 weeks from now.

🤔 The War On Y̶o̶u̶t̶h̶s̶ Vapes: Who does this really serve?
From 15 year olds getting deported, to losing one's housing, to caning, how far are we willing to go for the sake of "safety"? Who are we really keeping safe, if not for our own youngsters?
In this post, we collate a few examples of punitive measures that the state has enforced onto youths, since the launch of The War On Vapes.
SATU stands firm in our belief that we need to advocate for harm reduction, and to remain steadfast in building a kinder future for our adolescents. Join us at our townhall, and get your voices heard ✊️
