Have you ever taken any courses for writing? I mean, like in books. Not Ielts writing, the way you write is something else
___
nope, but i loved to write poems since 5yo or smth. my first ever book was called "how to take care of cats" for my mom cuz she was always mean to my little kitties when i was a girl- it was just 6 A4 papers sewn together😌
thanks, btw.

how was the meeting with wife and daughters of Jahongir Ortiqxo'jayev? I mean what were ur insights or feelings or observations ? tell us a bit more. please)
___
some people here may judge me for even mentioning the names of these people. but anyway, all with their own principles.
the meeting itself was more pleasant than i expected. the wife, Nigora opa, is quite reserved, so it was slightly awkward at the beginning. she seemed conservative too. but then the two daughters joined - i remembered only the eldest one's name, Zulfiya. she seemed the most interesting to me. and i could relate to her in some ways too, which was surprising to me.
for one, she first started her studies abroad but had to return because the family insisted she would be "ruined" abroad with all their influence of different values. she finished her bachelors here. did her masters abroad. started her business early on and continues to be the "break the barriers" type of person - the phrase that she kept repeating was "you need to protect your family from the influence of relatives or others around who dictate how you or your children should live. create a space where your children can grow and express themselves without constantly thinking about neighbors' or relatives' opinion."
but most of all, i loved the relationship she had with her father. so pure, so geniune. it was obvious that her father loves her a great deal, which indeed gives you an advantage later in life too. speaking as a dad's daughter lol

what are the top 3 or more books you really loved?
___
altho i read non-fiction more often, my favorites go to fiction anyway.
A Little Life
Hundred Years of Solitude
A Life of Pi
purely because of the writing- the degree to which it can deliver the emotions, subtleties of human interaction, how natural it sounds. thats the first thing i look for.

I want to ask something most people don't usually think of
How do you see your role in the society
How can we contribute to our society apart from what we do (our job, studies, home commitments and so on )
____
love the question.
and i dont have an exact answer. i know there is smth i am certainly going to pursue to contribute to society and make change in it, but the substance of that goal isnt clear yet. and i dont think u should overthink or chase after it right now. if ur good at smth, eventually the purpose will get clear on its own.
u just gotta believe u matter. even if u dont, objectively, right now.

I'd love to know about your bad habits/traits or insecurities if, of course, you're comfortable sharing🌚
not sure about insecurities - not because i dont have, but simply dont pay attention or even see them as insecurities. imagine u feel uncomfortable around a certain group of people who may appear as more charismatic - do u call urself insecure around them? no. i just ask myself "why do i feel this way? is it about them or me? if me, what can i change?" just talk with urself without judgement, helps.
bad habits. ahahah. maybe getting annoyed a bit too quickly. but im working on it.

hello, could you please explain the Media park project and how you get to meet and present in front of its CEO? i mean, I've never heard of something like that being held in my university. or is it like CAU thing?
nope, its not really a CAU thing. but they do support student initiatives - at least, for the beginning. and as long as u know whom to hold on to.
overall, i just came up with the idea of establishing a consulting project to the rector - he liked the idea, introduced to several directors within Akfa Group. we were lucky that Media Park were our first clients. we have a team of several students, plus several professors supporting.

1. cau wasn't my first choice. i was accepted to some unis in the US with full scholarship but they weren't my dream unis. i was waitlisted by UPenn. but yeah, my father was convinced that i gotta shape my values and principles here first before going abroad for masters. personally, uni choice doesnt matter much to me anymore. not as much as it used to, at least
2. yes, i am doing currently.

for the past two months, we’ve been working with Media Park - our first client in consulting.
we run through financial and marketing analysis, tried to answer the questions they put before us - including price differentiation for online and offline stores.
last friday, we made our presentation to Media Park’s management team, including Mahmud aka, the CEO.
the results?
they loved it. more than i expected.
before the presentation i was honestly worried that some of our suggestions might not be taken seriously coming from students altho we made sure we had both the practical side and the future vision.
Mahmud aka told we’d yet talk again to work through some of the concrete suggestions that we had in our 50-smth page report.
anyway. good ending of the week✨
gotta move on to the next clients now.

being ur dad’s daughter is basically:
- going outside at 10 pm with him for a walk cuz you really wanted a croissant
- falling in love with a random jacket at shop window and him buying it for you
p.s. we bought only 1 croissant but they gave us two more as a present cuz it was the end of the day anyway✨
night!
there’s one professor who never fails to make me smile with her inexhaustible energy
“i can see ur overwhelmed, darling. ur beauty can overcome anything, believe me”✨
- she told me rn while passing by in a corridor😌
on intelligence, self-centric thinking and failure
the medieval times predominantly held the conviction that one is born to his status by the will of God. you’re born into a royal family with all the privileges? God thought you deserved that. you’re a mere peasant who lives in shambles and milks cows and cleans barns day and night? no worries, you’re not a failure. just God decided you were meant to be so. nothing personal. just, destiny.
such thinking removed any need for active participation in one’s growth - in a sense, it was uplifting and relieving that you didn’t have to take any responsibility nor feel miserable for who you are. no one objected.
until Napoleon came along. coming from a humbler background, Bonaparte quickly rose to high positions through his military genius and headstrong determination. and what he noticed in his army is that the best soldiers actually came from simple families and not aristocrats (contradictory to the common belief of the time). so he shifted the perspective - abolished the governing feudalist principles and rewarded only for merit.
sounds great, doesn’t it? finally people have a chance to explore their potentials.
but not so easy. for most, it also meant now admitting that it’s their fault that they’re poor. and intelligence plays the biggest role here as it’s proved to be the best predictor of one’s success compared to all other factors.
so now, your self-worth is tied to your intelligence.
what could be the consequences of such thinking?
for one, sense of superiority.
i know, i understand that all of us have that at least to some degree if we are hoping to get to higher levels.
but i’ve come across some people who, apparently, divide people into those below and at the same level/above them in regards to their intelligence.
i’ve had acquaintances and even friends who wouldn’t talk to some certain people in the class/group/team because they “annoyed them with their stupidity/naivety” - had absolutely no contact whatsoever.
and among all the unpleasant downsides that such attitude carries (insecurity, fragile sense of self tied to external factors), one of them is blindness to admit one’s own mistakes and failures.
oh, and add the fact that research shows intelligence is indeed partially inherent - you may have an advantage of grasping information faster and more creatively because, say, your dad or uncle is smart.
you see, instead of admitting that they messed up with the task or don’t have enough social skills, these people put the blame only on the fact that others are not as smart as they are so they “don’t get it.” if they can’t work it out with the team and build good relationships, it must be because others aren’t as good.
they, superior people (even if not admitted verbally or consciously), know better and see further. thus, it’s only other people’s loss if they can’t recognize this brilliance. those others weren’t born with it, after all. so i better distance myself, close up to my inner world even more instead of looking straight at my own weaknesses.
now.
of course, the way i write is purposefully exaggerated to make the point easy.
and of course, this doesn’t apply to all smart people.
why?
because some smart people are also self-aware.
they reflect with brutal honesty and nitpick on their actions and consequences for the sake of growth. even when uncomfortable, even when embarrassing, they find a way to look at what they lack (“am i not as charismatic as these not-so-studious but quite successful guys?” “am i afraid to try out this new thing cuz if i fail i’ll look dumb?”) instead of hiding it behind excuses.
so perhaps a true sign of intelligence is being able to reflect on one’s and others’ actions and experiences and get better over time.
perhaps true intelligence is about finding ways. ensuring that even if you don’t know smth at the moment, you’ll figure it out. through learning, asking, and getting help.
P.S. i’ve been searching for pomegranate-shaped earrings everywhere! the photo is my new pair😌

altho im not a person to cry easily. but this little boy is special.
