I saw you in Sadanovs' channel. Are you taking/teaching SAT — or already took in december? If first, then do you want to transfer your studies abroad?
—
yup, i took SAT in December. yes, i’m planning to transfer abroad but that’s a very long story.

does it bother u when people ask if you're in a relationship? it does bother me so much when people ask u because look at u, u share what you do and all a person can ask is if you're in a relationship. i mean, u don't even look like someone who would waste time on these silly things
—
oh
THANK YOU
no, i don’t really mind people asking that - if they’re interested then whatever.
but yes, i do believe there are many other more interesting things to talk about🤍

do you have friends with whom you could stop talking for months but once you meet, it feels like you’ve always been in touch
—-
oh
yeah, definitely
my best friends, girls - no matter in how many months we meet, it always feels like we’ve just met yesterday and are continuing a paused conversation

You know sis, you are a role model for me. I love how energetic you are and wonder how you manage everything at this level. By looking at you, I find courage to chase my dreams. You are sunshine which radiates hope to everyone, just you may not realize this. Keep shining🎀

the first photo is my family. the girl with braids second to the left is my late grandmother. others are her parents and siblings.
i think i might have a slight obsession with family history multi-generational saga novels.
my first taste of it came from One Hundred Years of Solitude by Garcia Marquez, with its eerie tangled-up story of seven generations of a Macondo family. not only a representation of Latin American insight, but also a masterpiece of its own: after all the surreal tales of floating women, complicated family relationships, men who live hundreds of years, depictions of dictatorships and revolutions, this book seems more like those absurd dreams that don’t make sense but which you don’t question either.
Love in the Time of Cholera by the same author is also good.
another one is Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. powerful, almost magical writing that i think almost perfectly captured the nature and the tone of its original African language.
i can also add Beloved by Toni Morrison here.
one of my favorites tho is Pachinko. Min Jin Lee, despite being a modern writer, managed to retain all the qualities that one might savor in more classical writings. a story of four generations of a Korean family that flew to Japan during the 1900s occupation - a truly brilliant book. straight, simple, punchy writing that so beautifully emulates the raw korean culture of that time, so much stripped of performance of the so-called superior and more aristocratic nations. i managed to laugh, cry, get confused and mad, laugh and cry all over again while gulping in this book. couldn’t get me relate more to people i have no connection with.
yes, i have read some uzbek history novels too. as mentioned before, Bygone Days too. but i think i should probably just learn old uzbek as otherwise the translation to English only made me sick with its absolute lack of nuance or emotional and literary awareness along the lines. plus forced metaphors with overexplanation. perhaps my bad here but i simply can’t read a book not well written. i’ll give it a try in uzbek once again.
currently reading The Grass Dancer. Susan Power. so far quite promising.

luckiness level:
i had to wake up for an interview at 5am in the morning but because of my "whats the point of it all" mode i ended up oversleeping
only to find out that at night my interviewer emailed me asking whether i could send a video answering to their questions cuz they couldn't make it to the interview due to unforeseen reasons😌

slightly random but
my mom used to call me “sunny” when i was younger. no, actually she still calls me so. altho there was that dramatic puberty period where i decided to rebrand myself as a walking cloud.
anyway.
little me, 4-5yo.
whenever we got on bus with mom, i would march confidently down the aisle and introduce myself to every single passenger, saying that my name was Nodira but that i actually also had ✨four✨ names: “Nodira, Nodiraxon, Nodirabegim and Robiya” (Robiya for religious reasons altho no one calls me that).
having the passengers enough moved and confused, we’d get off the bus and then, i’d stand there waving at it and the people in the windows until the bus disappeared from view.
peak anti-social-awkwardness era. i peaked early.
anyway
my eyes literally closing right now

yes, i went jingle bell hunting to show how overwhelming it is getting now to walk on the streets - too much new year vibes!
can’t we wait till 20th or smth at least?😭
and yes, i got two drinks cuz i ordered 5 mins before their closure
anyway
not the point
lately, it got more clear to me that perhaps the people you should be wary about are not the intimidating but the weaker ones. those who don’t speak up when dissatisfied. those who stay quiet and avoid confrontations.
be that in the works of Nietzsche, Jung, Dostoevsky or Rochefoucauld, there is a common thread showing up.
“the weak” usually store in their resentment, envy or hostility that eventually builds up into bitterness.
and i can assure you that there’s no more miserable life than that spent in silent bitterness.
before i built up the values and principles that i try to follow right now, with some support of compounding confidence, i could see that my criticism towards others was the most insidious during my lowest (as a person) times.
while strong people express themselves openly and freely, with these, you can never quite predict when they might end up letting you down in the ugliest way.
or
в тихом омуте черти водятся as they say in russian
yup
nice evening
may sound cheesy but
it’s weirdly satisfying to notice the faces of passersby with a long dramatic sonata turned on while you’re on yet another evening walk
suddenly everyone seems so cinematic and even captivating✨

oh

i was just complaining today to my friend that i missed late night works
and here we go two days straight making two reports for an all nighter✨

i wore long ones yesterday
laid on bed the whole evening ahvhahahsg
absolute torture
deloitte called.
asked whether i’m still interested in auditing department position.
i said yes.
we were about to set the date for interview when she goes “btw, you’re 4th year student, aren’t you?”
“oh, no. i’m 2nd actually.”
“oh, i’m sorry. currently we are employing only senior students who can work full time.”
told they would call again for summer positions then.
BRUH
i hate that sometimes the obstacles lie in smth you can’t event control😭
it’s already 3rd time i’m missing it because of my uni year.
better be a polarizing figure than a sweetheart for all✨

"The latest research in neuroscience says you can change your brain just by thinking. So then as you begin to think about a new possibility and your brain begins to fire in new sequences and new patterns and new combinations and you begin to plan your behaviors and you begin to review in your mind, mentally rehearse who you're going to be in your life, the mere action of mental rehearsal begins to install the neurological circuits in your brain. Now your brain is no longer a record of the past. Now it's, in fact, a map to the future."
