#SouthernSyria | #Damascus: General Security militia forces kill a young man from Damascus at one of their checkpoints
The #HTS-led General Security militia forces opened fire on a young man, Raed Yasser al-Halawani, at one of their checkpoints near the Anaya intersection in the Daf al-Shawk area at dawn on Monday, July 6, 2026.
The young man was rushed to Mujtahid Hospital, but he later succumbed to his wounds. He was from the Shaghour neighborhood of Damascus and belonged to the Sunni sect.

#WesternSyria | Tartus-Homs: Several Iraqi oil tankers burn on the Homs-Tartus road, and one Iraqi driver dies, this afternoon, Monday, July 6, 2026.
Worth noting is that another tanker caught on fire two days ago, in addition to a video circulating on social media last week showing a dispute between General Security militia forces and the Iraqi tanker drivers.
#CentralSyria | w. #Hama: Angry Protest of the Ismaili Community in the City of #Salamiyah in Rural Hama
A protest and gathering of men and young men took place in the Ismaili-majority city of Salamiyah, east of Hama, this evening, July 4, 2026, after General Security Service militias arrested dozens of Ismaili young men from the city. The arrests came after these young men had objected to Bedouin youths arriving from outside the city harassing girls from Salamiyah and filming them.
When the HTS-led General Security militias intervened, they arrested dozens of young men from the Ismaili community, while providing protection to the Bedouins. A protest subsequently broke out demanding the release of the detainees and the achievement of justice and equality through the impartial enforcement of the law, without sectarian or religious discrimination. Local efforts by Ismaili community notables are underway to calm the situation.
#SouthernSyria | #Suwayda: Government forces violate ceasefire agreement and attack the city using heavy artillery, two men reported killed and others injured
Around midnight on Thursday evening As-Suwayda ceasefire was breached when STG forces' artillery opened fire on the besieged city, this prompted As-Suwayda's national guard to return fire leading to a confrontation that lasted until the early hours of Friday morning.
The clash resulted in two deaths in As-Suwayda and a number of injuries while it hasn't been reported whether there was any casualties among STG troops.
This has been just another round of a clashes that erupt periodically on the Western front of the city, accompanied by constant harassment and abduction of civilians on Al-Mtawneh checkpoint by government forces in order to apply more pressure on the besieged community as the first anniversary of July massacres looms.
#SouthernSyria : Alawite Man Assisnatied in #Damascus
Ayham Shaaban Rajha was found dead today, July 4, 2026, two days after he had gone missing. His body was discovered on Ayn al-Khadra Road near Damascus.

#Homs: An American tourist was attacked in Homs, where a man attacked the car she was riding in and smashed the car window
What’s interesting, is that when she posted the video, she wrote in the caption that the attackers were on motorcycles, and that one of them was armed with a handgun!! (reminds me of the sectarian killers in Homs, armed on motorcycle)
It should be noted that her Instagram account is new, there are no old posts, and it was only created a few days ago, and on it she posted the video of the attack, followed by another follow-up post explaining what happened.
This clip comes just days after a foreign female tourist was harassed in one of the public squares in the city of Aleppo by a mob of thugs.
Eastern Syria’s Tribes Denounce Political Exclusion
Several tribes from Syria’s eastern region, particularly in Deir ez-Zor, led by the #Bakara, al-Sadah al-Damalkha, and al-Jahish al-Zubaidiya tribes, issued statements rejecting what they described as political exclusion.
Members of these tribes stated that they consider themselves “marginalized and denied the fair representation they deserve in the People’s Assembly (the Syrian Parliament), state institutions, and decision-making processes,” as they described it.
It is worth noting that the distribution of positions under the current regime, across all state sectors including the People’s Assembly, relies on loyalty, nepotism and affiliation with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham #HTS, Islamist factions, or personal connections, while a number of controversial figures are placed in the spotlight to generate distractions that obscure the reality of this exclusion.
Among these figures recently was the appointment of the actress “Rozina Latakani,” who stated that she was notified of her appointment only two days in advance, as well as “Laith al-Balous,” whom many Druze regard as a traitor, in addition to Minister “Hind Kabbawat.”
Yet the tribes need not be concerned, because the Qatari-backed “researchers” always have ready explanations at hand, and will claim that these statements are proof of “freedom of expression,” and that al-Sharaa must, regrettably, endure considerable criticism from this ungrateful folk, even though, curiously, one does not hear the people of Idlib, Emirs and Sheikhs of HTS, the Saudi terrorist al-Muhaysini, or the Australian terrorist Abu Maryam voicing similar criticism of the #STG over political exclusion.
#SouthernSyria | #Damascus: Attack on General Security Checkpoint in Kashkoul
According to official media affiliated with the STG, the incident occurred this morning, when two individuals arrived by motorcycle at a HTS-led General Security checkpoint in #Kashkoul, in the #alDwelaa area.
During the search, one of the two men, identified as "Daniel Riyad Daoud", drew a pistol and opened fire on General Security personnel before attempting to detonate several grenades in his possession.
The source reported that one of the grenades exploded prematurely as the attacker attempted to throw it, killing him instantly.
Three General Security personnel were reportedly wounded by shrapnel and transported to a hospital for treatment, while the attacker’s body was taken to Al-Mouwasat Hospital.
(We have not been able to independently verify this incident from a neutral source)

#SouthernSyria | #Damascus: the body of a Christian man is found shortly after disappearing near Damascus.
The body of Rani Halawa was found today in Al-Malihah this morning. He was a resident of nearby Jaramana, and according to reports he had gone missing in Jaramana only a short time before his body was found.
Rani Halawa is the brother of a priest and the circumstances and motives behind his murder remain unknown, however it comes with the backdrop of increased hostility from Islamist powers within Syria and STG towards minorities and other Sunnis who they claim are Assad regime remnants.
#Jaramana also continues to be a flashpoint for sectarian tension due to being a Druze/Christian majority town in a sea of hostile Sunni towns.

Syrian Airlines’ First Flight from Europe in Years.. but the Aircraft Isn't Syrian and the Crew Is European
Damascus | Amsterdam: Syrian Air has launched its first flight from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, after years of suspended service. (This is where the official Syrian state media report ends.)
The rest of the story is as follows:
The aircraft is leased from the Lithuanian carrier Heston Airlines. Prior to this, it had been operated by a Qatari airline for several years.
Both the Captain and First Officer are European pilots employed by Heston Airlines.
Does this reflect reported dismissals of a number of Syrian pilots and a shortage of experienced replacements who are considered loyal to the STG? Or is it primarily a consequence of international sanctions?
Alternatively, has Syrian Airlines effectively been privatized or transferred to a foreign, or Qatari-based, investor who has chosen not to employ Syrian flight crews?
These are legitimate questions that warrant clear answers.
#CentralSyria | #Homs: For the third consecutive day, demolition continues in the town of Al-Mazraa, reportedly aimed at displacing its residents, Syrian citizens from the #Shia community, amid silence from the media.
A local source said that the demolitions are not limited to unauthorized buildings, but also include all homes, even those that are legal and officially licensed.

#Syria’s New Parliament: Women Make Up Less Than 10% of Members, With Poor Representation of the Country’s Diverse Communities
The appointments to the Syrian parliament (al-Sharaa/Jolani council) have been announced. Syria’s jihadist dictator appointed its members by directly selecting one third, and indirectly selecting the remaining two-thirds through individuals he himself had chosen to make those selections.
The parliament’s composition revealed strikingly low representation of women, who account for just 10% of its members, as well as minimal representation of minority communities. In #Tartus province (predominantly Alawite with over 2 million inhabitants), for instance, of the two allocated seats, only one member reportedly hails from the Sunni-majority Arwad Island, while the second Tartus representative does not appear to be from the province at all.
The appointments triggered a wave of negative reaction among Syrian citizens, amid broad criticism that the council fails to reflect the aspirations of the public. An Islamist orientation dominated the overwhelming majority of appointees, with only a small group as exceptions.
The list also included figures widely regarded as propagandists for the regime, such as Hassan al-Daghim and Hassan Soufan, as well as an Instagram influencer/actress Rozina Al-Ladkani, a move critics say was intended to divert local and international attention from the fact that women’s representation did not exceed 10%.
