Saw Sext IAS video today where they have said sorry and what not.
People are appreciating that such good teachers they are and not many people have the guts to say sorry.
But, apart from all the sorry and stuff, hope you saw the narrative change that took place.
Mr. C Singh started by saying 90+_2
Then the other teacher said "yeah, jaisa aapne kaha, 88+_2"
Then one more teacher said something
And the second last teacher said-"Yes, I think it will be around 85, like you said"
Ye Like you said, Like you said bolke
110 se seedha 85 le aaye cutoff marks, that's how narrative is changed without any formal declaration in form of any picture or graphic. So that next year when people ask them, "ki bhaiya cutoff kya galat batayi thi aapne last year!"

So people copy pasted the above comment and after due cognisance, the post was removed by the author? I’m glad to see some sense prevail. So jao ab sab, kal se padhai shuru kar denge, inshaallah!
CV bhai, cutoff doesn’t really get decided by the people scoring only in top bracket. The paper was on lines of 2022 prelims (88ish cutoff),but a bit difficult because tricks didn’t work. The static areas weren’t the mainstream areas really. CSAT has been a dubious game too, I know quite a lot of people who’re comfortably scoring above 95 but are on the brink of CSAT because of the difficulty of RC questions. Atleast two questions have faulty translation and options if not more. The curve might lie somewhere between 85-90. The best way out of this situation is starting the preparation for mains for anybody who is scoring above 80 according to the keys available in the market. This might be the best guidance which can also help calm down the nerves of people who’re hovering around the ‘border’. Cutoff above 95 is unrealistic and lacks a broader sample size imho.
With all due respect, if you cannot ignite hope, at least do not be pessimistic, and a reason for anxieties of aspirants when you cannot perfectly decide what the cutoff would be. Platforms like TG should be used by toppers channel to ignite hope and inspire. Especially when people look upto you.
People are already under anxiety right now and not studying for mains. Mushkil se padhne baithte hai log, aise posts counter productive hote hai.
Reality might be disappointing, but we are unsure of it right now. One shouldn’t fuel the anxieties in the times of chaos.

I do not get involved in cutoff discussions. But there's one disclaimer which I'd wish to put out here seeing the chaos prevailing around tg and reddit:
Please do not be in the illusion of cutoff dipping in 80s and 85s. The paper(GS and CSAT) wasn't easy, agreed, but it wasn't tough either to lower the cutoff by this magnitude. On results day, you'll see so many people posting 'IN, was getting 110+by every key'.
It will hit you hard if you live in this disillusion. There are enough number of people who are comfortably scoring in 3 digits too.
Nonetheless, study hard for mains. WIN WIN.
I expect no hate on this post. I am being realistic, not pessimistic.
