Governor Kelly Armstrong vetoed two controversial bills covering education and public libraries. Senate Bill 2307 would require public and school libraries to place books considered obscene or sexually explicit in areas not easily accessible to minors. It would have also required safeguards for online databases provided by these libraries. Supporters argue the bill was necessary to protect minors from inappropriate content.
