در این ارائه ابتدا شواهد تجربی و رصدیِ همرفت خورشیدی، از جمله الگوی دانه‌ها و نواحی میان‌دانه‌ای، اختلاف روشنایی و سرعت‌های عمودی و ساختار گرانولی بررسی می‌شوند. سپس با تکیه بر توصیف نظری، معادلات پایه‌ای مانند تعادل هیدروستاتیکی، معادلهٔ انتقال تابشی، شرط آغاز همرفت و روابط مقیاس طول و زمان گردش سلول‌های همرفتی معرفی می‌گردند. در نهایت نیز جدول پارامترهای خورشیدی ناحیه همرفتی را بدست می‌آوریم.
