💥 Unlock Your Potential with Data Science and AI 🔹 Program Name: GCI World 2026 – September 🔹 What is the program? GCI World 2026 is a fully funded, free online training program offered by the Matsuo-Iwasawa Laboratory at the University of Tokyo, with support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The program focuses on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI), emphasizing their application to real-world problem-solving. 🔹 What will you learn? Participants will gain hands-on knowledge in: Python fundamentals NumPy and Pandas Data visualization Supervised and unsupervised machine learning Model evaluation SQL Time series analysis The program also includes practical assignments, a competition, and a capstone project to reinforce learning. 🔹 Who is eligible to apply? The program is open to: Middle and high school students Students enrolled in accredited vocational institutes and colleges Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD students Applicants must be enrolled as students on September 17, 2026, and must provide a valid student ID or an official document confirming their enrollment. Individuals who have already graduated and are not currently enrolled in an educational institution are not eligible. 🔹 Is prior experience required? No prior programming experience is required. Introductory Python materials are available for beginners. However, participants are expected to demonstrate a genuine commitment to attending lectures, completing assignments, and finishing the final project. 🔹 Program duration and language: The program runs for approximately three months (14 weeks). It is delivered entirely online and in English. Weekly lectures last 90–120 minutes, and recordings of most sessions are available for participants who are unable to attend live. 🔹 Certificate: Participants who successfully fulfill the program requirements will receive a Certificate of Completion. This is not an academic degree or university qualification, but a professional training certificate that can be added to a résumé or CV. 🔹 Opportunity to visit Japan: A limited number of top-performing participants may be selected for a study visit to Japan. 🎓 PhD Position for the Gamma-ray Group 🗓 Opening Date: July 22, 2026 📆 Closing Date: Until Filled 🗂 Job profile and responsibilities The PhD thesis will integrate both instrumentation R&D for future gamma-ray space missions and scientific data analysis using observations from current gamma-ray observatories. 🔎 The successful candidate will be expected to: Contribute to the design, testing, and evaluation of instrumentation for future gamma-ray space missions. Perform scientific analyses of data from gamma-ray observatories (MAGIC and/or CTA-LST) to study astrophysical sources and fundamental physics. Develop simulation, reconstruction, and analysis tools supporting instrumentation studies and data analysis. Actively participate in international scientific collaborations, presenting results and contributing to scientific publications. Conduct original research leading to the completion of a PhD thesis in Gamma-Ray Astronomy. 📝 Specific requirements and preferred qualifications: Candidates must hold, by the start date of the contract, a Master’s degree in Physics or an equivalent qualification providing direct access to the PhD program in Physics at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
