🎓 PhD Studentship: Efficient Long-Horizon Task Execution in Physical AI (Deep learning, Computer Vision, Robotics 📝 The project will explore orchestrating reasoning models, vision-language models, world models and efficient control policies for reliable robot behaviour. 🔎 A key focus is deciding when to deliberate versus act reactively, using reasoning only when the gain in success justifies the cost in time, energy and compute. 📚 Research directions may include long-horizon planning with monitoring and recovery; efficient hybrid reasoning; vision-language task decomposition; world models for prediction and planning; reactive-deliberative architectures; compute-aware evaluation; edge/cloud orchestration; and real-robot testing. Work could involve new algorithms, reasoning pipelines, foundation model evaluation, benchmarks, platform integration and practical deployment limits. This project is in collaboration with the Institut Fresnel (Marseille, France), the University of Ottawa (Canada) and the Lightcore (Industry partner focusing on fiber-based imaging, Lille & Marseille, France) 📝 Project Highlights: - Design and fabricate novel hollow-core microstructured optical fibres with tailored nonlinear and polarization properties. - Investigate ultrafast nonlinear pulse propagation in twisted photonic crystal fibres. - Develop polarization-resolved multiphoton endoscopy techniques for deep-tissue imaging. - Apply these advanced fibres to study actin filament orientation in living cells using 2-photon microscopy. 🔎 We’re looking for a candidate with: A Master’s degree in Physics, Optical Engineering, or a related field. در این ارائه ابتدا شواهد تجربی و رصدیِ همرفت خورشیدی، از جمله الگوی دانه‌ها و نواحی میان‌دانه‌ای، اختلاف روشنایی و سرعت‌های عمودی و ساختار گرانولی بررسی می‌شوند. سپس با تکیه بر توصیف نظری، معادلات پایه‌ای مانند تعادل هیدروستاتیکی، معادلهٔ انتقال تابشی، شرط آغاز همرفت و روابط مقیاس طول و زمان گردش سلول‌های همرفتی معرفی می‌گردند. در نهایت نیز جدول پارامترهای خورشیدی ناحیه همرفتی را بدست می‌آوریم.
