GERMAN OFFICIAL REPORT ON THE SURRENDER OF THE CITY OF SKOPJE TO BULGARIA ON MAY 18, 1941 The surrender took place before the population of Skopje, who joyously welcomed its liberation from the Serbian yoke. In his farewell speech to the residents of Skopje, General Lindemann said: WITH A HEAVY HEART I LEAVE LIBERATED MACEDONIA!!! He knew very well that Macedonia had been under the Serbian yoke. In the photo, General Lindemann hands over the German battle flag to the mayor of Skopje - Spiro Kitinchev The mayor would die in 1946 in prison of the Serbian occupiers.

Во својот проштален говор до жителите на Скопје, генералот Линдеман рече: СО ТЕШКО СРЦЕ ЈА НАПУШТАМ ОСЛОБОДЕНАТА МАКЕДОНИЈА!!! И тој добро знаеше дека Македонија е под српскиот јарем. На фотографијата, генералот Линдеман му го предава германското бојно знаме на градоначалникот на Скопје - Спиро Китинчев Кој градоначалник почина во 1946 година во затвор на српските окупатори.
