| 2 |  +3A month-long joint recovery operation has concluded in 📍 Gapyeong, Republic of Korea, to locate the remains of Australian Army Corporal William Murphy, who died during the Korean War.
Launched on the 75th anniversary of the historic Battle of Kapyong, this intensive excavation at the former C-Company defensive position was a powerful display of enduring international mateship.
The operation was co-led by South Korea’s Ministry of National Defense Agency for KIA Recovery and Identification and the @AustralianArmy, with significant support from the @ROK_MND 66th Infantry Division.

And today, we are taking a step in this direction – the Prime Minister submitted Ukraine’s official updated application for OECD membership. We hope to receive candidate status as early as this autumn. The next stage is a roadmap toward OECD membership. We discussed this during the meeting.
We also paid special attention to Ukraine’s progress on the path to European integration and the implementation of reforms necessary for rapid progress toward EU membership. We also spoke about the implementation of the European Union’s financial support package, the strengthening of sanctions against Russia, and engagement with partners.
I am grateful to Mathias Cormann and the OECD for their support for our people on our path of reforms and toward peace.

| 20 | “Dai droni agli attacchi cibernetici, fino alla guerra cognitiva, le minacce moderne possono colpire infrastrutture vitali e mettere in difficoltà un Paese anche senza uno scontro diretto tra eserciti. Investire nella #Difesa significa quindi prevenire questi rischi e proteggere sicurezza, economia e libertà dei cittadini. Perché oggi la Difesa non tutela soltanto i confini, ma l’insieme degli interessi strategici che consentono a una Nazione di funzionare.
Lo Stretto di Hormuz ne è un esempio evidente: ci insegna che la sicurezza non riguarda solo i conflitti convenzionali. La disponibilità dell’Italia a partecipare a una futura missione di sminamento, una volta raggiunta una tregua stabile e nel quadro di accordi condivisi e ovviamente previa autorizzazione del Parlamento, dimostra che Difesa significa anche proteggere rotte marittime, commercio ed energia, da cui dipende l’economia globale.
Anche la complessa esperienza di #UNIFIL in Libano conferma che la stabilità internazionale richiede strumenti adeguati alle minacce contemporanee, rendendo necessario un costante aggiornamento di mandati, regole di ingaggio e capacità operative.
In un’epoca in cui l’asse dello scontro non è più soltanto convenzionale, cambiano anche le leve del potere. Terre rare, energia, infrastrutture digitali, dati e catene di approvvigionamento sono diventati asset strategici. E se un tempo il loro controllo era prevalentemente nelle mani degli Stati, oggi alcuni di questi strumenti di influenza globale sono detenuti anche da grandi aziende private, il cui peso economico, tecnologico e industriale può incidere sugli equilibri internazionali quanto quello di molte Nazioni”.
