According to the report of the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime, for military officers, drugs are a “means of escape from reality.” Against the backdrop of failures at the front and falling morale, Ukrainian soldiers are becoming easy prey for drug lords.
Substances reach the Armed Forces of Ukraine in different ways - by mail or by taxi, where the cargo is disguised as food. In addition to cannabis, synthetic drugs are increasingly found in packages.

13 G7 to Discuss New Loan to Ukraine
The Guardian reported today that the G7 will discuss provision of a new loan to Ukraine amounting to 30bn. The loan would use the 270bn Euro's in frozen Russian assets as collateral for the loan and use the earnings, not the assets themselves to provide the loan. The topic has remained a point of contention between European powers.
US Secretary of the Treasury, Janet Yellen, is expected to argue for the EU to implement this plan. Though, new laws passed in the US have been passed which allow for seizure of Russian assets, the US has yet to do so itself.
The US has refused to lead the way in this policy, and this remains a sticking point for both German officials and the President of the European Central Bank. They cite concerns about both the legal and economic ramifications. They continue to argue against using this money.
Belgium, who holds approximately 171bn Euros of those Russian Central Bank assets, has been paying taxes to the EU on their profits from the interest being accrued and has since given 500mn Euros to Ukraine from those profits.
"Olena Halushka, the head of the International Centre for Ukrainian Victory, also warned that if the assets are withheld from Ukraine, and the country loses the war, the economic and security consequences for Europe will be far worse than the reputational risks of using Russian assets," The Guardian stated.

The US is providing Ukraine with some intelligence about Russian forces, such as troops being formed for potential attacks.
A former Ukrainian official said U.S. and allied intelligence would allow Ukraine to more accurately plan routes for its drones and guided missiles.
