There is a view that helping all people around the words is out of option, thus making it a priority for governments to focus on national development and improving public services. I am inclined to agree with this statement for several compelling reasons.
It is true that global support for all individuals seems to be a challenging and even impossible task. This is mainly because there can be lack of national resources, economic stability, and other domestic issues in a nation where the help is most needed. For example, some people are still homeless, struggling to find shelter and food, although they are generally supported with international aid.
In my view, therefore, the governing bodies should be focusing on dealing with local challenges before considering foreign aid. Public services should be the main priority. Citizens oftentimes pay the taxes, which is the main source of government`s budget, thus making it the chief responsibility to live up to the expectations of the public in order to avoid internal conflicts.
Moreover, national development should be another priority. It is logical to invest in improving infrastructure, healthcare, education, and living standards in a country instead of providing global assistance to other developing nations. These are likely to ensure that the nation will enhance, which even perhaps contributes to economic stability, well educated people, and a healthy society.
In summary, it is not likely that we are able to provide international assistance for all people. Instead, I would argue that the government needs to allocate its resources on enhancing the nation, and public services.
