We have officially come to the end of the 2026 JAMB Admission Policy Meeting. Thank you for staying with us throughout the proceedings.
Below are the major resolutions and highlights from the meeting:
βͺοΈ Minimum admissible score for Universities fixed at 150
βͺοΈ Colleges of Nursing minimum score pegged at 150
βͺοΈ Polytechnics minimum score fixed at 100
βͺοΈ Institutions are not allowed to admit beyond approved quotas
βͺοΈ Candidates must accept admission within four weeks of offer
βͺοΈ Public Universities admission deadline fixed for October 31, 2026
βͺοΈ Polytechnics admission deadline fixed for November 30, 2026
βͺοΈ Monotechnics and Colleges of Education deadline fixed for December 31, 2026
βͺοΈ Change of Course/Institution portal to be activated after the mop-up examination
βͺοΈ Uploading of OβLevel results continues within approved timelines
βͺοΈ Institutions expected to begin Post-UTME and screening announcements immediately after the meeting

*EDUCATION MINISTER CLEARS THE AIR ON JAMB CUT-OFF MARK*
_The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, has clarified that the Minimum Tolerable UTME Score approved during the JAMB Policy Meeting is not the same as an institutionβs actual cut-off mark._
_He explained that the minimum tolerable score simply means institutions are not allowed to admit candidates below that benchmark._
_However, schools can still fix their own cut-off marks higher depending on competition, course requirements, and available admission slots._
_For example, if the approved minimum benchmark is 150, it does not mean every institution must admit candidates with 150. Institutions can decide to use 180, 200, or even higher scores for certain courses._
