On Sunday, 28 June, join TJC for We Keep Us Safe, a day of activities at Pearl's Hill Terrace where we build knowledge, skills and experience in keeping each other safe from state and societal violence in its different forms. We're looking for 5 storytellers to speak at "Hooked: Stories the Government Doesn't Want You to Hear" from 5-6 pm. The session will spotlight personal journeys of how punishment has derailed and disrupted lives, and, on the flipside, how peer and community support have helped them survive. You do not need to have public speaking experience. We are interested in your personal stories and can provide help to refine your story before the event. TAKE BACK OUR HIVE! 🐝🐝🐝 Petition Launch + Townhall Wed, 1 April 12–1.30PM (Drop in anytime, no RSVP needed) The Hive TR+23* (B3) *typo in the poster, sorry! Students pay thousands of dollars in tuition fees, but most of us are getting less access to the spaces meant for us. NTU just renamed The Hive to the "UOB Innovation Hub" with no prior warning, and turned 2.5 floors of tutorial rooms in The Hive into "subsidised office space" for 90 start-ups, all without consulting students. Our question for NTU: did they consider the impact on NTU students who use The Hive to study? Or did they only consider the interests of their corporate sponsors?
