May every heart confess thy name,
And ever Thee adore;
And seeking Thee, itself inflame
To seek Thee more and more.

What does the Name of Jesus Mean? (continued)
WHAT MUST WE DO? (continued)
We must therefore do our best to form the habit of saying, âJesus, Jesus, Jesus,â very often every day. We can do so when dressing, when workingâno matter what we are doingâwhen walking, in moments of sadness, at home and in the street, everywhere.
Nothing is easier if only we do it methodically. We can say it countless times every day.

WHAT MUST WE DO?
St. Paul tells us that we must do all we do, whether in word or work, in the Name of Jesus. âAll whatsoever you do in word or in work, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ . . . â (Col. 3:17).
In this way, every act becomes an act of love and of merit, and moreover, we receive grace and help to do all our actions perfectly and well.

Then truth begins to shine;
Then earthly vanities depart;
Then kindles love divine.

FIRST SATURDAY of JANUARY đ
âSee my daughter, how my heart is encircled by thorns with which ungrateful men pierce me at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. You, at least, try to console me, and announce that I promise to assist at the hour of death, with the graces necessary for salvation, all those who on the First Saturdays of five consecutive months, confess, receive Holy Communion, recite part of My Rosary, and keep me company for a quarter of an hour, meditating on its mysteries with the intention of offering me reparation.â ~ Words of Our Lady to Sr. Marie (Lucia dos Santos) on December 10, 1925
If possible, make First Saturday devotions today, in reparation for offenses against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, as requested by Our Lady herself in 1925, and confirmed by Our Lord in 1927.

What does the Name of Jesus Mean? (continued)
Each time we say âJesus,â we gain 300 days indulgence* which we may apply to the souls in Purgatory, thus relieving and liberating very many of these holy souls from their awful pains. They thus become our best friends and pray for us with incredible fervor.
~~~~~~
*Although the Churchâs regulations on Indulgences, including those regarding ejaculations, have changed, perhaps we may still hope to obtain these same Indulgences from God if we ask Him for them with great confidence.
FIRST FRIDAY of January â€ïž
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, animated with a desire to repair the outrages unceasingly offered to Thee, we prostrate before Thy throne of mercy, and in the name of all mankind, pledge our love and fidelity to Thee!
What does the Name of Jesus Mean? (continued)
But the Holy Name is something still greater.
Each time we say âJesus,â we give God infinite joy and glory, for we offer Him all the infinite merits of the Passion and Death of Jesus Christ.
St. Paul tells us that Jesus merited the Name Jesus by His Passion and Death.
Chapter 2
What does the Name of Jesus Mean?
The Holy Name of Jesus is, first of all, an all-powerful prayer. Our Lord Himself solemnly promises that whatever we ask the Father in His Name we shall receive. God never fails to keep His word.
When, therefore, we say, âJesus,â let us ask God for all we need with absolute confidence of being heard.
For this reason, the Church ends her prayer with the words âthrough Jesus Christ,â which gives the prayer a new and divine efficacy.
~ Fr. Paul OâSullivan O.P., The Wonders of the Holy Name (1946)
