I trust this message finds you well. I am happy to extend an official invitation to you on behalf of Global Health Workforce Network Youth Hub (GHWN Youth Hub) for your participation as a Youth Speaker in the GHWN Youth Hub Online Conference in 2024.
On March 8-9th, the Youth Hub will host a virtual conference aimed at fostering youth action towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The conference seeks to educate and equip young professionals to address critical issues in the healthcare workforce. As part of this, GHWN Youth Hub are actively seeking dynamic and knowledgeable young leaders to contribute as speakers in our high-level sessions on the topics of digital health, planetary health and nurturing the youth health workforce.
The planned sessions vary from discussion panels with interactive break-out components to presentations and Q&A structures. Hence, the expected commitment will be to prepare, on average, 15–20 minutes of content to share your insights, experiences and encountered challenges in the topic of your chosen session. Specifics on the topics, intended outcomes and expertise needed are listed below.

Highlight ways in which youth can contribute to
interventions addressing climate-related health challenges and

food security in a changing climate.
The Heart of Healthcare: Nurturing and Managing Healthcare Workers
This session delves into the Human Resources aspect in health,covering health migration, rural healthcare workforce, mental health,and the need for interprofessional collaboration.
Emphasize the need for collaboration and action
to address issues surrounding healthcare workforce management.
We are seeking a dynamic youth speaker with
first hand experience in health migration, rural healthcare workforce
initiatives, or advocacy for mental health awareness within the
healthcare workforce.

The IFMSA Delegation is composed of 5-7 delegates attending in different modalities, with 4 People attending in person and 2 people attending online. the IFMSA Liaison Officer to the WHO (head of delegation), the IFMSA Vice-President for External Affairs, and 2 selected delegates will be attending the meeting in person while 2 other delegates will join us virtually. How can you apply?

◦ Important note: if your NMO is currently suspended but regains their valid status on the 1st of December, make sure your CF is signed on or after the 1st of December. Important Information:
• Delegates are expected to attend the full length of the meeting
• IFMSA is not providing financial support for flight, accommodation, and transportation purposes. This will be the full responsibility of the delegate. Therefore we highly encourage seeking financial support from other sources e.g universities.
• If you are an IFMSA Official, please still select to apply as a "General Member" on the second page of the form, or it will take you to a different section. As there will not be a separate EB/TO/Supco Member position reserved on the delegation, not doing so will make your application invalid.

With great pleasure, We open the call for the IFMSA delegation to the 154th Executive Board Meeting of the World Health Organization, which will take place between the 22th January - 27th January 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland. This email will inform you about all the procedures to apply to be a member of the delegation, so please read carefully till the end!
What is the 154th Executive Board Meeting of the World Health Organization?
The Executive Board of the WHO is composed of 34 technically qualified members elected for three-year terms. Attended by delegations from 194 Member States and some recognized international NGOs and other partners, the EB Meeting is the crucial moment where Member States define priorities for the next World Health Assembly (77th WHA - held in May 2024), and its agenda is agreed upon. This meeting is a great opportunity for the IFMSA to meet with important stakeholders in the WHO and also other organizations who usually attend. A provisional agenda for the meeting can be found here, which outlines the topics that will be discussed.

Objectives of IFMSA’s participation in the Executive Board Meeting:
• Develop advocacy materials to outline the IFMSA position on a number of global health topics to the Executive Board, Member States, and other Non-State Actors;
• Meet with key WHO partners, other Non-State Actors and partners;
• Following, documenting and analyzing the proceedings and outcomes of the agenda in preparation for the 77th World Health Assembly, to maximize our advocacy efforts and develop an appropriate Youth PreWHA program;
• Represent youth voices in the global health sphere and advocate for meaningful youth participation in topics relevant to IFMSA’s work.
Selection Criteria:
The following criteria will be taken into account while evaluating your application:
• Only students, or those who have the student status within 6 months prior to the meeting, are eligible to apply;
• Attendance of at least one General Assembly and Being from an associate or full Member NMO.
• Experience in the topic of the meeting - please note that as this is a broad meeting that covers many global health topics, it is expected that applicants will have read the provisional agenda for the meeting and can identify particular topics that they have experienced and/or interest in;
◦ In the Google Form question relating to the challenges and opportunities relating to the topics addressed in the meeting, applicants should choose one agenda item to discuss.
• Motivation for participation;
• Understanding of IFMSA policy work and IFMSA’s external affairs efforts;
• Potential empowerment expected outcomes, and follow up plans after the meeting, including in sharing knowledge with IFMSA delegates to the World Health Assembly;
• Regional representation and gender balance will be taken into account.
However, we also encourage emerging members who are committed to learning, gaining new skills, and participating in IFMSA's activities even beyond the conference.
Delegations Composition:
1 Read membership section: Before you apply, please familiarize yourself with the membership section of the Constitution and Bylaws (last version can be found here) .
2 Candidature Form: Fill them correctly and completely (please download it, and fill it out offline) and attach it to your application form (LINK).
3 Application Form: Fill the online application form completely. This will serve as the basis of your selection (LINK).
4 Briefing with VPM and MDA: After being appointed, the members of the Committee will have a discussion with the VPM and MDA to ensure that we are all on the same page on the task, purpose, and the expected result of the committee .

Dear NMO Presidents,
We are contacting you today to officially open the call for the Membership Review Committee, designed to ensure a lower rate of invalidity for membership applications to our Federation.
1 Background: The membership Review Committee was included in our Constitution and Bylaws in August Meeting 2017. The Committee will consist of 4-5 people that will review the Membership Submissions and provide a Report with their findings. The Federation aims to ensure that students who wish to join us can do so once they are prepared, and have the opportunity to correct technicalities and minor mistakes that we have seen in the past were the main reason for invalidity.
2 Relevant Bylaw Paragraphs: several paragraphs on the committee can be found in Annex 2 of the IFMSA Constitution and Bylaws, find below the information relevant to it:
1 Submission and amending of Membership Applications
▪ 2.17 The Membership Application must be submitted according to paragraph 9.4.
▪ 2.18 A Membership Review Committee shall review the validity of the Membership Application.
▪ 2.19 The Membership Application can be amended, but only according to points mentioned by the Membership Review Committee. The amended application must be submitted according to paragraph 9.4. All changes should be assessed in the membership review report by the Vice-President for Members. If the amendments are too far-reaching the recommendation of the EB shall be to postpone adoption of the membership.
▪ 2.20 The Constitution Credential Committee shall review the validity of the amended Membership Application, taking into account the report by the Membership Review Committee.
2 Membership Review Committee
◦ 2.21 A Membership Review Committee shall be appointed by the Executive Board before the Membership Applications are submitted.
◦ 2.22 The Membership Review Committee shall submit a report to the Executive Board and the applying organisations according to Annex 1. The report shall include the validity review of all submitted Membership Applications and reasons behind the final recommendations.
3 Tasks of the Membership Review Committee:
1 Review Membership Application Validity: The Membership Review Committee will review all the documents that an applying member is submitting for candidate membership or an upgrade of membership status.
2 List down changes to ensure validity: Once they have reviewed the documents, they will need to prepare the status of validity of these applying NMOs’ documents and in the case of an invalid application, provide a list of changes the applicant will need to make for their applications to be considered valid.
4 Important Dates for the Membership Review Committee
1 Dec 1st: Submission deadline for Membership Application. The applications will be shared shortly with the NMOs and the Membership Review Committee will start their work of reviewing the membership applications.
2 January 5th: Submission of the Report of the Membership Review Committee. At this date, the committee’s report will be shared with the NMOs.

Dear NMOs,
With this email, we would like to open an extra call for the Membership Reform SWG, to ensure regional representation and follow the distribution of the mandate.
As you may recall, the mandate and as such this SWG has the aim of coming up with proposals for altering the membership system so as to address the current inconsistencies within it, as well as address the issue of non-UN recognised territories' membership within IFMSA, so as to develop a fairer system for all IFMSA members and without altering the current rights or voting rights of any NMO within IFMSA.
In the concept note you can find a detailed plan of the SWG's work in the coming 10 months, and feel free to reach out to your VPM and MDA with any questions you may have.
The proposed composition of the SWG, still needs:
• At least 1 member from NMOs that fall by bylaws paragraph 2.8
2.8. The above paragraph applies to all members except:
• Existing members who did not fall under it at its adoption (i.e. the Taiwanese NMO).
• Medical students organization that received a standing invitation to participate as a member. Extending a standing invitation is decided by the General Assembly with a two-thirds majority
• At least 1 member from a full NMO
And the selection criteria is as follows:
• Motivation and passion for membership issues and membership development
• Experience in the field of membership, for example as NMO President, VPM IT, RT DA, MRC or MFC SWG
• Experience relevant to writing BCPs, for example as NMO President, CCC experience, or Plenary Team
• Availability in the upcoming term up to AM24

It is a workshop that consists of 4-5 working days with an immersive experience into the heart of research, one that goes beyond the traditional boundaries of research education, an IFMSA workshop where innovation knows no limits.
Now is your chance to be the driving force behind such an extraordinary journey in the lives of your participants. Unleash your imagination as you craft the preliminary proposal.
Also, keep in mind that the possibilities for research education are endless. Research is an inspiring adventure waiting to be discovered. Your theme will shape not just the daily and evening activities, but also the methodologies, outcomes, and the atmosphere of the Research Camp 24.
Selection Process
1 After the candidate hosts fill in the required documents and fill in the form, the SCORE IT will select a maximum of 2 hosts based on the quality of the proposal, budget, the convenience of the venue, and the accessibility of the candidate host countries.
2 The selected hosts will be announced on the servers.
3 The selected hosts will then send the SRT proposal to their relevant Capacity Building Regional Assistant (CB RA), according to the CB Regulations.

The Sessions Team and Support Persons is a group of dedicated members that support the Officials and their International Assistants in the preparation and execution of their respective agendas, in order to achieve the objectives set for the regional meeting.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic members from the region who will join hands with the RT to prepare different ARM sessions which will leave positive impacts for our members and overall development of the region. Remember that we are not not looking for qualified members but rather motivated, ready to learn and effective team players who will take up tasks to deliver a memorable ARM! The WFPHA Fellowship Program aims to strengthen less developed public health associations and foster global partnerships by facilitating the exchange of expertise and knowledge among public health professionals from various countries. In this webinar we will discuss the role of social justice in triage decisions and explore the tension that arises between two key guiding principles in triage guidelines: justice and efficiency. Some experts argue that an emergency is not the place to remedy structural injustices, while others claim that social justice should play a relevant role in triage, as certain disadvantaged groups are negatively affected by common triage criteria. Some questions we intend to discuss in the webinar are: What should be the main goal of triage? Should it be efficiency, social justice, or should efficiency and social justice be given equal weight in triage guidelines? What lessons have we learned from triage decisions during the COVID-19 pandemic in different contexts?

With great pleasure, we would like to open the Call for AMEE Student and New Health Professionals Panel Members: Regional Leads and SWG members' Applications.
Background
The AMEE Students and New Health Professionals Panel is a new panel established by the International Association for Health Professions Education (AMEE) to promote student and young health professional engagement in Health Professions education. The panel will provide a platform for students and new health professionals to share their ideas, experiences, and perspectives on Health Professions education, and to work with AMEE to develop new initiatives and programs that support their engagement.
The International Association for Health Professions Education (AMEE) is excited to announce a call for applications for Regional Leads and Small Working Group members to join the AMEE Students and New Health Professionals Panel.
Each region will have one student lead, one new health professional lead and 2-3 small working group members.
Objectives
• To develop better opportunities for students to engage during the AMEE conference.
• To increase awareness of AMEE initiatives and projects, such as the ESME courses, AMEE Fellowships and associate fellowships, among students and young health professionals.
• To facilitate open communication between AMEE and students and young health professionals about how they envision the future of AMEE.
• To advocate for the needs of students and young health professionals in the field of Health Professions education worldwide.
Aim
The AMEE Students and New Health Professionals Panel aims to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for students and young health professionals in Health Professions education and to promote their active engagement in the curriculum by being an active member and advocate for the youth as one of the many stakeholders within AMEE.
Note: While we do encourage AMEE members to apply, the applications are open for non-members as well. Selected members will be offered a one year trial membership which they can then choose to extend at the end of their tenure in the panel.
To be eligible to apply for a Regional Lead position or Small Working Group member, you must:
• Be a student or new health professional (within 2 years of graduation)
• Be actively involved in Health Professions education
• Be motivated and passionate about promoting student and young professional engagement in Health Professions Education
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Being able to commit 1-2 hours a week for the term towards the objectives of the panel
• Be able to commit to a one-year term

We encourage all students and new health professionals who are interested in shaping the future of Health Professions Education to apply to become a Regional lead or Small Working Group participant of the AMEE Students and New Health Professionals Panel. • Be an active SWG member, communicate and interact with other participants, reply to emails in a timely manner, and engage in the drafting process;

1 Experience in the topic of the Policy Document (depending on which SWG you are applying for);
2 General experience in policy making (related to IFMSA policy or any other policy process). However, even if you are applying in an IFMSA Policy Document SWG for the first time do not hesitate to send in your application. Policy SWGs will be balanced with experienced and new members to ensure continuous capacity building!
3 Motivation to contribute to the IFMSA policy process;
4 Availability during the policy drafting period;
5 Gender and regional balance will be highly taken into account.

A policy document describes IFMSA’s position regarding a global health issue and is of utmost importance to establish the legitimacy of IFMSA’s stance in representing 1.5 million medical students worldwide.

The drafting of the policies will take place from the 17th of November until the 3rd of January, after which the policies will be shared with the NMOs for input. The work of the SWG ends on the 3rd of January, after which the Policy Commission will review the policy document and the input of NMOs. For more details, I would like to refer you to Article 17 of the IFMSA Constitution & Bylaws.

Dear NMOs,
With this email, we would like to open the 2nd call for the Membership Reform SWG. As you may recall, the mandate and as such this SWG has the aim of coming up with proposals for altering the membership system so as to address the current inconsistencies within it, as well as address the issue of non-UN recognised territories' membership within IFMSA, so as to develop a fairer system for all IFMSA members and without altering the current rights or voting rights of any NMO within IFMSA.
In the concept note you can find a detailed plan of the SWG's work in the coming 11 months, and feel free to reach out to your VPM and MDA with any questions you may have.
The proposed composition of the SWG, as slightly modified from the mandate is as follows:
• At least 2 members from associate NMOs
• At least 2 members from NMOs that fall by bylaws paragraph 2.8
2.8. The above paragraph applies to all members except:
• Existing members who did not fall under it at its adoption (i.e. the Taiwanese NMO).
• Medical students organization that received a standing invitation to participate as a member. Extending a standing invitation is decided by the General Assembly with a two-thirds majority
• At least 2 members from NMO that do not fall into those categories.
And the selection criteria is as follows:
• Motivation and passion for membership issues and membership development
• Experience in the field of membership, for example as NMO President, VPM IT, RT DA, MRC or MFC SWG
• Experience relevant to writing BCPs, for example as NMO President, CCC experience, or Plenary Team
• Availability in the upcoming term up to AM24

Circling back from a couple of months ago, SCOPE Initiatives have started with their Pilot Phase introducing more opportunities for the medical students worldwide and reducing the barriers as stated in the SCOPE Strategy. From having an exchange in Multiple Departments through Longer than two weeks duration exchanges and stronger collaboration between SCOPE and SCORE, SCOPE Initiatives have become an extraordinary upgrade. However, we still have some work to do...
As a new task to fulfill, all the NEOs/NOREs/LEOs and LOREs need objective and clear guidelines that align with the SCOPE Regulations. Therefore, I am happy to announce the Call for SCOPE Initiatives Reform Small Working Group members!
The main goal of this small working group is to create an Annex in the SCOPE Regulations, dedicated to SCOPE Initiatives, together with a SCOPE Initiatives Manual. In order to achieve this we need between 5 to 7 motivated and full of ideas IFMSA members who will:
1 Revise and assist in compiling all the resources available for SCOPE Initiatives.
2 Assist in analyzing the Pilot Phase of SCOPE Initiatives.
3 Help with the draft of each type of SCOPE Initiatives Regulations.
4 Brainstorm ideas on the structure and function of the SCOPE Initiatives Manual.
