What is AMEE? AMEE promotes international excellence in education in the healthcare professions across the continuum of undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education. Every year, AMEE organises the largest medical education conference in the world: the AMEE Conference. This year, the AMEE conference will take place in Basel, Switzerland from 24th to the 28th of August 2023. The conference will be held in a hybrid format, making many events of the conference accessible to a wider array of participants.  One of the major opportunities for healthcare professions students during the AMEE conference is to be a member of the Student Task Force (STF). The student task force is a selected group of medical students that show motivation and experience in medical education. These students are required to assist with basic tasks like managing practical issues and assisting conference organisers and participants throughout the event. In exchange for their active participation and contribution, AMEE offers the STF members the chance to attend the conference for free and also provides financial aid to support their travel and accommodation expenses.   This is your chance to be one of the coordinators! Description of the positions As Coordinator, you will be working in a team of six Coordinators, consisting of the EMSA Medical Education Liaison Officer (MELO), the IFMSA Liaison Officer for Medical Education Issues (LME), the EMSA Co-Coordinator, the IFMSA Co-Coordinator, the Online Coordinator and the Local Coordinator from Basel, Switzerland. Altogether, you will be responsible for the management of the AMEE Conference 2024 Student Task Force (STF). Your tasks as a Coordinator will be to: • Support the AMEE Representatives in their tasks related to the AMEE STF; • Read and evaluate the applications for the STF (>1000 applications); • Be responsible for various administrative tasks, e.g. sending invitation letters, answering emails; • Prepare promotional materials for the AMEE STF (such as booklets and guides) to be published on the AMEE Student Task Force's Facebook Page and Instagram Page; • Assist with the coordination of logistical tasks during the Conference; • Support AMEE STF members leading up to and during the AMEE 2024 conference; • Attend the Online Meetings of the AMEE STF Coordinators Group (±1 per month). Specific tasks for the Online Coordinator: • Any online task before, during or after the start of the Conference; • Coordination of the online STF members, specifically during the conference. Attended by delegations from almost 200 Member States as well as recognised international NGOs and other Non-State Actors, the WHA is the annual gathering of the highest decision-making body of the World Health Organization. For the past 11 years IFMSA has been organizing a Youth PreWHA on the days prior to the WHA.  The Youth PreWHA aims to empower and strengthen the advocacy skills and leadership of future health professionals as well as to increase the participants’ knowledge about global health themes that are central to the working of the World Health Organization and  77th World Health Assembly.  The 12th edition will feature a 5 or 7-day workshop, depending on the chosen track, held in Geneva, Switzerland, and conducted in a hybrid format in May. This innovative approach will integrate both in-person and virtual elements, allowing participants to engage in a dynamic learning experience. The theme for the 12th Youth PreWHA is "New Voices in Global Health Leadership, Governance, and Diplomacy." Background: Young people, encompassing diverse backgrounds, face significant challenges related to poverty, institutional support, and accessing gender-sensitive financing. Young women, girls, and gender-diverse youth are especially affected, contending with pervasive gender biases and systemic barriers that limit their active participation and progress in society. These obstacles hinder the substantial contributions that young women and adolescents could make towards advancing gender equality and empowering all women and girls. Goal: In order to better represent medical students across the globe at CSW68 held in New York, USA, SCORA  is currently working on consultations on this year's pirority theme. Thus, this consultation was developed by LRA and EAAs together with the SCORA IT/PC for 2023, refering to suggested question by UN Women. How to contribute: Your input is crucial! In a world dedicated to achieving gender equality, the perspectives, voices, and recommendations of youth are invaluable. We actively seek insightful contributions to shape meaningful discussions and deliberations that will inform policies and strategies, ultimately breaking down barriers to gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls. If you are a medical students, you are invited to participate in this consultation which is being conducted by the International Federation Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) for CSW68.  If you agree to participate in this consultation, you will be asked to complete an online questionnaire (link to questionnaire) before 10th of January 2024 23:59 GMT. The only personal information we will collect is your email address, age, gender, the country in which you attend medical school.  All responses will be kept confidential and used only for data analysis. The data will be accessible only to SCORA IT/PC 2023/2024 involved in drafting the questionnaire and analyzing the results and the IFMSA Team of Officials.

The Reform: the 12th edition of the Youth Pre-World Health Assembly Program will consist of a 5 or 7 days workshop depending on the track acquired that will take place in Geneva, Switzerland and Hybrid throughout the month of May, and will be complemented by Asynchronous and Synchronous Bite sized modules to be completed ahead of the Hybrid Workshop.  The theme will be Youth PreWHA on "New Voices in Global Health Leadership, Governance and Diplomacy" The Youth PreWHA program will be composed of two educational tracks that enable its participants to acquire knowledge and skills on particular topics within global health and cater to different audiences.  Global Health Education Track is created for all participants and is centered   around cross-cutting global health issues focusing on 2 Overarching themes -Meaningful youth engagement and Social Accountability- and  3 key pillars - Global Health Governance , Universal Health Coverage and Health Emergencies & Challenges-.  A Global Health Advocacy Track is created only for the WHA delegates, with the aims of building advocacy efforts in preparation for the World Health Assembly.  This structural change was created to be in line with the WHO 13th Programme of work and current preceding within the WHA  How to apply?
