Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman publicly pledged that by Labor Day weekend, MacArthur Park would be safe enough for him to bring his family there for a picnic.
The picnic happened.
But what happened when the cameras and picnic tables were gone?
This is what I documented the very next day:
A woman exposed from the waist down, visibly scratching and picking at wounds covering her legs.
People slumped over.
Apparent drug use happening openly.
And conditions that residents, parents, businesses and community members have been witnessing long before this highly publicized picnic.
I WILL acknowledge the progress being made.
In my conversations with leadership at LAPD Rampart Division, I was told they now have a dedicated Alvarado Corridor Task Force, with approximately 10 officers specifically assigned to this area seven days a week, although the unit is not operating 24/7.
I was also told that this effort is about more than enforcement.
According to Rampart leadership, they are working alongside local hospitals, missions and community organizations to connect people who want to leave the streets and overcome addiction with services.
I was told there is also a 13-month rehabilitation program designed to help participants stabilize, recover and ultimately transition back into the community.
People in the area who genuinely want help can reach out to Rampart Division and ask about assistance and available resources through the Alvarado Corridor effort.
But success cannot be measured by ONE picnic.
It has to be measured by what MacArthur Park looks like the day after the picnic… the week after… and the months after.

Bunnings, Coles, Woolworths are in the process of currently utilising or trialling the use of Facial Recognition in store.
🔥 With no established legislation on protections for customers, these practices are rolled out without explicit consent, claimed to be in the interests of reducing crime and improving staff safety 🤔
Add to this is the layering of technology and data points, such as;
⚡Loyalty card data
⚡EFTPOS/card payments
⚡Device ID tracking via Bluetooth and WiFi scanning (operates by default on Apple and Android phones)
⚠️ Most people wouldn't be aware that these retail stores have sensors throughout their stores that track you/your device's movement thought the store via this background scanning, which operates even when your Bluetooth and WiFi Antenna are supposedly switched off.
👀 The technology function was rolled out to smartphones during the era of the CON-VID contact tracing apps.
Solutions:
What can you do?
✅ Buy Local from family owned grocers, butchers, bakers, direct to farm orders and any other source that chooses to respect your privacy
✅ Pay in cash
✅ Search for WiFi and Bluetooth Scanning in your phone settings and ensure it is turned off (Off by default on devices with a de-Googled Operating System)
✅ Stop posting photos to social media, turn off facial recognition in photos and opt out of social media AI.
The system relies on fresh data being fed to it 24/7, so cut the cord.
You can do this by;
✅ Switching to a phone running a de-Googled Android Operating System
✅ Changing to a user friendly Linux Operating System on your computer
✅ Turning off WiFi and Bluetooth Scanning
✅ Opting out of AI and facial recognition technology
✅ Deleting or significantly altering your social media habits

NOW starting to understand?
After Oct. 7? After nearly three years of war? After our soldiers uncovered an enormous terrorist infrastructure of tunnels, weapons and command centers embedded throughout Gaza?
Then Kushner admits something else:
“We worked with Hamas for over four months.”
And Hamas supposedly signed an agreement promising to demilitarize.
Seriously?
Hamas carried out Oct. 7. It is a jihadist terrorist organization committed to Israel’s destruction. They are Islamonazis who must be decimated, not talked to!
Yet Washington spends months negotiating with Hamas, admits it is only now comprehending the magnitude of Gaza’s militarization, and then calls Israelis irrational for refusing to entrust our children's future to another promise of “demilitarization”?
Kushner has it backwards.
Israelis understand something Washington is apparently still learning:
The old Gaza paradigm is dead. It was always dead.
In 2005, Israel expelled nearly 10,000 Jews, destroyed 21 Jewish communities and removed every soldier from Gaza.
We were promised peace.
We got Hamas, rockets, terror tunnels and ultimately Oct. 7.
Never again.
And this Israeli awakening is now entering our election.
Ben-Gvir is campaigning for a government ministry dedicated to facilitating Gazan emigration.
Ofer Winter has made Gazan emigration part of his platform.
Moshe Feiglin has been talking about emptying Gaza of the jihadi population for years.
Netanyahu appointed Minister Gila Gamliel to oversee efforts to facilitate Gazan emigration after President Trump himself originally raised relocation in January 2025.
And listen to Avida Bechar, a survivor of Kibbutz Be'eri whose wife and son were murdered on Oct. 7. He came from Israel’s peace-loving Gaza-envelope communities. He believed in coexistence.
Oct. 7 changed everything.
He has repeatedly argued that Israelis will never be safe if one jihadi remains in Gaza.
That isn't “irrational.”
That is Oct. 7 clarity.
For me, the long-term answer is clear: America should use its enormous leverage with Egypt to press Cairo to open the Rafah border and permit Gazans who leave the war zone to enter, while Israel permanently eliminates Hamas and every jihadist military organization threatening our people.
Then Israel should correct the disastrous mistake of 2005.
Rebuild Jewish Gaza.
Bring Jewish life back to the communities we abandoned.
Build them bigger, stronger and more beautiful than Gush Katif ever was.
I look forward to the day when Jewish families are once again building homes, planting fields and raising children in Gaza and when I have a beachfront Gaza home to spend enjoying with my family.
Not a question of if. A question of when.
We Jews have spent too many years allowing other people to tell us what is “realistic.”
We are not the irrational ones. Those who continue to ignore a 1,400+ year jihadi ideology out to persecute all non-Muslims around the globe are the irrational ones.
Strengthen your faith.
Strengthen your Jewish identity.
Strengthen your connection to our God-given ancestral homeland.
