Can the army become 100% de-colonised ? The answer is a straight No. Why : The backbone of the army is based on the regimental systems which have their origins in British era, The cantonments which operates like a mini-military zones for personnel and families are also british origin, the practices like President's toasts (earlier king's or queen's toast) is still in military mess atiquites, the beating retreat is another example. With time India has adopted these ceremonies deep into the core structure of army replacing the British appearances, now if we want to fully overcome these basic things which makes the "modern Indian army" in it's present form will take a very long long time but as they say "impossible" itself says I'm possible.
