FBI affidavit names RedotPay and KAST in Hamas donation instructions An FBI affidavit unsealed on Sep 1, tied to a $560K Hamas crypto seizure, details how an FBI source was told to send funds. β€’ On Feb 10, 2025, the source was told to use a USDT address on Tron and avoid Binance for transfers. β€’ The instruction said: β€œIt is preferable not to use the BINANCE platform...” and listed Trust Wallet, RedotPay, OKX, KAST, and Bybit. β€’ The stated reason was to avoid using data with the group’s official name β€œso that your wallet is not blocked.” Binance was suggested for buying, not sending. β€’ The FBI agent said Binance runs KYC, while the listed tools are β€œcommonly utilized to obfuscate the identity of the sender.” β€’ The same instruction appears in 3 affidavits from June 2025 to August 2026. The FBI says over $3M had been raised by November 2025. β€’ The affidavits do not show a single transfer traced to a RedotPay or KAST account. Both names appear once. Deposit economics are the real card battleground This comparison shows why neobanks and crypto card apps monetize balances very differently. β€’ Revolut Crypto gets about 50% of revenue from interest on customer deposits; Robinhood gets about 37%. β€’ A typical crypto card app gets almost none of that balance revenue because the float sits in USDC or USDT, so the app mainly lives on interchange. β€’ Ethena says issuing the dollar itself keeps the backing revenue inside the app, funding up to 6% on balances plus free onramps with no annual fee. β€’ Stablecoin rails cut the fixed cost of launching a finance app from millions of dollars to thousands. β€’ USDe has moved $30B through mint and redeem with zero loss of backing, paid $750M in rewards, and peaked above $15B in supply. β€’ Coming this month: Android, US and EU rollout, more currency savings vaults, and a dollar savings account plugged into DeFi. KAST points now imply a 2x upgrade cost KAST has changed the role of its points program. Points no longer lead to a standard token launch, and any future economic participation is targeted for Q4 2026, subject to legal, regulatory, and board approval. β€’ Current utility is membership upgrades: 25,000 points for Premium or 250,000 points for Private, processed through concierge in up to 5 business days. β€’ At KAST’s own math, 1% of $1,000 in Premium spend equals $10 and 125 points, implying a point value of $0.08. β€’ Premium costs $1,000/year in cash or 25,000 points, while Private costs $10,000/year in cash or 250,000 points. β€’ Using points instead of cash prices both tiers at exactly 2x the cash cost.
