Cid Marie Muñiz, 34, of New Haven 6/6/24 - in January 2024, Cid was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer "Following the diagnosis, Cid started receiving chemotherapy. The chemotherapy sessions often left Cid physically exhausted, in extreme pain, emotionally defeated, missing her second-graders, and struggling to fulfill her daily parenting duties. Cid received a total of 8 chemotherapy sessions" Cid has been a bilingual second-grade teacher for the last 8 years. She works for New Haven Public Schools at the district's largest PreK-8 school. Cid is also the mother of a 7-year-old daughter.

Sierra Innamorato, 21, of Deep River During the third week of May 2024, Sierra was diagnosed with pneumococcal meningitis, a rare & life-threatening bacterial infection "Sierra’s brain suffered massive swelling by the time she was rushed to Hartford Hospital. The doctors immediately took her into an operating room and conducted a 5-hour craniotomy in the middle of the night. Sierra had the left side of her skull removed to treat the infection & help reduce the swelling" "The doctors think she may have had a sinus infection when she hit her head. A simple bump to the head took the infection from her sinuses to her brain, & now her life was at risk" Sierra will eventually be released from the hospital & transferred to a long-term rehabilitation facility. There, she will have to re-learn how to walk, talk, & do everyday tasks" In 2021, Sierra was a senior at Valley Regional High School She is currently a student at SCSU 2.18% Vaccine Exemptions at Valley Regional High School Survey Results 2021–2022

Sarah Dynia Izquierdo, 37, of Enfield, died after giving birth to her newborn daughter, Ayla Izquierdo, on June 1, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital. “She had complications in childbirth this weekend. Fortunately her little girl is fine and healthy“ 3/1/21 - "proud to be vaccinated" Sarah worked as a Special Education teacher at the Henry Barnard School in Enfield. She previously taught at Eli Whitney School.

Judie has been at Side by Side Charter School since 1997. She is passionate about teaching and has devoted much of her life to helping our littlest students learn to love school. She fought the battle for 14 months, suffering along the way 4/13/23 - It has been a whole year since The Deleon family received the heartbreaking news about Kylie's cancer. Despite her courageous fight, she is currently receiving home hospice care. Aaron Pelletier, Trooper First Class, was struck and killed last week by a suspect high on cocaine and fentanyl while conducting a routine traffic stop on a state highway. His widow Dominique choked back tears as she paid tribute at his funeral on Wednesday, remembering him as 'my honey, my home, my heart and my best friend.'

Enfield Couple Awaiting The Birth Of Their Son Are Devastated By News Of Husband's Diagnosis Of Grade 4 Glioblastoma Joshua Chaffee, 45 6/12/22 - On May 22, family & friends threw the couple a baby shower. After the joyous event, Joshua felt the resumption of a headache which had been bothering him for about a month. "That day, he couldn't answer any of my questions, & later began vomiting,” Michelle said. At Johnson Memorial Hospital, a CAT scan showed a mass on his brain. Joshua was diagnosed with Grade 4 Glioblastoma. 9/3/22 - Josh’s current treatment plan is a 5/23 chemo regimen (5 days of high dosage chemo, 23 days off) for one year. . .
