While it's generally accepted that Buddhists had collaborated with Arabs during the Islamic conquest of Sindh, In all primary sources not a single Buddhist name appears to resist Islamic invasion all of them are collaborators.
Hindu resistance under Raja Dahir remained resolute until his defeat. Almost all recorded instances of Hindu collaboration occurred after the conquest mainly in administrative roles under Arab rule. This collaboration did not protect the Buddhists. Within a relatively short period after the conquest, Buddhism largely disappeared from the region as a living community. By the time Al-Biruni wrote in the 11th century he had to rely primarily on Hindu sources for information about Buddhism, as local Buddhist communities had vanished.
On the eve of Arab's conquest of Sindh, almost half the population was Hindu. After 1200 years of subjugation and oppression, Hindus still consisted of the 25% of population in the region in early 20th century. The ones who resisted Islam ensured their survival
