Haiti 🇭🇹 Over past two weeks we have been able to bless a lot of people who were affected by the flood. This flood was a crisis on top of a crisis. For many, it is already difficult to live, but now they have lost even more. Others lost their livelihood in the flood. At one time, a disaster such as this would have brought a much bigger response from humanitarian aid groups. But now, with the security issues, there was almost no response. There is a shortage of clean drinking water and we have been able to supply over 3,000 gallons of water. We also have been able to provide jobs to locals by employing people to clean out houses and yards from all the sludge that the flood brought in. This also has gave us a tremendous opportunity to interact one on one with those affected by the flood and we have met many grateful people. Introducing Staff introductions ☺️ Meet Thea Gorber from Lobleville Tennessee. She serves as our administrative assistant. She has served in this role since July 2021. Her duties are many and include monitoring phone call, emails and she also heads up our finance department. She’s very gifted at what she does and loves a good challenge, her positive attitude and mindset make her excellent in problem solving. Thanks Thea for all your hard work!

Haiti 🇭🇹 As I drove through Legoane just after the flood, I was blessed with how the community was rising up and helping one another. There are business owners who lost their whole life’s work. Many don’t know how to start up again. As I drove through the destruction, two young men, probably around 17 years old, caught my attention. I observed them working hard to clean out a house shoveling the smelly mud and sludge out onto the street. They were barefooted, working in filthy water. A bread vendor came by, walking in the sludge, selling bread. I saw the young men looking at the bread with great longing. One pulled out his pocket and came up with only 25 gourdes. The other searched his pockets and shook his head. Giving the bread vendor the 25 gourdes they were able to buy only one piece of bread. They then split the bread between them. The reality is that this may be all they had to eat for the whole day while working hard in horrible conditions. #Haiti #CrisisResponse #InternationalCrisisResponse #HumanitarianAid #hope #PCCR

Ukraine 🇺🇦 During the early hours of the morning of June 6th, Russian forces blew up the Kakhovka dam creating a humanitarian aid disaster in the city of Kherson as well as over 80 settlements in the region along the Dnipro river. Water levels rose quickly, up to the roofs of homes. People sat on their roofs waiting to be rescued. Those lucky to be living in multistorey apartment buildings may have not gotten flooded, but got completely cut off from the world. Shelling also continues, and in many areas even being on boats is very dangerous. Feeling called to assist, our team quickly travelled from our FOB in Donetsk down to the city of Kherson. God lined everything up and provided us with the right connections, supplies and even two boats. We have now been here for the past week evacuating people from the flooded island district of Kherson city. Also delivering water, medicine, food, NFI's and other aid to many villages along the river that have been suffering due to the flooding everywhere, praying and sharing words of hope to the people. #Ukraine #UkraineWar #InternationalCrisisResponse #HumanitarianAid #HumanitarianCrisis #Hope #PCCR

Haiti 🇭🇹 The situation in the prisons is dire. There are about 700 prisoners altogether, with 60 to 70 people crammed into 15’ x 15’ rooms. Most of these people are so malnourished you can count every bone in their body. The reason for this is that most of them depend on family or friends outside the prison for food and with all the unrest and natural disasters those people are barely surviving themselves and often unable to bring them food. Between the end of October and the beginning of December we delivered food to these prisons every week. In that time, no one died. In December we missed one week and 17 people died. We have also been having church in the prison with about 45 people. They love it and it is a great opportunity to share the Good News of the Gospel. Because we are not allowed to take photos in the prison it has been challenging to communicate to the outside world how bad this situation is. Please pray for these people and for us as we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Ukraine 🇺🇦 Over the past few days, our team had the opportunity to participate in tactical training. The training was taught by a professor from Lviv. Even though I wasn’t able to be there the whole time, I got the first few days and came away with lots of useful information. As a part of the training, they had on-site training scenarios, where we had the opportunity to practice packing and bandaging different wounds, including safety procedures if you're providing first aid under enemy fire. And we had training on working in an ambulance, stabilizing patient's extremities, doing vital signs, and CPR. Ukraine 🇺🇦 Well, it's officially official! Tickets have been purchased, and we are moving back to the US in less than a week! Several months ago, we felt strongly that there was about to be a big shift in our lives, but we didn't know what it would be. We prayed into it a lot and tried to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. With time, it became very clear to us that we are being called back to the US for this season. We have completed our mission here, and it's time for the next step. Although it will be a big change for us, we are excited to move back to the US and see our family and friends again and excited to see what God has for us next! Thank you to each one of you for your prayers and support over the last 15 months! It has meant a lot! With those changes, we have officially given the lead of the Ukraine project to John Heinzel. This past weekend, we held our first ever staff offsite. Our vision for this offsite was to get to know each other better and to have some much anticipated and needed time off. We spent some time discussing our different personality and character traits and talking about how we can best utilize our gifts and talents in the workplace. We also spent time just enjoying each other's company as we discussed family, friendships, and life in general. Personally, I came away from the weekend inspired, refreshed, and looking forward to another year with our team!

Haiti 🇭🇹 “We just want to live” These are the words you hear from the Haitians: people who have learned to live in a country where insecurity reigns and basic needs are hard to meet. In today’s prison service, Pastor Tony talked about how many people are trying to leave Haiti to find peace. When you ask them why they are leaving, they say that they just want peace. They simply want to live in peace. Jesus said “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” That peace or rest that everyone is trying to find can only be found in Christ. After the sermon, one of the lady inmates asked to lead a song. Ukraine 🇺🇦 The full scale war has been going for 449 days now, and every day and night countless defenders stand guard for the peace and sovereignty of this nation, often at the cost of their own lives. These men once had normal lives and jobs like me and you. They once just went about on a normal day when it all tumbled suddenly to the ground. They were called to stand up and protect their families and homes and everything they love.. their Ukraine, and they heeded that call. The cost of freedom is indeed very high, we are reminded of that daily out here, and we remember those who lost their lives and pray and support those that lay down their lives for their loved ones. As a thank you and a way to bring the guys some joy and spiritual support, a pizza oven was purchased and alongside our chaplain, we spent time together with wounded soldiers in a hospital and made fresh pizzas for them on the spot! The warm aroma of pizzas cooking quickly filled the sad, sterile, life-and-death smell of hospital air. It brought many smiles to the faces of the soldiers that walked in. After feeding them with pizzas, fruit and cookies, Leonid spent some time speaking to them about Jesus, how He came and took away our sins on the cross, how we can receive forgiveness of sins. The gospel message of hope and salvation. He spent some time in prayer and also delegated time to speak with some of the men individually. Many were moved, they came out with a brighter, lighter demeanor than when we first saw them. They thanked us greatly for the support and prayers and asked us to please pray for them often, as they very much need it. One casualty evacuation medic (evacuates wounded soldiers from zero line to stabilisation point) expressed her gratitude for us doing this, she told me this is so needed right now at all areas on the front, in all the hospitals, there are so many men that have gazed through the gates of hell and have stared death straight into the eyes, men that have seen things and experienced things that no human was ever designed to experience or see. They are souls that are in need of healing and there is only One who can heal. Keep doing what you’re doing!

Haiti 🇭🇹 This week has been particularly difficult for the prisons. We've not been able to access the food that we were normally able to get due to an increase in gang violence. It's making an already difficult situation even worse.
