Morocco 🇲🇦 As I reflect on the past few weeks of being in Morocco, I'm blown away by the God we serve. There have been so many times we've seen the hand of God over us and the things we do. Starting with our team traveling to Morocco from Ukraine, where we had canceled flights and felt like we were constantly running into walls, to our arrival in Morocco, where we were blessed with the right contacts to help us get our work started. We'll start the day with a plan and ask God to direct our steps, so we meet the people we're supposed to meet. Three hours later we're still sitting in the same tent drinking tea and making new friends. Morocco 🇲🇦 It’s been twelve days since the earthquake in Morocco, and it has been amazing to see how the locals have rallied to help each other in this crisis. The initial needs have been met well, and now the second phase of of the response is underway. With the rainy season and colder weather approaching, the need is for waterproof tents and insulated shelters. Many of the villages still have homes standing, but each aftershock destabilizes more of the houses, rendering them uninhabitable. We are partnering with locals to build simple insulated shelters which will provide a place for these people to call home until they can rebuild next year. Ukraine 🇺🇦 God with us This is something I know to be true. I knew it before Ukraine, that God establishes our steps in life, and how he cares for all our needs. I’ve seen that in my life many times, but never to the extent I have in Ukraine. God cares for each life with so much love and care, and even in the bad moments, God is still good! As a team we have experienced some close calls, the kind that send chills down your spine, but every time we knew the protection came from our heavenly Father. Recently we have been doing pizza projects with the soldiers to share the gospel with them. One of them had “God with us” tattooed on his arm in German. To me, it was another reminder of how He brings us to different places, to meet people that only He knew we would meet. Morocco 🇲🇦 On Friday night a 6.8 magnitude earthquake shook the Atlas mountains in Morocco causing much death and destruction, with almost 3,000 already confirmed dead. Over the past 48 hours, our team has been meeting with the locals, making contacts, and learning the culture. We spent the day going to villages in the mountains affected by the earthquake, assessing the needs, and helping where possible. There are currently some obstacles restricting us from working at full scale. US DISASTER RESPONSE [Florida Hurricane] Literally everything was great! Initially, I was asked to help with housekeeping and cooking, but I was hoping that I’d get a chance to help with the projects, too. But then it was only a small team and I got to help with the chainsaw work and had the opportunity to meet with the homeowners. Experiencing the southern hospitality was also amazing! I didn’t realize how polite everyone is in the south. One of the couples reminded me of my grandparents and made me miss them… it started storming while I was working on their property and they invited me in until the rain let up again and we talked while it rained. When I arrived to get the paperwork signed, the older lady asked if I could pray with them, and then, again, after we were done working on their property. That was really special to me, too. Oftentimes, the homeowners invited us for a meal while we were cleaning up their property, we’d sit around the table and hold hands and pray, it was special. Working with the homeowners, getting to know them and seeing their gratitude… in spite of all the losses, they were so grateful that they still had their family and were still alive. #USDisasterResponse #PCCR #Hope #Disastercleanup

Haiti 🇭🇹 This week we had the amazing opportunity to share the word of God with over 700 inmates. We went deep into the prison and shared with those who don’t have the freedom to come to our regular prison services. We were met with a lot of enthusiasm and plan to do this once a month. I am always amazed at the hunger for Gods word that we find with in the prisons. This week, we will visit a prison that we haven’t been to yet. Ukraine 🇺🇦 Through the pizza project, we’ve had the opportunity to preach the Gospel to the military. Many of the soldiers have lost hope and, being in danger for a long time and seeing their friends die, many live in constant fear. Wherever we went, we made pizza for them, prayed with them, and when we shared the word of God, we saw joy and hope begin rising up in their hearts. They thanked us profusely for coming to them and not forgetting about them. The hearts of the men serving in the military are open and many of them have accepted salvation. US DISASTER RESPONSE [Florida Hurricane] As I was sitting in the skidsteer, my phone rang. I dug it out of my pocket, saw that it was a Florida number and immediately answered. On the other end, a man asked if we could come and get a tree off his house roof. I replied: “Sure, I will be over later today to take a look at it.” After a few setbacks I made it over there and immediately liked him. That was the beginning of a great relationship. I noticed that his roof was damaged and really needed to be tarped before it rained again. We made that a priority and still did it for him that night. After we were done, he asked if we had time to drop by his mom’s house to pick up some food. He told us she had a generator and was making food for all the neighbors. When we arrived, we were welcomed into a house full of people all sitting around talking and eating. Even the dogs were nice. It felt like Christmas or Thanksgiving. I have seen this over and over. When the going gets tough, the tough get going, they pull together and the end result is awesome. We are still in contact with this person who shall remain unnamed, but he has been a great help to us and has connected us to several people less fortunate than himself. #USDisasterResponse #PCCR #Hope #Disastercleanup

US DISASTER RESPONSE [Florida Hurricane] The need in Florida is huge. There are very few volunteers in the area which leaves more opportunity for contractors to take advantage of people. A homeowner told me someone gave him a price of $12,000 to remove two trees and clean up his yard. We did it in less than a day with three people and a skidsteer. There is no end in sight here with the available work in the town of Perry. I know there are several other towns that were hit just as badly and a few that are worse. Someone will need to help clean up the mess and many of these people cannot afford to hire contractors.
