📌 Candidates must be enrolled in a doctoral program, or have obtained a PhD not longer than four years previously at the time of the application deadline (not before 21 September 2022). 📌 The selected candidates will be invited to spend a term of three consecutive months at the IWM in Vienna between February and June 2027. 📌 The stipend is of EUR 3,300 per month (postdoctoral candidates), or of EUR 2,750 (PhD students) per month. The Department of German and Russian at Williams College seeks to fill a one-year visiting assistant professor position in Russian to begin in July 2027. The teaching load is four courses, or the equivalent, across two semesters: two in the fall and two in the spring. Specialization is open. PhD preferred. Native or near-native proficiency in the language is required. A passion for teaching is a must. Specifically, the successful candidate will have significant language teaching experience, innovative ideas for upper-level courses in Russian, and a desire to work effectively, both inside and outside the classroom, with a student population that is broadly diverse.
