After seeing photos of their daughter’s body on social media, Aya’s family contacted the new government forces to claim her remains. When Aya’s father met with the militants on January 25th—asking, "Did you not have a single bullet to kill her? Why did you kill her under torture? Why did you dismember and burn her?"—he was arrested. His whereabouts remain unknown. Aya’s body has not yet been returned; Syrian government forces are reportedly demanding $1,000 USD for the release of her remains.
The family is originally from Aleppo, and has been displaced four times: first to Afrin, then to Shahba, Tabqa, and finally Raqqa.
Community Peacemaker Teams (CPT) – Iraqi Kurdistan has confirmed these human rights violations through eyewitness testimony, interviews, and documented photographic and video evidence.

Extrajudicial Executions in Raqqa: Two Members of Kurdish Family Killed by Syrian Government Forces
On January 18, 2026, armed members affiliated with the new Syrian government—which recently seized control of Raqqa—arrested and killed a 16-year-old Kurdish child named Farid Rabie Bakir. Following the killing, the perpetrators decapitated him. His remains were transported to Aleppo; eleven days later, they were returned to his family and buried in the village of Maidano in Afrin.
The following day, January 19, Farid’s cousin, 22-year-old Aya Izzat Siraj, was also arrested in Raqqa and killed. Aya died as a result of severe beating and torture. The perpetrators subsequently severed her left hand and leg and burned parts of her body.

🚨The Damascus government is placing the most radical individuals linked to MIT near Kurdish regions.
Adnan Khaled al-Setuf is a commander in the al-Amshat group and an extreme radical. Originally from Hama, he has ties to MIT, and through the Turkish occupation, he and his militia group were transferred to Libya. He is now in the town of Shaddadi, in the southern countryside of Hasakah, and the group affiliated with him consists mostly of hardline radicals.

And it continues - despite a curfew being in place - the arab residents of Hassakeh have started to march towards the city Centers, firing randomly into the sky.

Naturally, Syrian Government Media is trying to spin the truth to create the narrative that *Evil Kurds* are suppressing the Arabs residents in Hassakeh.
We warned yesterday about it and reported it as it happened - this was a group of individuals of Arab ethnicity who opened fire on the designated MOI route in an effort to disrupt the integration process and reignite tensions between the SDF and STG

Kidnapped Child Murdered in Aleppo!
Mihemed Ehmed El Esaf, a child living in the El Shaar neighborhood of Aleppo, was kidnapped by unidentified individuals, and his body was found 20 days later. It was learned that the kidnappers demanded a $3,000 ransom from the family for his release, but instead of freeing him, the child was murdered.
Hours after the body was found, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) announced that they had arrested the kidnappers. However, this announcement was met with criticism due to the questions it raised. The public questioned how individuals who went unidentified for 20 days could be identified and arrested within hours of the child's murder. The failure to reveal the perpetrators' identities has raised concerns that the government may be protecting some individuals involved in the crime.

Farhad Shami, director of the media center for the SDF, stated that an initial contingent of 100 to 125 members of the Syrian Transitional Government (STC) would enter the city of Hasakah on Monday in 15 vehicles.
Shami explained that a second contingent of the same size would enter the city of Qamishli on Tuesday. He noted that all of these forces are from Daraa Governorate, a condition stipulated by the SDF within the existing agreements.
He indicated that the forces entering Hasakah would be stationed at three or four designated locations within the city center, accompanied by Asayish (Kurdish security forces), and their presence would be for a limited period.
He added that the mission of these forces is limited to overseeing the integration process, and they will leave the area upon completion of their tasks.
In Hasakah, the entry of these forces was initially planned to be via the Panorama roundabout, but the route has been changed for the time being to the Ghazl roundabout for security reasons.
