Kurdish youth are refusing to leave the street and are currently in front of the Palace of Justice. They say they will remain there until morning, declaring that no sign will be displayed without the Kurdish language.

Kurdish youth took to the streets to protest against the interim Damascus government's attempts to reinstall Arabic signs on the justice buildings in Qamishlo and Hasakah. Hundreds of people gathered around the two buildings.

To make it clear. This is the justice palace in Afrin. The sign is written in Arabic and Turkish - carries the colour of Turkeyiye. The Syrian Government and its supporters are perfectly happy with it - no protests nor demands that the sign be changed. Despite the fact that Afrin does not have a Turkish population and that this sign is illegal according to Syrian law. Yet in Hassakeh they are vowing military actions against the Kurdish people if the sign includes the Kurdish language. It is not about the law, nor is it about *Syrian Sovereignty* - it is purely driven by hostile intentions towards the Kurdish people.

The people of Rojava are protecting their language and identity. Dozens of Kurds demonstrated in front of the Palace of Justice in the city of Hasakah to protest the removal of the sign that included the Kurdish language.

URGENT The Damascus government continues to toy with the Kurds’ sensitive nerves by following the Turkish state’s lead. After the Damascus government which denies the Kurdish language, hung a sign only in Arabic on the Hasakah Justice Building, Kurdish youths took the sign down once again.

Israel and America are attacking Iran, and Iran is once again targeting the Kurds! Iranian drones attack in the Kurdistan Region targeted a base belonging to the Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK).

Several explosions have been heard in Sirik County, southern Iran, according to Mehr News Agency. "The exact nature of these explosions is not yet clear, but it seems the sounds are related to clashes in the waters of Sirik County," a Mehr reporter said.

Fox News: The United States carried out strikes on Iran’s Qeshm Port and Bandar Abbas but a senior U.S. official says this is NOT a restart of the war.

U.S. CENTCOM: U.S. forces intercepted unprovoked Iranian attacks and responded with self-defense strikes as U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyers transited the Strait of Hormuz to the Gulf of Oman, May 7. Iranian forces launched multiple missiles, drones and small boats as USS Truxtun (DDG 103), USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115), and USS Mason (DDG 87) transited the international sea passage. No U.S. assets were struck. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) eliminated inbound threats and targeted Iranian military facilities responsible for attacking U.S. forces including missile and drone launch sites; command and control locations; and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance nodes. CENTCOM does not seek escalation but remains positioned and ready to protect American forces.

Speaking of the marginalisation of Kurds Syria. This morning in Raqqah, Syrian Government Forces raided and detained 10 Kurds of the Sheikhan tribe. Their agricultural lands were seized by the Syrian Government. Just today, 10 Kurdish families(!) had to leave Raqqah city and fled as IDPs towards Qamishlo. Over the past week several cases of forceful displacements of Kurdish families from Raqqah have become known. This follows an arrest campaign by the Syrian Government across Raqqah city and province; Kurds are being collectively accused of being *separatists* and subsequently arrested.

The Syrian Government has intensified their efforts to further marginalise the Kurdish people in Syria. By orders of the Syrian Government, the Justice-Palace (Courthouse) building had its Kurdish (&Arabic) elements in the building and the walls removed and replaced it with English and Arabic elements. The courthouse of a Kurdish region and city now does not allow the use of the Kurdish language - a direct violation of the integration agreement. Now there is popular unrest in the city. Kurdish residents have torn down the sign. Syrian Government affiliates are again issuing calls for a tribal mobilisation against the Kurds.
