Cairo has reportedly sent Dassault a formal request for proposal (RFP), seeking technical and commercial terms for the potential purchase. Dassault has declined to comment on the report. Egypt already has 54 Rafales on order, with the fleet expected to reach that number by the end of 2026 following deals signed in 2015 and 2021. A new 24-jet purchase would potentially bring Egypt’s Rafale fleet to 78 aircraft. However, an RFP does not represent a finalized contract, meaning the reported deal remains under consideration.
