Part (2/2)
As we know throughout the years Hitler has publicly/privately praised Alfred Rosenberg as the true ideologue of the party. But how do we know these thoughts are genuine and not just public appeal to Rosenberg himself? For one, Hitler made him specifically the ideologue of the party. He at no point in the history of the third reich has renounced that along with the fact that the works of Alfred Rosenberg has been promoted all throughout official NSDAP literature.
In a personal letter sent by Adolf Hitler to commemorate Alfred Rosenberg's fiftieth birthday in 1943. He writes:
"I still remember the day I first met you in Dietrich Eckart's apartment. Since then, you have become one of the Party's leading intellectual architects. What you have contributed over these many years to clarifying and solidifying the ideological foundations of the movement will one day be recorded in history. No less significant are your services to the unified structure and direction of the National Socialist press, which you yourself, as editor-in-chief of the Völkischer Beobachter, decisively guided for many years. Your work in cultural policy, which so often brought us together, especially at the Nuremberg conferences, also represents an enduring contribution to National Socialist intellectual heritage. The great new task entrusted to you will forever link your name with the creation of the Greater German Reich. But above all, I would like to thank you on this day for the unparalleled fidelity and great loyalty you have shown to my work and to me personally over the many years. I know that you are one of the most distinguished human beings that fate has ever brought me into contact with."
[Signed — Adolf Hitler]
No doubt when Hitler was uncomfortable with certain aspects of Rosenberg's personality, was prepared to distance himself from Rosenberg's views only when it served his purpose, and made private remarks about him to some party colleagues (Albert Speer, Heinrich Heim). Nevertheless, these two documents, both of which were the direct result of Hitler's personal decision to honor Rosenberg when he could easily have sidelined him, show a remarkable appreciation for Rosenberg's views and role in creating the Party's Weltanschauung.

Part (1/2)
Despite Alfred Rosenberg being entrusted with the supervision of the entire intellectual and ideological training and education of the Party by Adolf Hitler himself, a number of people deny Alfred Rosenberg's legitimacy as a National Socialist and philosopher of it. Two key pieces of documentary evidence provide direct information about Hitler's personal attitude towards Rosenberg's work. One is Hitler's decision to make Rosenberg the first recipient of the National Prize for Art and Science that he received at the Party Congress in 1937. The official citation approved by Hitler, which Goebbels read to a mass meeting, states:
"The Führer has awarded the German National Prize to his party comrade Alfred Rosenberg, the first living recipient of this honor. In his works, Alfred Rosenberg has made outstanding contributions to the scientific and intuitive foundation and consolidation of the National Socialist worldview. He has earned exceptional merit in his tireless struggle to maintain the purity of the National Socialist worldview. Only time will be able to fully appreciate the profound influence this man had on the intellectual and ideological development of the National Socialist Reich. The National Socialist movement, and indeed the entire German people, will welcome with deep satisfaction the Führer's recognition of Alfred Rosenberg, one of his oldest and most loyal comrades, by awarding him the German National Prize." [1]
The official NSDAP newspaper 'Völkischer beobachter' too had noted how significant this day was towards the essence of National Socialism.
"The cultural conference at the Nuremberg Opera House, a celebration as unique as it was uplifting, immediately followed the opening of the congress. It was the proclamation of German sovereignty in cultural creation and art. It was only natural that it occupied such a prominent position within the framework of the party congress, as it gave meaning and expression to one of the most essential aspects of the Führer's and National Socialism's educational and training work on the German people."
