Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:
“There is a connection between the eyes and the heart — whatever one of them engages in, the other will engage in. When one is good, the other will be good; when one is corrupt, the other will be corrupt. If the heart is corrupt, the eyes will be corrupt, and if the eyes are corrupt, the heart will be corrupt. His heart becomes like a dunghill, which is the place of filth and impurities.
Consequently, his heart is not suitable to house knowledge of Allāh, love for Him, devotion towards Him, and happiness from nearness to Him. It is only suitable to house its opposite.”

Islam is easy, extremism will overwhelm you
Narrated Abu Huraira :
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded.
Sahih Al Bukhari 39
✒ Those Who Remind Of Allāh | May Allāh Make Us Amongst Those
Prophet Muḥammad Ṣallallāhu-ʿAlaihi Wa Sallam said:
إن خيار عباد الله من هذه الأمة الذين إذا رؤوا ذكر الله تعالى
“Indeed, the best servants of Allāh from this Ummah are those who when looked at; remind of Allāh Taʿālā (due to their good character, humility and firmness upon Deen).”

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:
“Do not carry the worries of this life because this is for Allāh. And do not carry the worries of sustenance because it is from Allāh. And do not carry anxiety for the future because it is in the Hands of Allāh. Carry one thing; pleasing Allāh. Because if you please Him, He pleases you, fulfils you and enriches you.”
The Prophet:
“The one who repents from sin is like the one who did not sin.”

Ibn Taymiyyah:
If one repents from sin then the punishment and consequences of the sin are removed.

Ibn al-Qayyim:
Allaah makes the one who repents to be like the one who did not commit the sin.
● [I’laam al-Muwaqqi’een (v. 3 p. 115)]
Ibn al-Qayyim:
If someone repents from sin then in terms of consequences it is as if it never occurred.

✒ Reward Of 50 Companions (Allāh Be Pleased With Them)
Prophet Muḥammad Ṣallallāhu-ʿAlaihi Wa Sallam said:
“.. For indeed ahead of you are days of patience in which patience would be like GRASPING a HOT COAL, the one who acts rightly during that period will have reward the likes of FIFTY MEN who act like he does.”,
The Prophet (Ṣallallāhu-ʿAlaihi Wa Sallam) was asked by Ṣaḥābah: “O Messenger of Allāh reward of fifty men from amongst us or them?”, he replied: “Rather, reward of fifty (men) from amongst YOU.”

Imam Dhahabi: “Either you speak with knowledge or you remain silent with gentleness.”

Ḥasan al-Baṣrī رحمه الله said:
"Death exposes the reality of the dunya, so a wise man should not feel contentment in it."

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله listed a few consequences of sinning/disobeying Allāh:
• Lack of success
• Corrupt views
• Blindness from truth
• Corruption of the heart
• Failing to remember Allāh ﷻ
• Wasting of time •Avoidance & hate by the creation
• Separation between the servant & his Lord
• Supplication not being answered
• Hardness of the heart
• Decaying of blessing in provision & age
• Prevention from attaining knowledge
• Humiliation
• Insults from the enemies
• Constriction of the chest
• Affliction with evil friendship, those who corrupt the heart & make one waste the time
• Prolonging of sadness & grief
• Miserable life
• Disappointment

Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal said:
"Intend good. As long as you intend good, you’ll always be in a state of good."
