Research meaning can be better understood by going through the research aim as stated below.
The main objective of performing research is to discover new facts.
Research is also done to verify and test facts.
Research could be done to analyze a particular event, process, or phenomenon to identify the exact cause-and-effect relationship.
Research develops new scientific tools, concepts, and theories to solve scientific and non-scientific problems.
Research is also directed towards finding solutions to existing everyday problems.
Research is directed toward the review and synthesis of existing knowledge.
🎓Characteristics of Research
Knowing the research characteristics is crucial for better understanding the research's meaning and related concepts. The features of research can be better understood by going through the explanation below.

👉Objectivity: Research is considered to be authentic only if it is free from any sort of biases. It should not be inclined to any personal biases of the researcher or should be influenced by their quality or conduct.
👉Reliability: Reliability, also called verifiability, means consistency in the results generated by research. It states the degree to which the examination produces a predictable outcome. If the research yields similar results each time it is conducted, with a similar population in a given context with similar procedures, then it is reliable.
👉Validity: Validity is a very important feature of any research where the research needs to be accurate regarding procedures, research instruments, tests, etc. The research should measure what we initially proposed to gauge. Validity could be of different types, such as.
✍️Internal Validity: Higher internal validity means a greater causal relationship between two or more variables.
✍️External Validity: External Validity means that external factors should not affect the research. All the external factors affecting the research need to be controlled.
✍️Face Validity: This means that the research should accurately measure what they are supposed to measure.
✍️Content Validity: This means that the research should measure all the aspects of the constructs instead of just a part of it.
✍️Criterion Validity: Criterion validity measures the accuracy of the test outcomes. This tells us if the research is capable of measuring something or not.
Construct Validity: Construct validity means that the research should be able to measure what it is intended to measure.
👉Accuracy: Accuracy means that the exploration apparatus has been chosen in the most ideal way and the research methodology suits the examination issue or not.
Credibility: This means that the data and techniques used in exploration are the best, and they should also be time efficient.
👉Generalizability: The research discoveries should apply to a larger audience and not be constrained to a smaller group. The sample chosen for the research should also be representative of the larger audience and have all the properties of the population so that it becomes applicable to a larger audience as well.
