🎙 Answers by President of Russia Vladimir Putin to media questions following his working visit to Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek, September 1, 2026) Key points: #RussiaUS • Contacts between Russia and the US have always existed, even during the most difficult periods of the Cold War, and they continue today. • Direct contacts are maintained between the Heads of the intelligence services. Quite recently, we returned a US citizen to the American Side who had been serving a prison sentence in Russia. • We are absolutely comfortable working with people we know well and generally trust. They are close to President Trump, sincere people who are trying to give our work concrete substance. And President Trump trusts them, which is very important. Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are therefore always welcome guests in Russia, and we are pleased to work with them. #UkrainianCrisis #NATO • We believe that negotiations – any negotiations – should above all have concrete substance. If someone is capable of making a positive contribution to a negotiating process that is currently, to a certain extent, frozen, we have no objection. What is needed here are specialists, military experts and diplomats. • The collective West was given a very apt description back in Soviet times – the sharks of imperialism. If anyone tries to drag us down the food chain and devour us, they may well get their teeth knocked out. Russia is ready to do that, despite the rapidly growing appetites – and teeth – of these sharks. • Despite everything, Russian forces continue to increase the pace of their advance in the special military operation zone. • Strikes continue against Ukrainian military facilities, industrial enterprises, ports and logistics infrastructure used in the interests of the Ukrainian armed forces – in response, as is well known, to the Kiev regime’s continuing attacks on Russian civilian infrastructure, fuel and energy facilities and oil refineries. ❗️ Any military facilities in Ukraine are legitimate targets for us – British or otherwise. • The Russian Armed Forces have been instructed to prepare and carry out large-scale strikes against Ukraine’s energy facilities. They strike ours – they will get a response. #Germany #Leipzig • As for the actions of the German authorities, they are primarily driven by Germany’s domestic political situation. • Chancellor Merz is in a difficult domestic political position and does not enjoy the confidence of his citizens. It is clear why: he is not defending Germany’s national interests, but trading them away. There are obvious economic failures – businesses are closing, people are losing their jobs and living standards are falling. • [Germany's recent move] is yet another mistake – a serious oneand, in my view, one that clearly runs counter to the interests of the German people. #Japan • We have not taken a single step toward worsening Russia-Japan relations. We treated them with great care. Everything happening now in Russia-Japan relations, including their deterioration, is entirely of the Japanese government’s making. Read in full

***   🔔 Russian Embassy School in Bangladesh celebrated New School Year   Long-awaited reunions with friends and teachers, meeting new classmates, warm greetings, and the anticipation of new beginnings—this is how the school year began at the Russian Embassy School in Dhaka. A celebration was held to mark Knowledge Day. Students performed songs and dances, recited poems, and shared their summer impressions.   Ambassador Alexander Khozin congratulated the children, their parents, and teachers on the occasion, wished them success, and encouraged them to help each other and support their younger classmates. He also emphasized that to achieve good grades, it is important to study hard, of course, but also to rest properly.   The Director of the School Natalia Gapeeva delivered the welcoming address. She reminded the audience that 2026 has been declared the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, and that an atmosphere of friendship, unity, mutual assistance, and support between our peoples is fostered at school.   🏆 At the celebration, second-grade student Roman Skarednev and ninth-grade student Kristina Mikhailova were awarded diplomas for their participation in the drawing competition on the occasion of Mother Language Day, where they took first place in their age groups.   🎨 The creative success didn't stop there: during the summer holidays, the children attended art classes, and their drawings were displayed today at the exhibition named "Art Holidays in Dhaka".

⚡️ Article by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, “International Cooperation in the Arctic: Challenges and Opportunities,” published on Arctic.ru 📰 Read in full ✍️ On 19 August, a landmark event took place in Arctic shipping. For the first time, a container ship from China arrived at the port of Murmansk via the Northern Sea Route, a vital part of the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor. In collaboration with our international partners this represents the start of a new phase in the development of Russia’s Arctic region, which accounts for at least 10 percent of the country’s GDP and is home to more than 2.5 million of our citizens. In this regard, I would like to share a number of considerations on how we assess the current state of affairs in the Arctic and how we plan to develop international cooperation there. *** Russia and international partners in the Arctic • The Foundations of the Russian State Policy in the Arctic for the Period up to 2035, approved by President Vladimir Putin, focus the efforts of all government bodies on improving the quality of life for the population of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, promoting economic growth in its territories, protecting the environment and fostering mutually beneficial international cooperation. <...> Foreign policy priorities in high latitudes have been enshrined in the currently effective Concept of the Foreign Policy of the Russian Federation of March 31, 2023. • In the Arctic, Russia is seeking to preserve peace and stability, reduce the level of threats to national security, and create favourable external conditions for the country’s socio-economic development. We are open to interaction with all constructively minded foreign countries displaying reciprocal readiness to put these ideas into practice. • The countries that cooperate closely with us in the Arctic include, first and foremost, China and India. <...> There are prospects for interaction in the Far North with Brazil, Indonesia, Iran and other #BRICS countries. Challenges for international cooperation in the Arctic • Preserving the Arctic as an area of peace and cooperation meets the interests of the entire international community, and Russia is undoubtedly interested in this as well. • Meanwhile, there are those who do not share this point of view. How else can one explain the fact that NATO countries, as well as the Alliance as a whole, are driving the region towards militarisation and creating hotbeds of international tension there? <...> NATO is conducting large-scale military exercises involving non-regional countries and introducing new components of its command-and-control system. • Such military activity in the Far North poses a direct threat to Russia’s security. <...> NATO and other Western countries make no secret of their true motives, openly declaring their intention to turn the Arctic into a new front for opposing the development of Russia and its like-minded partners. • One manifestation of the West’s anti-Russian policy has been the disruption of previously effective mechanisms of multilateral cooperation in the Far North. <...> The Arctic Council, established almost 30 years ago, on September 19, 1996, remains the only functioning intergovernmental format. Russia is ready to resume the full-fledged work of the Arctic Council, provided that all parties engage in good faith and take into account the legitimate interests of every participant. The future of international cooperation in the Arctic • A glance at the world map makes it clear that Russia has been, is, and will remain a leading Arctic state. <...> The strategic importance of the Arctic to our country’s national interests and security will also continue to grow. • In our economic activities, we will continue to proceed from the understanding that the Arctic maritime areas form an integral part of the World Ocean. • Russia’s foreign policy in the Arctic will remain comprehensive and pragmatic. We support the Arctic’s development as an integral part of the broader Eurasian space of security and cooperation.

#MultiethnicRussia The Tatars are the second-largest ethnic group in Russia, with about 5 million people. They mainly live in the Republic of Tatarstan, but large Tatar communities can be found across the country as well. Most Tatars are Sunni Muslims, though their culture combines Islamic traditions with centuries of coexistence with Russian culture. Tatar cuisine is famous for dishes like echpochmak and chak-chak, while traditional music and embroidery remain important parts of their identity. The Tatars are descendants of Turkic peoples of the Volga region and the medieval Golden Horde. Today, Tatarstan is considered one of Russia’s most economically developed and culturally vibrant regions. Photo: RIA Novosti, povar.ru #NationalUnity #YearOfUnityOfThePeoplesOfRussia

✉️ President of Russia Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants, organisers, and guests of the 11th Eastern Economic Forum, which will take place on September 1–4 in Vladivostok (August 30, 2026) ✍️ Friends, I am pleased to welcome you to Vladivostok for the 11th Eastern Economic Forum. 🎙 Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova's statement on the Kiev regime’s attacks in the Sea of Azov and Black
🎙 Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova's statement on the Kiev regime’s attacks in the Sea of Azov and Black Sea undermining global food security (August 12, 2026) 💬 Throughout the summer, the Kiev regime has been stepping up attacks on coastal transport, logistics infrastructure and civilian vessels in the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea, using unmanned systems and intelligence supplied by NATO and EU countries. Key agricultural cargoes have come under attack, including grain and sunflower oil transported under foreign trade contracts. 👉 We would like to highlight several incidents involving casualties that illustrate Kiev’s criminal activity: – On June 5, Ukrainian drones struck the dry cargo vessels Natra and Zircon in the Sea of Azov. Sailing under the flags of Belize and Palau, they were en route from Turkiye to the port of Rostov-on-Don to arrange the transportation of grain. Five people were killed and three were injured. – In July, at least 100 Ukrainian drone attacks were recorded against commercial vessels in the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea carrying Russian agricultural products to global markets. • On July 18, the Marshall Islands-flagged commercial bulk carrier MV OMORFI, which was transporting grain, was attacked in Russian territorial waters. One crew member, an Indian national, was killed. • On July 25-27, Ukrainian attacks damaged an export grain terminal in Rostov-on-Don. • On July 30, the seaport of Taman was also damaged. – On August 3, Ukrainian drones targeted the Cameroon-flagged vessel Nadezhda, owned by a Turkish operator, some 30 miles off the Russian coast. The vessel was carrying fruit and vegetables from Samsun, Tгrkiye, to Novorossiysk. Four sailors were injured, the engine room was damaged and a fire broke out on board. • On August 3, Ukrainian drones also attacked another Turkish dry cargo vessel, Yaȿar. *** Apart from civilian casualties and material damage to international merchant vessels and port infrastructure, these AFU strikes, which serve no military purpose and violate international law guaranteeing the safety of civilian shipping, have disrupted the dispatch of prepared cargoes along established export routes. They have caused delays in deliveries of grain, oilseeds and feed crops to international importers, the needs of which are met to a significant extent by Russian companies. Against this backdrop, Russia's Armed Forces are taking steps to ensure the safety of navigation. They are carrying out precision strikes against facilities used by the AFU in the Black Sea to destabilise the maritime security environment, as well as infrastructure and vessels involved in delivering Western weapons and military equipment to the Kiev regime. This work will continue until the threats to security in the Sea of Azov and Black Sea are fully eliminated. ☝️ It is clear that the Kiev regime’s cynical military campaign aimed at sowing chaos on the global food market – despite Ukraine’s relatively modest share of global food production, however much the Kiev regime may try to claim otherwise – serves the interests of a number of Western countries. It goes hand in hand with illegitimate unilateral restrictions in the financial, economic and energy sectors imposed by the Kiev regime’s Western sponsors, who are acting according to the logic of imposing a neocolonial “rules-based order”. Taken together, these actions exacerbate shortages of grain and fertilisers, drive up global food prices and increase the burden on countries of the Global South and East, which are being held hostage to the irresponsible policies of these “players”. ❗️ We call on the international community and relevant multilateral institutions to provide an objective assessment of the Kiev regime’s crimes, use every available means to put an end to its unlawful activities and ensure the unhindered export of agricultural products.

🇷🇺 On August 22, Russia marks National Flag Day, established by a Presidential Decree in 1994. On this day, we pay tribute to one of Russia’s official state symbols, which, together with the national emblem and anthem, represents the country’s sovereignty and independence and reflects the continuity of generations of its multinational people. Today, the Russian flag is also a visible symbol of protection and the future. In the special military operation zone, servicemen raise the tricolour over liberated settlements. *** The history of the Russian tricolour spans more than three centuries. In 1693, the young Peter the Great raised it as his personal standard in Arkhangelsk, and in 1705 he ordered the white-blue-red flag to be flown on merchant ships. Until the 19th century, Russian sailors would erect a commemorative cross on the shores of newly acquired territories. In 1806, a new tradition emerged. A Russian expedition explored the coast of southern Sakhalin and raised two flags on shore. The St Andrew’s Flag symbolised the role of the Russian Navy, while the white-blue-red flag marked the territory as a new Russian possession. The tricolour became the national flag in 1896, on the eve of the coronation of Nicholas II. ⚪️🔵🔴 On December 25, 2000, the Federal Constitutional Law “On the State Flag of the Russian Federation” was adopted. Under the law, the State Flag of Russia is a rectangular cloth consisting of three equal horizontal stripes: white on top, blue in the middle, and red on the bottom. 💬 President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Russia is a thousand-year-old country and civilisation, and our national flag is a symbol of our unity. I am confident that the national flag will always inspire us to move only forward — towards victory — and to uphold the glory of Russia. #NationalFlagDay

#Antifake Statement from the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Dhaka Regarding Unsubstantiated News Reports on Bilateral Grain Trade and Strategic Cooperation Between Bangladesh and the Russian Federation The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Dhaka has noted with concern recent reports published in a section of Bangladeshi media regarding alleged irregularities in government to government wheat imports from Russia, as well as questions surrounding major bilateral projects in the energy sector. In response to these biased and unsubstantiated claims, which seek to undermine the robust bilateral relations between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of Bangladesh, as well as Russia's enduring contributions to Bangladesh's food and energy security, the Embassy provides the following clarifications. 🌾 All wheat procurement procedures between the governments of the Russian Federation and Bangladesh are conducted with complete transparency and in strict adherence to international trade standards through designated state entities. Under intergovernmental framework agreements, there is no scope for unauthorized third parties or intermediaries to influence pricing structures, as contract execution remains under direct supervision of the respective government authorities. Furthermore, all agricultural commodities exported from Russia undergo rigorous quality control in compliance with international phytosanitary standards and specific technical parameters established by Bangladesh. Cargoes are discharged only after their quality is certified by competent Russian state inspection bodies and subsequently validated through comprehensive physical and laboratory testing by the Directorate General of Food and port authorities upon arrival at Chittagong Port. Consequently, assertions regarding the supply of substandard or compromised grain are entirely without foundation. Allegations concerning the origin of grain shipments are likewise completely unfounded and form part of a politically motivated narrative, as the Russian Federation operates in full conformity with international law and exports grain sourced exclusively through legitimate domestic agricultural sectors. ⚡️In parallel with food security contributions, landmark initiatives in the energy sector remain enduring symbols of strategic cooperation between the two nations. The Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation, Rosatom, alongside associated contractors, implements the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in accordance with world class technological, financial, and safety benchmarks, leaving no room for unauthorized external involvement or financial irregularities. Similarly, Gazprom EP International has maintained a highly positive and constructive role in supporting Bangladesh's domestic energy independence since 2012. Through advanced drilling operations, Gazprom has successfully completed over 20 gas wells, including vital fields in Bhola, enhancing national gas production and helping meet the country's growing industrial and electricity needs. ❗️The Russian Federation continuously regards Bangladesh as a vital, trusted strategic partner. Amid ongoing global economic adjustments and energy security concerns, Russia remains steadfast in ensuring a reliable supply of high quality agricultural products and energy expertise to Bangladesh on equitable terms. The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Dhaka calls upon esteemed media outlets to exercise professional diligence and rely on verified facts, thereby safeguarding the longstanding, friendly, and commercial ties between the two nations. —Press Wing Embassy of the Russian Federation, Dhaka, Bangladesh
