By the way, the "Khazarian Jewish" myth was propagated by a rabbi named Isaac Baer Levinsohn, a Haskalah leader. He proposed this false connection of modern Ashkenazim being inherently linked to the ancient Khazars, a Turkic people located around portions of West Asia and the Middle-East, to make a long story short, to scapegoat them for antisemitic pogroms happening in pre-Soviet Russia and Ukraine. Those who cry for blood against the "Khazarian mafia" have fallen for this lie completely. It is as if to say, the real Jews are not actual Jews, but imposters (and this strikes hard at home with British Israelist and Christian Identity theology).

Mieszko I forcibly Christianized Poland to strengthen his grip over the country and avoid forced conversion by the East Franks. Idolatry was suppressed by smashing pagan idols and sanctuaries, confiscating estates and beheading those who refused to convert.
The brutality of these methods led to a great pagan reaction to the Christianization of Poland. Pagans retaliated by killing Christian priests and destroying churches. By the middle of the 11th century, the land was plunged into chaos, the Christian church in Poland nearly wiped out, and Mieszko’s dynasty temporarily driven from power.
