On the birthday of the great cosmonaut, we share interesting facts about the first human space flight 👇 👟 Before boarding the Vostok-1 spacecraft for the first time, Yuri Gagarin took off his shoes, as this is how one should enter a house according to custom; 🗣️ Gagarin's famous phrase "Let's go!" was not pre-planned. The word is now repeated in every language of the world without translation; 🚀 Yuri Gagarin's height is 1.57 metres, which was a very important parameter for being in the small cabin of the Vostok-1 spacecraft; 🌏 The flight lasted 108 minutes - during this time Vostok-1 travelled 41 thousand kilometres, completely circling the Earth. Yuri Gagarin made a huge contribution to the development of science and humanity, popularisation of cosmonautics and helped raise the country's image in the international arena. My name is Pelinah Gorata Pinaemang! And I'm from Botswana. My impression about the festival that i made this amazing university that had scholarships for graduate programs including quantitative finance. And I believe that when i get back to my country i'll be able to choose just to reach out to other young people as much as the consulate office in our countries. So that a lot of young people can apply!

🌟 Polytech at the World Youth Festival in 😍💚 More than 20,000 participants from 190 countries have gathered at the World Youth Festival 2024! Polytech is actively engaged in the business program of the festival, hosting events for children and school students. Additionally, a showcase of SPbPU's cutting-edge research is on display throughout the festival, introducing audiences to the forefront of academic developments. Among them: 💫 Robotic complex for applying halide glass transparency windows to uncut diamonds; 💫 Intelligent mini-spectrometer, a model of digital engineering sleds for champion Roman Repilov created by PIHS SPbPU employees; 💫 Model of a compact turbofan engine CML-180/240, and much more. The Ministry of Industry and Trade's stand features the International Technology Hub, showcasing youth innovation projects.
