Attention! Beware of Phone Scammers
We are warning about the increased activity of phone scammers, especially through messengers, as well as the use of neural networks and artificial intelligence tools.
Methods used by scammers: 🔺They send malicious links and call on behalf of banks, demanding that you provide an SMS code. 🔺They make calls and send messages through messengers (Telegram, WhatsApp, and others). 🔺They create fake accounts, videos with full voice and image impersonation, pretending to be university rectors, institute directors, or employees of law enforcement agencies (FSB, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Rosfinmonitoring, and others).
If you have doubts about the authenticity of the interlocutor: 🔺Stop the conversation or correspondence with the unknown user. 🔺Report the situation to your supervisor or teacher. 🔺Verify the identity of the contact: if the caller or sender claims to be someone you know, contact them using a known phone number.Stay vigilant! Do not engage with scammers!

Today, let’s talk about one of the main participating countries – China 🇨🇳. ⁉️ Did you know these interesting facts about Chinese New Year celebrations? The date of the Chinese New Year changes every year according to the lunar calendar and can fall in late January or early February. Red is considered a lucky color in China, so it dominates decorations, clothing, and ornaments during the holiday. ‼️ At our celebration, everyone will have a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of ancient art and learn the basics of the exquisite and delicate art of Chinese calligraphy (the art of "Shūfǎ") during a master class.

The center of Polytech park, the point that can be seen from afar and a symbol of our university — the Water Supply Tower. One of the oldest constructions on the SPbPU campus that was built in 1905, three years after the opening of Polytechnic Institute. And always quite photogenic! ❤️

👀 Who are they – these “people in orange”?
The study year has already started and Polytech’s gathered students from all over the world under the same roof. So it is the time for tutors to tackle agenda and prepare for our international friends’ arrivals.
TutorForces SPbPU is a voluntary student association. 🧡
Their mission is to help international students soon settle down in their new university and tune themselves to life in Russia.
👋 What exactly does TutorForces team do?
- meets international students right after their arrival at our city;
- helps with dormitory check-in and document execution;
- tells about life in Russia and Saint-Petersburg;
- organizes colourful events within Polytech as well as in collaboration with other universities.
They become true friends for international students and continue their communication beyond the university!
