Yesterday we have successfully completed the 3 days blood donation campaign at chamo campus and it was a success!
We collected 191 units of blood , congratulations 🙌🙌🙌to all of us , ur hard work and dedication paid off!!!
Despite facing obstacles, we managed to surpass our goal by collecting over 95% of the targeted 200 units of blood during this campaign, which we consider a great success.👏
🙌Thankyouu all for your unwavering dedication and look forward to work with you on our next campaign held in Abaya campus (7-06-2014 - 9-06-2014)

✍️Leprosy( Hansen's disease) is a chronic infectious disease affecting the skin and nerves. Caused by Mycobacterium leprae bacteria.
✍️Transmission:
Mainly through respiratory droplets. Prolonged close contact with untreated individuals.
✍️Symptoms:
Skin lesions with or without loss of sensation, numbness & peripheral nerve enlargement.
✍️ Diagnosis:
Clinical examination, slit skin smear, & skin biopsies.
✍️Treatment:
Multi-drug therapy (MDT) with antibiotics.
✍️Stigma & Myths:
Dispel misconceptions, & emphasize a non-contagious nature.
✍️Prevention:
Early detection, prompt treatment, & health education.
✍️Global Impact:
Around 200,000 new cases annually. Prevalent in South Asia, Africa, and South America.
✍️Elimination Efforts:
WHO's strategy to eliminate leprosy as a public health problem. Focus on reducing new cases and disabilities.
✍️ Community Involvement:
Engage communities to fight discrimination. Awareness campaigns to reduce fear and biase.

Ethiopia celebrated World Leprosy Day 2024 the 25th time under the theme: “Beat Leprosy”.This theme encapsulates the dual objectives of the day: to eradicate the stigma associated with leprosy and to promote the dignity of people affected by the disease.
World leprosy day plays a pivotal role in fostering a more compassionate & informed society, ultimately contributing to eradicating leprosy & improving the lives of people affected by Hanson disease.
✍️ World Leprosy Day is observed annually on the last Sunday of January. This year, it falls on January 28. It was established by French journalist Raoul Follereau in 1954 to campaign for those affected by the disease.

Leprosy was renamed Hansen’s disease after Norwegian scientist Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, who in 1873 discovered the slow-growing bacterium now known as Mycobacterium leprae as the cause of the illness. | 208 |

The screenings provided valuable opportunities for community members to learn about their health status and receive professional guidance and counseling. The successful collaboration serves as an inspiration and a testament to the positive impact that can be achieved through teamwork and a shared vision for public health.👏👏

Today, we had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas in pediatric ward with the children💫👏.
EMSA memberspaid some efforts to create a festive atmosphere for the children who were unable to spend the holiday at home.
Despite being in the hospital, the children were able to experience the joy and magic of Christmas.✨✨
Little gifts brought smiles to the children's faces and was such a heart warming thing to see.🤍
We are grateful for the support of all EMSA memebers, Rotaract ARBAMINCH and the dedicated staff at the pediatrics ward.
