(28/04/25) 1️⃣ Nike Faces $5 Million Class Action Lawsuit Over Shutdown of NFT Arm RTFKT ▶️ Sportswear brand Nike has been hit with a $5 million class-action lawsuit that accuses the sportswear giant of operating a rug pull by abruptly shutting down its RTFKT subsidiary and abandoning its sneaker-themed digital assets. The lawsuit also accuses Nike of promoting unregistered securities in violation of U.S. law. It claims the company used “its iconic brand and marketing prowess to hype, promote, and prop up the unregistered securities,” only to withdraw support once profits were made. Source 2️⃣ Monero Price Surge Likely Attributable to Large Hack: ZachXBT 🔍 According to onchain sleuth ZachXBT, the recent Monero (XMR) price surge is linked to a suspicious BTC transfer potentially involved in a theft event. ZachXBT notes that onchain data shows 3,520 BTC (valued at $330.7 million) was moved from an address and quickly laundered through over six instant exchanges and swapped into privacy-focused cryptocurrency Monero. Due to liquidity for XMR being limited due to exchange de-listings the past few months, the large buy order led to a 50% spike in XMR’s price. For context, the manipulation incident saw the accounts profiting more than $20 million. Xie Jiayin, Bitget’s head of Chinese operations, stated,

These eight accounts are the main instigators of the VOXEL incident and have improperly gained more than 20 million US dollars from it. Except for these eight accounts, all other users who participated in VOXEL trading on April 20 and have withdrawn funds do not need to worry. The accounts have been restored to normal and no responsibility will be pursued in the future.
