Zoom out and look at this chart. Only ~3% of altcoins on Binance are trading above their 200-day moving average. Thatβs not normal, thatβs washout territory.
Since early October, the damage has been real. Total alt market cap excluding $BTC and stables is down ~36%. Strip out the top 10 and itβs closer to 46% in just a few months. Liquidity didnβt rotate, it vanished.
This isnβt people being late to altseason, itβs capital pulling back and going defensive, but these conditions usually show up near opportunity -- not near euphoria.
That doesnβt mean it reverses tomorrow. Periods like this can last longer than people expect but when participation collapses this hard, the next regime change tends to matter. If liquidity returns, this is the kind of signal history doesnβt ignore. | 6 |

This chart tells a pretty clear story if you slow down and look at who is actually buying. Smaller whale cohorts have been trimming their Ethereum exposure, which is what usually grabs attention on the timeline. But the more important move is happening with the largest holders.
Wallets holding more than 10,000 $ETH have been steadily increasing their positions. These types of whales donβt usually accumulate during rallies or moments of excitement. Historically, they step in when Ethereum is undervalued and before the broader market turns optimistic.
What stands out this time is the scale. Since July, their accumulation has accelerated to levels we havenβt seen before. That suggests theyβre not trading short-term price action, but positioning for something bigger. | 6 |
